  1. Pappas is a chain and is just ok. These are some of the better ones north of Downtown. Corkscrew - https://www.corkscreworders.com/ Gaitlin's - https://www.gatlinsbbq.com/ Pinkerton's - https://pinkertonsbarbecue.com/
  2. Is NCL back into your regular rotation or is this still just a one off? Interested in your thoughts.
  3. As long as you do not go over the swipe max, you can swipe it twice for two players. Also, if your ship has an O’sheehans with games, the package also works there. This includes the electronic darts machine. Just not bowling.
  4. Yes you can walk in at any time. The rush to get there early is because seating is limited. It’s set up like a bar with booths and tables so if you come later you can stand to the side or at the bar until someone gets up to leave.
  5. No problem with boarding or getting off and on the ship while in port. The issue with having a passport vs the birth certificate is if for some reason you need to make it back to the US by other means.
  6. The Getaway has been my families favorite cruise so far. I know you mentioned Syd's but I will say this has been the most fun we have had on a cruise. Its more of a show than just a cover band. If you want a seat, get there early. I know you didn't mention it but pass on American Diner. Its not great. For MDR, go to the Tropicana. There usually isn't a wait like there is with Taste and Savor and they have live music. The atmosphere is as close to how you would picture early cruising. I don't know your groups physical ability but do the rope course if you can. Its one of the best ones at sea and they have a walk the plank where you walk out about 5 feet over the ocean on a thin rail. O'Sheehan's is great for a late night snack. We even went back for an adults dinner on another night. If there are kids in your group, you can buy an unlimited arcade pass. They can use it on the video arcade and also the games in O'Sheehan's.
  7. If you are thinking about going to Chankanaab, pay a little extra for a cabana at Cabana Beach. You get full use of Chankanaab and it includes snorkeling gear. https://thecabanabeach.com
  8. The BOGO is just a marketing ploy. The price listed is the price per person on all the items. Royal will always have a promo going on and just changes the price. That price is really high for the package. The break even will be about 7 drinks.
  9. That seems very low. Almost pre summer increase pricing. Are you trying to calculate the 50% discount or is that amount in the cart. The lowest I have seen someone post recently is $62.99pppd. My December 4 day has been going back and forth between $69.99 and $74.99. This is all before the 18% gratuity of course.
  10. Yes. Once you are linked you can see everything they have booked. You can even purchase items for them.
  11. Just log into the Royal website and in the manage my cruise section you can link them. You just need the name, reservation number and birthday.
  12. Who is the CD? It looks like Katy McCullagh. If so, I had her on the Liberty in June. She didn't add much to the cruise. Barely saw her unless it was one of the big shows.
  13. If you bring both cards, they will give you 1 drink for each card. You can go back and get the second drink afterwards. This goes for alcoholic drinks also. The only difference is if you ask for a alcoholic drink and something else like a water, juice or energy drink. They will give you both.
  14. I think its because NCL started the trend of charging extra for activities on board. They got the reputation and it has stuck. The other cruise lines jumped on board and started charging so it became the norm but everyone still complains about NCL doing it.
  15. Is this a Europe cruise of US? In the US, it will just be while in a US port. So while in Miami waters its 7%. The one to watch out for is New Orleans. You get into US waters around dinner time when you are coming into NO. We were charged taxes on our Moderno meal because of it.
  16. I have bid but have never won. 15 JS with 2 weeks left are a lot so there is a chance. For comparison, I am about 7 weeks out and JS are currently sold out. Bid what you are comfortable with paying for the upgrade since its not cancellable if you win. I don't go crazy. I will bid more than the minimum but its never more than the second level of the scale. We are usually on pretty full ships though.
  17. Not necessarily. For most shows there will be an time that falls during the second seating and then another that falls after dinner. It will be like 8pmish and then after 10pm. If there isn't a second show, they will usually have the same show on a different day at a time that works for the late seating.
