  1. So my Q's are this -

Says no need for Green Cert, BUT traveller will be required...?? or Equivalent Cert - which doesnt give any example what that is? and when opened its a pdf and in Italian and no direction of what else can be accepted???

Or is the Certificate from our Country or others, (we are Canadians) good enough to show, including in this we have Letter of Recvy,

then i read at the end need a sworn Translation???

any one help with these? really need a sworn translation, says Green Cert if in English is ok, but anything else needs translation? So how how difficult is it to get a grn cert?

    Fulfilments for entry to Italy

The rules for entry into Italy have been updated and simplified. The Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, has signed a new order extending the provisions for arrivals from foreign countries to 31 May. The only change concerns the Passenger Locator Form, which from 1 May will no longer be necessary.

From 1 May, regardless of the country of entry into Italy, the traveller will be required to present to the carrier and to whoever is in charge of checking:

the COVID-19 Green Certificate or other equivalent certificate which must state one of the following conditions:

completion of the primary vaccination series or booster dose according to the vaccination plans of the countries of release with vaccines authorized by the European Medical Agency (primary series validity 9 months and booster dose without predefined limit)

recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection (valid for 180 days from positive swab test)

recovery after the administration of the first dose of vaccine or at the end of the primary vaccination series or following the administration of the relevant booster dose

rapid antigen or molecular swab test, respectively within 48 or 72 hours before entry into Italy.

Covid-19 green certificates of successful vaccination are accepted in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish or German. If submitted in another language, they must be accompanied by a sworn translation into Italian. Foreign certifications of recovery must be accompanied by a sworn translation into Italian. See: circular letter July 30, 2021 and  circular letter September 23,2021.

  3. RCCL Fan, what cruise? We are doing same may 16th, coming up very fast!!

same as your ports but with crete

Naples - we have done Amalfi by water, if you dont want to stress over traffic, and it can be, go by water, smaller but still bi bots, for 10 to 16 passengers, and visit Amalfi, Positano etc by water, its stunning! Swim, see caves, have lunch , they normall have Prosecco on the Boat and snacks, - only warning, have a camera! and take your sea bands if youre susceptible to sea motion, as there are many boats going in all directions that the water gets choppy, when moving not a problem, when anchored or drifting, the boat bobs, we had 2 or 3 who didnt feel well, me _ i had their share of Prosecco! ;O)

This time private group doing pompei, naples and Positano from the top.

Mykonos and Crete - doing beach, lunch with day stays then back in Port to walk around

Sanorini - private tour all the POI sites and beach and wine tour

Athens - private tour all the POI's.

Euphesus - private tour all the POI's

  4. LofR is ok and used in Lieu of any Covid testing, I got this right form the Executive office at RCL, as you can test +ve for up to 90 days after your +ve case of Covid 19.

We are heading to Rome in mid May and our LofR will be used for flights, to enter Italy and board the Odyssey OTS.

    Grills at the port

Squid Lips on the river, farthest from port

Florida Fresh for the best food

Pier might be fun, haven't been since Westgate took it over

Sand Bar for fish tacos, but it's primarily a bar with food

    Where are you staying

Sorry for late reply, was in Vegas, then busy with work and just replying.

For a one night stay at the Four Points Sheraton. Easy walk to the beach, easy walk to mini putt, just havent decided if we will Uber with an XL vehicle or rent and drop off at port and from there a short shuttle to cruise.

    Thanks for the info!

It's not so much the testing hoops, it's the possibility of testing positive while in Copenhagen.

And FWIW, that scenario is possible even if Royal is testing at the pier. Personally, I want to test a day or two early so we can retest if it comes up positive. Testing pre flight is not an option since we need to arrive a few days early.  Flying overseas the day of is way more stressful

John  La La, have a Q which isnt related to this topic, you are from Cocoa beach?

We are there in june, fam cruise on mariner, have a fave seafood fun place?, near the water or in land water system?

    Hi all,

we are sailing on Wonder of the seas on 8th May out of Barcelona…..flying in from the UK.

we are all triple jabbed and also have Covid recovery certificates. We’ve also just had a holiday to Spain and so had no problem filling in the Spanish “Passenger Locator Form”.

As well as Spanish ports, we will be sailing to France and Italy.

My question is, do we need to fill in locator forms for France and Italy whilst on board? and if so, has anyone done it yet ….and was it easy?

    cheers

    Davy

Can I ask how you got a Covid Recovery Certificate?

Our Dr just said just show your +ve report, and after 10 days you are good...travel with that anywhere>?

