  1. Is this really that big of issue? I must be more out of touch than I thought.
  2. Hopefully NCL will start enclosing the smoking areas on their smaller ships as they get a chance. Of course, some anti-smoking fanatics will complain about have to visually see the smokers. And in all fairness, there are some smokers that will complain about having to smoke in a glass cage. As someone who smoked for 43 years and has been a non-smoker for five, I have met folks on both sides of the argument who think it's their right to impose their views (or smoke) on everybody else.
  3. Do you really believe that if NCL could make more money by banning smoking in the casino they wouldn't do it? This is the same company that has eliminated hash browns and cookies to save a dime.
  4. I'm sure they have done numerous studies to find out if they could make more money by banning smoking and have determined that smokers spend more money in the casino. Enclosed areas seem like the way to please the most people. Also the casinos are one of the biggest revenue generators on the ship. Why would they want to move it off into a corner somewhere?
  5. LAX is probably the worst port if you need to get off the ship quick. I definitely would change it.
  6. I just bought a wristwatch this morning for $10.95 at Walmart for my upcoming cruise. Now if I'm late I have nobody to blame but myself.
  7. I went from Motril to Granada on a private tour this time last year. There were many NCL buses doing the same excursion. If their bus (two people) was held up by the rainstorm, why weren't the NCL buses held up?
  8. Like folks have said it is usually 30 minutes before departure but always check the sign at the bottom of the gangway when you leave because things do change. And if you want to know how strict they are google NCL leaves 8 people off the coast of Africa.
  9. The lamb is very tasty, but you only get one single lonely chop.
  10. Not hype. Very relevant. Some folks who do not get to cruise 7 or 8 times a year due to work or financial constraints choose their cruises very carefully and itineraries are very important to them.
  11. On the Joy? I have been looking at that one. They have not been messing with the Panama Canal cruises other than dropping a Central American port or two. I should have added a yet in there somewhere.
  12. I would eat the yummy looking spread and the chocolate covered strawberries. And just about anything else left in my cabin that didn't belong to the vegetable family.
  13. Yup! That's why they replaced Costa Rica on a number of cruises with Acapulco. "For Safety"
  14. We took a train between Venice and Trieste. It was very simple and took a bit over two hours.
  15. Not for me. I wanted to add a trip before long one as B2B. Oh well, at least our rooms should be ready when we board in Tampa.
  16. And it looks like it's going to deadhead to Tampa for the 25-day cruise. Yuck!
  17. Can't wait to read the review on the State Park website complaining about the bears and raccoons stealing your food and disturbing your solitude.
  18. I know there is a 0% chance of my Sept 2025 cruise stopping at Bar Harbor, but I'm genuinely interested in how long they will continue to market Bar Harbor as a stop.
  19. It looks like part of researching future cruises will be going to all port websites and seeing if the particular ship we are looking at is actually scheduled to be there.
  20. Not yet. I keep looking. Curious to what they're going to put before the 25-day cruise. My PCC doesn't know either and she says she usually finds out a couple days before they update their website.
  21. Four of us rented a taxi for the day for a $150 I believe. He took us to 4 different sites. It was a good day, but you had to close your eyes while he was driving.
  22. The Spinnaker lounges on the Jewel class will be next.
