Do you mean you are flying to Cozumel for a land based vacation or cruising with a stop to Cozumel?

Not sure what you mean as others have asked a similar question and the answer is you can get a test at the airport to get back to Canada.

As already mentioned many hotels do the testing. I know that both Air Canada and Westjet Vacations have a document that lists all the hotels that offer testing, along with price and other info.

As part of our cruise, last stop is Coz, 2 days prior to flight back to Can from US.

Have a sched for PCR test in Houston, Haztech, but considering Coz test as it is way cheaper for one, and not rushing to get test morning of flight.

  2. Yes flying out next Friday to Houston, for galveston on the Carnival Vista, 1 week,

long story short we had a B2B on RCL, for 2 weeks in Sept before they announced they would finally accept mixed mRNAS, so had to cancel, so booked this trip as Carnival was recognizing us a fully vaxed, etc then not 2 weeks after cancelling RCL accepts mixed mRNAS ...

its what you call S Show! lol

Then we have one booked end of Nov out of Fort Laud with RCL.

I also have a cruise booked out of London next July.

I am not worried as things are going to change.

If a PCR test is required I am going to hope that the airport will offer it. So many airports are offering it as they need to offer that service to get business back.

Many airports offer PCR tests with a turn around time of under an hour.

lets not forget at ~$300+/- USD each

The CDC considers mixed mRNA vaccination acceptable. I believe it only rejects AZ / mRNA mixes.

True, I received a letter from CDC recognizing my wife and I as mixed mRNAs as fully vaccinated, it s even in their website, its RCL who has dropped the ball on this and many Canadians are travelling elsewhere.

  6. Thanks for all the info, I also found Haztech, 8 min from Bush IAH , Rapid PCR testing 30 min.

But I will investigate the Airport site too.

Would make sense if all Cruise lines, just set up a testing area 2 days before disembarkation, for int'l travelers if needed quickly....I'd pay the $150 if it was Rapid PCR.

We went to vegas a month ago, and to fly back to Canada, we arranged where they came right to our room, 20 min tops it took. paid for it as it wasnt done by the MGM Casino Hotel,

as I have shared before, they 9whom ever they is we need to find out) have created a whole new industry!

I gotta tell you...  My family (13 of us) have 3 cruises booked 2021/22 and I am INSULTED by Royal.  All my emails to them they blamed the CDC, which we knew never made sense.  Now I am finding out they are admitting to others that this was a Board decision.

I believe my family has decided that we are going to take our money (and our mixed vaccines) and book elsewhere.  My parents are diamond plus but to alienate Canadians like this.  Canadians who did the right thing...  On top of the fact that all scientific evidence clearly points to the fact that we are just as protected from covid, maybe even more protected...

Trust me MM I hear you, I pushed, copied n pasted from CDC website, even received the CDC email stated we were recognized as fully vaccinated with mixed mRNAs because of supply issues, and basically got told 'although we appreciate your tenacity' our Board.... i truly was pissed so frustrating!

As I said before before very short sighted, at a point where business was stalled for 18 months, you think this would have been a strategic allowance - all along adhearing still to CDC recommendations - as RCL state they follow! Huge ball drop by RCL and miss!

So we have re booked, ripe for the taking, with Carnival their Vista ship, who accept and recognize mixed mRNAs as per CDC, and states it on the Carnival website Covid protocols!

We are Diamond presently, to have been D+ after the B2B that we couldnt go on, Prime in the Casino.

Carnival, doesnt cross recognize these levels or the perks that come with them, but they offered us a great deal! One that we took and cant wait! Like I said we are prime for the taking!

We love the RCL, Loyal to Royal, invite family, friends all the time...but again a HUGE MISS.

Next - dodnt even get me going on our idiot PM and the Lieberals! lol

I did the same thing.. emailed CDC explaining we'd had a shot of Pfizer at the end March and then Moderna at the beginning of June. I received a reply back from them telling me the same thing as what they told you..... we were considered fully vaccinated.

I keep checking RCI website to see if they've added that they will accept mixed mrna vaccines, but no change as yet!  I'm happy NCL are accepting the mixed mrna shots and as loyal as we have been to Royal over the years,  I have no problem sailing on another  line who accept the mixed vaccines. Enjoy your fall cruise!

I even brought cc'd RCL and CDC together, and reminded RCl lol that they follow the CDC guidelines and their statement is wrong on their website of protocols! But CDC DOES recognize mixed vaccines under certain criteria! SO frustrating!!!

  9. had B2B with RCL, Sept 18/25th, had to cancel, I wrote RCl, a few times, with my CDC interpretation, where they state on their website, under certain criteria - mixed (mRNAs only) vaccines will be considered fully vaccinated, EVEN wrote CDC and they concurred and returned my email and stated YES we consider you fully vaccinated, sent this to RCl too, but to no avail - they have stated they do not recognize mixed mRNAs ad fully vaccinated.

I Believe they dropped the ball here, short sighted! MANY Canadians fall under this category and had to cancel.

It was explained to me this protocol was set at a board decision, and im sure they will re look at next one and hopefully sooner than later they re tract this and allow and recognize mixed mRNAs as fully vaccinated@!

In the mean time we are booking Carnival, and Mexico. For our fall trip.

They (whomever they is or are) have created this mess and a new Industry - Covid testing, its a joke! Why? We have experienced it 1st hand why its a joke. So its not a conspiracy theory, its real, its all fabricated on the most part! The $ being pulled in from this pandemic is crazy! What do 'they' say, never let a good crisis go to waste!

  10. I posted on another thread, re Canadians, mixing, vaccines etc and posted my  interpretation of a CDC post from their website and interchangeability...as I am totally confused too...I will look for it...but long and short, I wrote both CDC and RCL Mr Bermudez and Mr Bayley, and 1st response was as per CDC etc etc , but then with another follow up email, I pointed out the CDC page and date RE Mixing and where anyone who had to mix mRNA's because of nil supply etc (as is the case for MANY Canadians) - I await their 2nd response.

Its sad, what they have made this into...moving goal post, politicizing a crisis, divisional wars etc

If you look back on this thread, or on the Canadian Cruisers forum you'll see even before August 13 the CDC said that in extreme circumstances if you need to mix vaccines it's fine and you are considered fully vaccinated.  Unfortunately their rules don't seem to extend to Canadians who had to mix under extreme circumstances....

And I feel you - I'm mRNA mixed with an October cruise booked...

I copied and pasted and printed hardcopies some messages earlier that RCL was allowing mixed Vax's Pre Aug 13th, and RCL just needs to recognize the Canadian situation and the strategies that were administered to get people vaxxed.
