Yes I understand. I've been in it many, many times. I actually wasn't asking what it was. The question was about capacity. There is limited capacity in every venue on the ship. You can't keep pushing people in venues until it explodes.
You were lucky then. On my last cruise I couldn’t order drinks from other venues. They refused to do that saying it was the specialty of the bar. Also I wanted a sailaway drink around 4 pm for a 4:30 sail away as I would have been in the shower around that time. I was told no. I asked to speak to the person’s supervisor and all of a sudden it was no problem. Maybe it was a ship specific problem but it was super annoying.
I’d be surprised if hal has a wait list for club orange. I know it’s not the same but I wanted a cabana on my last cruise and none were available. I phoned many, many times to do that. No such thing as a wait list. They need to keep phoning because I’ve seen hal take the next person rather then look at a wait list if they even would do that.
Yes, I have to say I’ve noticed a few changes as well but nothing that I find is that useful. Most important to me
1) show all fare categories, not just ones favourable to Hal’s bottom line
2) give dining discounts for the Mariners that have them instead of us having to fight onboard for them.
Here is a list of wine packages from Roger Jett’s site. He has lots of great info. That said wines may or may not be available.

I really don’t think they care for the higher star Mariners. They read from a script that they do but I’m not seeing any evidence that they do. While I was talking to someone at hal while my pcc was away she told me she doesn’t see too many 5 star Mariners. Maybe it’s because you do things like this. It’s shouldn’t be so hard to give them money. I’m sure threatening to cancel will do zero. They aren’t losing anything but you are even with insurance. I know it wasn’t you but I really wish people would stop using “Karen”. While my name isn’t Karen I feel like it’s super rude to those who have that name.
The Princess site is so much more friendly. So much easier to find what you need. This is what hal should strive for. I don’t know what the big secret is on not displaying all available fares. Super annoying.
So you wouldn’t notice if there was a $2000 difference between the non refundable and hia? Do I calculate mine to the penny? No. If it’s around the equivalent of $50 usd I’m good with it. Any more than that and it’s not worth it to me.
Yes, they are. I’ve had them on several of my cruises without charge. I assume that’s what the poster was talking about when they said mini bottles but I’ve been wrong before.
I don’t know that I’d say chances are decent. Personally I think there is a chance. If someone is hinging picking a cruise line on escargot I’d rather go on the side of caution. I find it’s really not all that easy to get every special request honoured. That said I rarely do it.
Everyone doesn't get treated the same. Some get $10K cruises for free 8 months in advance, and some pay top dollar. That's much more of a big deal then the loss of $100 in my mind.
Yeah, exactly. I don't know what is so hard to understand. I don't think people blindly book without looking at all the scenarios. Also, for Canadians, exchange comes into play. If you book HIA later on the exchange can be much higher. Plus, the advantage fare isn't much lower than the HIA.
