  1. There was a very interesting comparison done by @cruisemom42 about the price of Neptunes and inside cabins very recently. It turns out that the price for both cabins was pretty much the same for the inside and Neptune per sq ft. There is no “extra” charge for Neptune suites other than the size. The same can’t be said for celebrity.
  2. Yes I fully understand that. No need to explain.
  3. The information is somewhat right. You have to pay club orange in full before getting the upgrade. That seems to be universal now.
  4. It's very hit and miss. I've experienced the very early and very late reservations on a lot of ships. It could be very different on the Volendam and zaandam. It's been a long while since I've been on those ships. I've never been on the Zuiderdam.
  5. That’s been my experience too. That kiosk is on 2 on the koningsdam.
  6. While I believe you used to be able to make reservations with the app for the mdr a while back a saw no option to do that on my last cruise. It is best to try to do that at the mdr. The dude on the phone tried to tell me there were 2 seating only in open even though I explained over and over it was open and not fixed.
  7. That gin and tonic just looks odd. That said I’d rather eat dessert than all the sugar that comes in tonic water. I’ve enjoyed your thread and the wonderful pictures you posted. Sorry to hear your tour was canceled.
  8. I’ve had no problem bringing on an empty water bottle either.
  9. But the prices is light years away from celebrity too. One person recently did a price comparison between inside rooms and Neptunes. They are basically the same price per sq foot. That was shocking to me. Try that on celebrity.
  10. I always take my extra water back. I drink a lot of water daily, 2 to 3 litres. I know some drink a tsp or 2 a day so it does make a difference. I rarely drink bottled water at home and I never get to puffer fish status so there has to be a difference. I definitely drink the tap stuff in the restaurants on board.
  11. I believe it has a higher salt content. While I don’t drag on water I mostly drink bottled on the ship to keep from blowing up like a puffer fish 🐠 when I’m on a hot cruise.
  12. I’m pretty sure cbd water will not make it on the ship and you could find yourself in a bit of trouble. You are supposed to carry it on not slap a luggage tag on it.
  13. I cruised in April 2023. It's not like it was 15 years ago and wouldn't have a clue how things are. Of course they were full at Christmas. A year ago was a long time ago. Things have changed. I would expect them to be more busy on 7 day.
  14. Azipod maybe? I hope you get to the gardens. I'm not a garden person but they are beautiful.
  15. I do like beets. One of the few people I'm sure. That said, I don't want them in a glass. That's just weird. Everything else looks good.
  16. No I haven't bothered because it's not an allergy just a strong sensitivity so it's easy for me to ask. Hal seem to love to put things on a bed of cornmeal for some strange reason. I don't love when they don't list corn as one of the ingredients. I do eat at specialty restaurants quite often so that helps some too
  17. They are also fine with their crew carrying on plastic water bottles. Pretty sure this is a revenue thing.
  18. Is this a question? What hal says and does are two things. In a somewhat recent thread a poster reported taking a case of pop on in plastic bottles. I don't drink pop so I'm not about to test that theory.
  19. I wonder if you’ll even be able to find water in cans or cartons. I have not seen anything like that and I live in a large city in Canada. Perhaps Vancouver is different.
  20. Have you asked? I’m not speaking of a special order. I can’t eat corn in any form but there is no way that they would know that. I’ve been able to substitute pretty easily. That said I don’t eat in the mdr often. Just trying to be helpful.
  21. I can tell you without a doubt I never get quicker front desk service at the front desk with club orange. I’ve watched them take person after person at the front desk before I asked to please get some service. It’s either that or people that share their whole life with the front desk and you stand there and wait forever. I’m a five star so most of the other “benefits” aren’t extra. I’m assuming that others that do club orange are not all newbies. I find it interesting that the solution to this problem is just to add more on cruises prices to the few of us that pay rack rate. Just pay club orange. Same.
  22. You’d think that people never ate before. I wish I had the metabolism to do that even though I get plenty of exercise. I love green beans so I’d take yours. They must have other vegetables if you asked for a substitute.
  23. I just don’t understand doing something you don’t enjoy if you don’t have to. I don’t dress like I’m taking out the garbage but I like to look decent.
  24. He really never needs to wear a tie. From what I've seen on some cruises pj's, short and slippers all seem to be acceptable on some ships.
  25. That's odd. The only time I've seen that before is at HMC. Maybe there was tons of high star mariners on that cruise so no one had priority. I've only seen it the way POA1 described (other than HMC).
