  1. I know some enjoy it. It’s a waste of money for me. That said Alaska isn’t something I personally enjoy and I’m really not looking to hear why I should. Just like some don’t like hot weather.
  2. I just don’t see the value on cold cruises. I’m used to the cold living in a climate where the winter seems 10 months long.
  3. They heard us talking 😛. Things can definitely change. Good luck!
  4. It for sure is. Sometimes the ingredients don't get spread around as much as they should be. I ordered it through room service one day but they decided I'd rather have the all american breakfast. The frittata is one of my favs.
  5. No, sorry it's not. Everyone has access to it no matter what category they are in.
  6. Raise fares? I pay plenty for my cruises. Maybe they should stop giving away cruises to some. That would surely help. It’s not a class system. That would be getting club orange based on your room selection. It’s also not a ship within a ship, that is also based on your stateroom. No matter what level of stateroom you have you can purchase club orange.
  7. Correct. I always get refundable so that slips my mind.
  8. Just some info about Hal. It’s not really medical insurance, only $10 k which is nothing. What I like about Hal’s cancel for any reason, it’s just that. Just before everything hit the fan in 2020 I decided to cancel my cruise. It was past final. I had money back on my credit card no questions asked maybe 10 days later. You don’t have to buy it until one day before final payment.
  9. It’s been the case with me too when I’ve used a ta. I’m glad it wasn’t just me thinking that didn’t sound right.
  10. It looks so good. Thank you for coming back so we can all learn.
  11. I know you didn’t ask me but there is no ideal. It’s what you prefer. Not sure what you mean by balcony. If you are on the pinnacle ships I would pick the side cabanas. On the non pinnacle I would get one facing the pool because there is more airflow. On the pinnacle ships there is a lot more plexiglass in the cabanas and it cuts the airflow considerably.
  12. The drinks used to be so much better. It didn’t matter where you got them. They were identical. I love a Bloody Caesar and Hal’s were delicious but it was a real difference on my last cruise. Every one was different. I’m pretty sure I got a Bloody Mary I few times. The care taken is not the same. I hope you do a Panama Canal cruise. I find it fascinating and I’ve been several times. Thanks for your live thread once again and your final thoughts.
  13. I don’t miss any of the old ships. Love the pinnacle class.
  14. You never know. Watch your email. On my last cruise I phoned several times because I love a balcony but they were ridiculous in price so I settled for an oceanview. The guy told me there was only one balcony so don’t get my hopes up so I didn’t. Fast forward to 3 days before the cruise and the email came in for an upsell to a balcony. I phoned immediately and he told me there was also upsells to Neptune suites. The Neptune was slightly lower in price than the balcony would have been had a bought it initially so I grabbed it. You never know what can happen. Maybe something, maybe nothing.
  15. I had mentioned a while back that the fixed dining time had changed to earlier times and I was told I was wrong because this person asked hal 😛. So much for that.
  16. Yes if there is one available. I booked my last cruise 7 weeks before it left. There was no cabana availability at that time. For me, it’s a large part of my enjoyment. I called often before my cruise left and it was always the same. Nothing available. Lucky for me I called 9 days before and someone must have cancelled because I did get it. I fully expected them to call back and say they made a mistake but they didn’t. Before the pandemic I feel it was much easier to book one. You must have 2 booking numbers because usually you have to book for the whole cruise at once.
  17. I always feel it's way more challenging, to work out on a ship. Glad it's not just me.
  18. Yes, of course. I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone to disagree on that. It’s still good to get the cabin upgraded too.
  19. I agree. It's not like you have to crawl through dirt to get on the ship. I wear what I have on the first night for dinner. It is nice clothing, not a t-shirt and shorts.
  20. You forgot the part about people staring in the windows at you 😛😂. That my personal favorite.
  21. Personally I like hearing negative posts about club orange. I hope more people do it. It’s getting harder to book so any negative press is good press for those of us that have actually tried it and enjoy it.
