Last September we booked a last minute deal Paris to Normandy with Avalon. I checked flights I wanted to book and my TA worked with Avalon and I got the flights I wanted.. Transfers included...This was our first River cruise with Avalon and we very pleased loved it. Excurisions were excellent... We have never cruised with Viking and cruised with Uniworld twice. We are cruising Uniworld next summer with a deal we couldn't refuse. We booked our air through Uniworld good connections and great price... Enjoy your trip...

We checked prices before booking our River cruise and also schedules. I spoke with my TA and had her check prices with Uniworld. You book with whatever price they have that day. I guess price can change daily. You have to pay with credit card immediately. They use Delta we got a terrific nonstop Bost to Amsterdam.. Good time... The return not so great but price each.. $1.077... Round trip Which was considerably lower then the website. The only draw back for that price was on our return there is a 4 hr layover in Paris.. We figured we would go for it...I wanted a preferred time with a two hr layover in Paris Uniworld wouldn't budge! Good luck.. Do research on flights you want...

I took my two of pair of Skechers beige and black. and my Teva sandals. Next year I might throw in my Merrill sneakers very comfortable for cobblestone sidewalks..

We are cruising Rhine and Moselle ... Third cruise with Uniworld. Last year we cruised to Paris and Normandy booked about a month out with another good deal on Avalon. It was awesome everything superb. Uniworld is all inclusive and we book with the best price..you will get addicted to River cruising. We had no intention of booking a cruise until we viewed the Uniworld promotion. Couldn't pass it up.. Enjoy..

How far out are you from your departure date? I noticed on Uniworld's website if you are Heritage club members you can get a one category upgrade. It states 45 days before departure. Probably depends on occupancy of the ship! I will contact TA when we are close to our departure date... Good for you .. I am happy for you .Enjoy your cruise..

Thx so much for info. We have cruised the Castles on the Rhine two years ago so I think we will be revisiting the same towns. My mind has brain freeze I would have to look at the itinerary to refresh my memory. But that's ok It doesn't matter to repeat those beautiful towns. We are leaving Aug 23 that was the only date with the Uniworld promotion. So hopefully it won't be too hot..we are also Heritage Club members so we each have a one free laundry each week. To me that's an extra bonus. Again thx for answering my questions.

We have never cruised for 13 days but Uniworld through Travelzoo had a promotion 50% discount but only certain dates. Two departures one in August the other in Npvember. We have a year of anticipation and planning. Appreciate all your help...

Our 50th two years ago we cruised Uniworld to Burgundy and Provence. We stayed two nights precruise in Paris. Post cruise Aix Provence. Four days. It was a lot of planning on my part but it was awesome. This will be our fifth River cruise. Usually we fly in the day before departure easier with jet lag. This trip we are going directly to the ship. We have been to Amsterdam one of our favorite cities..you will love it. You can decline any excurision and remain on the ship and just relax. Last year we went to Paris and Normandy with our friends and husband preferred sometimes to remain on ship. Not me I want to see everything. You can go at your own pace.... Enjoy you will love it...

I have read itinerary and there a few excurisions that we have taken but there are other optional tours to chose from. Question... We have stateroom category 3 ..large picture window. Rm 205 .. We usually book a French balcony but noticed all the staterooms except for suites are same square footage. Are the rooms small.? Last year we cruised on the Avalon Creativity 170 sq feet rooms River Queen 151 sq.feet.. We had a fabulous entertainer on Avalon played and sang in lounge each night. Is there some sort of entertainment each night?Also did you do the vinegar excursion? We liked it but we will not do a repeat this cruise. Favorite memory?.. Thx.

Thx for response. We have never cruised 13 days so excited! arrive in Amsterdam we go directly to ship. Usually we book a Hotel and fly in the day before cruise.. We booked airfare also through Uniworld at an unbelievable price. I checked Delta website and price was $$$$ . I also gave Uniworld the Flghts I wanted. I always book my own flights but this Was such a deal. Believe me I do a ton of research....Look forward to cruising the Moselle...