We have been to Mykonos a few times both staying in an hotel in Platis Gialos and also cruising. We are due to stop in Mykonos in May on a Celebrity cruise. The bus stop you require is the Fabrika Bus Station in Agiou Louka. You'll probably have to ask for directions through the maze of streets!! The last time we were there was 2019 and the buses were one an hour, which they always have been since we started visiting and can be quite busy. The one thing to remember is to allow enough time, to not only return to Mykonos Town, but then find your way through the myriad of small streets with some very nice shops down to the harbour. When you get to Platis Gialos bus stop keep heading down the slope to the beach and there are some restaurants there. We tend to keep going around the bay and on the far side is a small Taverna where we have eaten. We also tend to go in May as it coincides with our wedding anniversary and the weather is generally very good. Hope you enjoy your day there.

Thank you for your info! Well done! We will plot out this adventure!

We had Mike from St. Catharines (but he went to school at Western in London) as our CD on the Odyssey back in August.  I believe Mike is now the CD on the Wonder.  I look forward to meeting Mike and chatting with him next week.

One of our fave spots on the Ody was at Vintages(wine bar maybe cant remember) beside Giavannis, great spot to people watch and enjoy a Prosecco or pre dinner glass of red, if Andy or Neejah are still waiting, say Eddie from London the Canada one and they will remember and I m sure they will comp you a wine or two, oh and the pizza there is awesome too

I hear you and on all fronts. This will be the first summer in 10 years our son isn’t playing soccer at all. The last 6 years he has played soccer and baseball at the same time. This year he will just focus on baseball and we will enjoy having a bit more time at home in the summer. That being said, last summer with outside sports was perfect for him. Playing sports gave the kids and the parents some sense of normalcy.

All that soccer playing turned him into the grade 9 kicker for Medway football so we have taken to watching another sport.  He isn’t sure if he will try out for soccer, base ball, or track and field this spring for Medway.  Very blessed with the sports and grades in the 80s but it comes with lots of work.

As a parent thanks for taking your time to coach. It is greatly appreciated.

Thanks A&L, nothing more rewarding than teach kids and watching them execute and excel in the game and in life.

Mitch is the CD’s name.  He spent some time with our family at the flowrider, as his girlfriend was on the wave with us at the same time. He’s from London just like Russ, you and me.

We didn’t make it to the Knights game Friday (seasons ticket holder since 2004) because our son was playing in Lucan VS Wallaceburg. The season is soon to wrap up with one more round of games.  Kinda looking forward to it this year, as the drama of some teenaged boys is enough for me. Our son actually had 30 minutes from the end of his game, before rep ball practice started in the community arena.  LOL, he was warmed up and ready to go.

YES thats it! Great CD actually.

and LOL - teenaged boys - boys will be boys! Hockey is a good out for them and others and should have never been taken away from them, or any physical activity for that matter for anyone! Ive been coaching for years and the last year two years were tough and I felt for the kids - so I did the best I could to give them normalcy.

  14. AHH yes that's what it was, a chauffeur driven vehicle. But with cases - Hospital and testing on its way down, the Libs who set these rules need to relax the border rules now. Especially these shorter day trips to 72 hr trips.

I think we were about 50% capacity at the beginning of Dec. The Cruise Director is from London, Ont I wish I could remember his name... he recognized my last name and remembered my son playing for the Knights. That was Dec so he mentioned he was trying to go to the Wonder OTS on his next contract.

Great find Andrew.  Thanks for sharing this with myself and everyone else who is reading this thread.  I talked to my friend last night, and we mutually decided that we are going to drive our own vehicle to DTW, park it there and then have a relative drive it back to London when they drive through Detroit the day after we disembark the Odyssey.

I checked out the booking link you provided above, and it seems like a great idea, and I am sure it will be a successful moneymaker for the operator and provide a much-needed service for travellers.  We just decided that there is a minute chance that my buddy may test positive (however unlikely that should be) and he would then be faced with the $5000 fine to reenter Canada or have to stay in the US for 11 days.  Just not worth the risk for him.

Just curious - I heard a while back, and need to confirm and havent, that if you drive across (your driver) and doesn't leave the vehicle, can drop off and come back, show his Antigen Test that they get here if needed as back up, just in case, although you dont need it to enter the US if Vaxxed.

BTW we did the Odyssey early Dec and you will absolutely love this ship! Back on the Ody in May in Rome.