We are in the planning stages of booking on Uniworld's River Queen for next August. We have cruised with Uniworld Castles on the Rhine and loved it. This gives us the opportunity to cruise on the Moselle.. Need some reviews on this itinerary .. Its 13 days and it's a special deal with Uniworld. Only two departures dates with this itinerary for a fantastic price. August and November 2017.. Thx in advance for any information ....:)

We received some great deals with Avalon. Checking out the itinerary's. We have cruised Danube, Rhine, Paris and Normandy. Air fare is included in quoted price. We have not visited Brussells and Holland. This itinerary starts in Namur and takes in the cities of Ghent, Antwerp, Rottendam. Not familiar with any of these cities. Please need some feedback of this itinerary. We are looking at last week in May... Thx...

Last September we cruised Paris to Normandy on one of Avalon's older ships Creativity.. It was an unbelievable last minute deal I think to fill cabins. I think the ship is about five years old. We have cruised on Uniworld twice and AMA. We loved Avalon and defintely would cruise with them again.

We have looked at this itinerary and would love to visit Portugal but probably not a River cruise. We have friends that cruised this itinerary and also negative review on long bus rides. Thx for input..

We contacted our TA and ship is actually empty business very slow people not traveling! Maybe it's just this itinerary. I also want control over my air travel not sure how Avalon works this deal! Bottom line we are going to wait ... Maybe more deals😀

I have been on my IPad checking deals for 2017. Looking at Avalon Visionary May or June Remich to Nuremberg. If you book before Aug free air!! Also I hope this is a real deal! We have cruised with Uniworld( loved it but getting $$$) cruised with Avalon last year and had a wonderful experience. I know nothing about this itinerary but hear Luxumbourg is really nice. Need help thx...

Mixed reviews on this itinerary . We have done some research and usually the ships are rented. Either you love this itinerary or hate it!

I receive River cruise specials daily in my inbox. We have cruised AMA, Uniworld, and Avalon. We have cruised Rhine, Danube, Burgundy and Paris & Normandy last year. Most River cruise companies are having excellent deals. Has anyone cruised the same itinerary. .? We are not interested in Asia or China. Maybe cruise a different cruise line! Thx.

Just read about raid on Avalon Cruise ship in the Amazon. We have been on four River cruises and with all the terror attacks we are staying away from Europe for awhile. On my bucket list was Istanbul .. No way! Do you think River Cruises especially France will have additional security? They are a soft target.

Our first River cruise AMA probably about 2007 The Danube. We were terribly disappointed in the food. We are not foodies and food was not good. One night we had the chef sit with us and voice our complaints. Not just us many people complained. I wrote a letter when I returned from our cruise and I was told my expectations were maybe too high...rumor they were in transition and sold to another travel company. Not sure if this is true. I have read many outstanding reviews on this forum on AMA not sure if I would cruise with them again. Since then we have cruised with Uniworld twice loved it. Last year we had a chance for a last minute deal with Avalon our first with Avalon. Ship about five years old. Not as upscale as Uniworld but we had a fabulous time. Food, staff itinerary everything was wonderful.. It's all about your expectations. We are easy to please... We are now going with the best deal. Defintely cruise with Avalon again. Uniworld has gotten $$$$....

Last September we took our first river cruise with Avalon on the Creativity itinerary Paris to Normandy. This was our fourth river cruise .. We have been on two Uniworld's and one AMA. We loved Uniworld and last summer Avalon was having a fantastic sale we couldn't resist. A little apprehensive would we be disappointed but it was wonderful. Our favorite part of the cruise was the nightly entertainer by the name of Merlin from Bulgaria. After dinner we would proceed to the lounge and listen and dance to talented Merlin. Our friends traveled with us and they were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and Merlin made it a very special evening. Just comparing Uniworld with Avalon I think Uniworld was more upscale. But would defintely travel with Avalon again.