Awww. Are we afraid of a booster shot?  My 10 year old DGS actually asked his mom to book his third shot asap once he was eligible. I would hope that the 3rd shot will be part of the "fully vaxxed" criteria as soon as all the provinces are in agreement. The feds can't mandate it until then.

lol, ok I will just say this - you do you and Ill do me, just roll your sleeve up every time they suggest lol

"Its not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters"

Current definition of fully vaccinated traveller - no mention or requirement of boosters at this time:

    • This means you have received:
      • the full series of a vaccine or a combination of vaccines accepted by the Government of Canada (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty, Moderna Spikevax, AstraZeneca Vaxzevria/Covishield, Janssen/Johnson & Johnson, Bharat Biotech Covaxin, Sinopharm BIBP and Sinovac/CoronaVac/PiCoVacc)

I agree, and exactly - At this time!? lol

  18. 10 minutes ago, broberts said:

What exactly are suggesting will happen?

What is Fully Vaxxed mean??? The booster is in play, in some parts of Canada and elsewhere a 2nd booster is in play! So thats what - 3 to 4 jabs at this point!  So from a basic understanding of the meaning - right now we assume two jabs is Fully vaxxed, or is it? When will they add the label 'booster' to the meaning of Fully Vaxxed!?

So hence why I say lose the testing  for all travel. Its should be common sense if one is ill, of any magnitude you stay home or take care of yourself!

It all comes back to - A healthy Society doesnt make money for the big Pharmas and or Govt! IMHO

I agree. I’m not too excited to still have a chance of getting stuck waiting for a negative test.   They can leave random testing in place but get rid of the testing completely for vaccinated. Crap I am so wanting to cruise but won’t with the risk remaining to be possibly not able to return for up to 11 days. Personal circumstance does not give me that kind of time.

Agree, this testing is a joke, scrap it! Let people decided where and when they want to leave or come back into their own country!

  20. Finished our 7 days on the Symphony Sat, walked off the ship, across the median to where they were doing Antigen and PCR testing, signe dup, 1 person in front of us at ~915am, got tested, email arrived we were both -ve, no stress, relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the Sunny day. Paid the $200, but convenient and quick.

Flew into DTW, drove to Port Huron, 2 min with agent, and headed home after a great escape from our Locked down Country.

Seriously , forgot about covid even existed while we enjoyed the sun, beaches and good times on the ship and ports!

Unless they have changed things since last month, I cruised on the Anthem Saturday December 12th. I took my test Thursday morning 10:00am got to the terminal Saturday 11:45am no problem.

Last two cruises, Oct and Dec, same here, folks its 2 days not 48 hrs, hrs makes it specific to the clock, days gives you xtra leeway!

Just got our Rapid Antigen this am  for our cruise on Sat, RCL Symphony.

Unlike travelling back to Canada of course they state hrs, of course this makes things more difficult, but seems that is what our Fed Govt enjoy doing! 🤣

Just wondering if anyone has had an answer from the powers that be on this one.   My son's 2 year extension on his Nexus expires March 17, and because he's under 18 he needs to go to the interview and get a new photograph.   All the Canadian nexus offices are closed (so stupid), had an interview scheduled over the border for next week... of course the border has been closed again and they cancelled the appointment.

So... here we are with the extension about to expire... border is closed (I'm not shelling out $400 for PCR tests to go get his photo taken in a 2 hour cross-border trip), and Cdn offices are closed.

I wonder if they'll extend the extension - or make everyone re-apply?

Such a mess.   Even if they open the borders today - I booked a Feb appointment back in NOVEMBER... so I feel like we won't be able to get him in prior to the expiration.   ugh.

Good Q, have you called anyone?

Im sure they will extend, especially with the restrictions at the border...

We use Nexus and it comes up for renewal this Early Summer, and need to deal with it too...

Oh good to know re the timing/cost at port.

Yeah my inlaws have done one trip and been through the whole border testing and quarantine routine so we are familiar with it as well. The border testing that I found indicates its still random selection (https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada), but we definitely already have quarantine plans in case - we both work at home already, so not much changes there.

At Miami or FLL airports Rapid PCR is $159, at the Pier after disembarkation ~ $130, both are saying ~ 1hr. Walgreens, you can drive in with your taxi or Uber, free, use Local Hotel addy, and hearing results can be turned around in a few hours.

    Go enjoy your trip!

We drive thru to DTW, so cross the land border there and back, no dealings with the Toronto airport and no need to show any test to board domestic flights with in US, only with the agent at the land crossing. Last two trips, no Questions asked going over, coming back filled out the Can App, have all paper work ready in case, and we got - hope you enjoyed your trip and safe trip home.

But all depends on the agent and kind of day they are having lol..
