Wolf, Bobbie is presently on the Liberty and Captain Dustin just started his rotation as captain today. Interesting sidenote, the paper that one can pick up at the front desk, giving names of the captain, Hotel Director, Chief Engineer, and CD, spelled his last name Castelsky. You might want to check with others before changing your spelling. FYI.

Am presently on the MJ, and today is a "Perfect Day at Coco Cay", and the price for the water park is $79.00, and $54.00 to ride the balloon. We spent a few hours by the pool, and enjoyed lunch. The price for enjoying the beach, pool and several restaurants is "ZERO".
We only saw the balloon go up twice, and one time it looked like there were only 3 or 4 people, even though it holds 30.
The food served on the island, especially the hamburgers, I consider to be an upgrade from the ones served in the Windjammer.

Carol, thanks for sharing so much of what you experienced on the MJ. We board Wednesday for two weeks, and it's just a kick back after selling one of Bobbie's moms homes. I'm sure you remember her mom and dad from the "Around the Horn" cruise. They are both gone, and we have one home to go, but are taking off a month for cruising...........just to get away.

Carol, you sure? I thought the aft elevators would go to the VCL. I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks.
I should have read all the way through this thread before making a comment. Thanks for the correction Carol. Who is the Hotel Director?

For Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle C&A:
There are no C&A lounges on the Majesty.
During the usual happy hours (4:30-8 P.M.), the VCL hosts an event. There are signs designating the front section of the VCL for a "Private Event". People just walk around those signs. I saw no servers asking to see cards, but some people I chatted with said that they were asked to show their cards to get a drink. No one asked me, and I was served VERY nicely. (wink, wink)
Note: Only those forward elevators go up to the VCL. (in case you weren't paying attention to my earlier posts)
VCL = Viking Crown Lounge

Does anyone know what happened to Capt. Tor Olsen? Did he retire?
Captain Tor is now the Fleet Captain. He will return to the sea from time to time to keep his hand in.

We stayed here years ago. Can you remind me what taxi fare is from airport to hotel? Hotel to cruise pier?
We were there this month, and the taxi from the port to the hotel was 17 Euro and from the Hilton Diagonal Mar to the airport was exactly 35 Eros. Rick

Thanks, that worked for me. Two weeks ago, the IT guy corrected my points, and yet tonight, they were incorrect. I tried your method, and it works perfectly!
Thanks again,

I'm on their website now and nothing is working for me. I can't click on any of the gray boxes at the top and when I try to get to the search functions through other means, it won't let me pick dates, departure ports, etc. I'm getting the endless circle. This really sucks!
Even Michael Bayley wrote a note of apology, but stated that with patience, the new site will be a great improvement over the old one. Try calling C&A and let them know of your problem, and see if they can give you a "back door" till they get it fixed. It appears that every day they add something to make the site a bit better, but it's going to be awhile before it totally fixed. I don't understand why they didn't totally test and have everything ready before rolling out this disaster.

Does anyone know who the master will be on the Serenade of the Seas come March 30? Or in April?

Karen, sending prayers your way for all that you have had to deal with in 2017. Here is hoping that 2018 will bring more joy your way. We need to cruise together again.

We started in 1994 when we could only do one every 2 years, then we finally got to a point where we could do 1 a year. Just kept working on it and now we do about 10 a year
Looks like soon you will be joining the Pinnacle Club at Royal Caribbean. Congrats on your milestone of 100 cruises!

I think the tips have to be added before tomorrow to be at the old rate.
I believe that if one wants to add gratuities at the old rate, they can still do it tomorrow, January 2nd. After tomorrow it will be to late at the old rate, if what Royal Caribbean sent to me is true.

Oooh I bet that gold oar is sweet. I'm going to look for one on ebay.
Sent from my SM-G920P using Forums mobile app
I sold so many of my crystal blocks on ebay, just so I could afford another cruise. I also wanted to thank mbayley for his gift of a Melchizedek of champagne to help celebrate this New Years eve. That is a lot of champagne for a party of 2, but knowing that midnight is not far away, the bottle is already opened and sitting in a 55 gallon drum of ice, with a fabricated pour spout, and we only need to down about another 400 glasses before midnight.;p
If I were aboard, it would be shared with all of the other DS and D++S, but none for the golds as they cannot drink while rowing.
Happy New Year all!

Hi Rick! Thanks for the Christmas Ecard! :)
Happy New Year to the both of you!
As she is a DS, she has every right to say "Hi" back to me, as I'm a P 2.0 sailing in a sweet, suite! Thank goodness I gained status before one had to provide their own oars. My gold oar now proudly hangs next to my stratums. I guess Royal no longer gives out gold oars, they have cut back on sooooooooo much!:o

I have found in most instances that the cost of and OS to be more than a CL. It's an individual decision, but I would stay in the OS if given the choice, and we have been in both.

We just returned from a Mexican Riviera cruise on the Ruby Princess. We are Elite on Princess with 28 cruises with them. We are also Pinnacle Club members on Royal Caribbean, and would prefer to sail on Royal more often, but they left the West Coast and claim to never return.
The activities on Royal are far superior to Princess. However, the food on Princess, in the buffet surpasses that of the Windjammer. The cabins on Royal Caribbean are better laid out than Princess, both the Royal Jr Suite compared to the mini suite on Princess, and the full suites on Royal are much better than Princess.

Merry Christmas to all of my Cruise Critic friends!

I have also stayed in both (L2) and also go along with Pete that our preference is the Owners Suite. There are just 2 of us, and we are very comfortable with the layout of the OS. The living room can accommodate more people, and the OS's are located midship, so there is much less motion when in heavy swells.

When I first saw the "Safety" movie, I thought it was a joke, and totally unacceptable to a first time passenger. It's too long and not to the point. Hopefully Royal Caribbean will listen and change to a more appropriate safety film.

The Master is teaching the Master right now on the Oasis. Captain Per is teaching Captain Rick the finesse of the Oasis Class after Rick has spent much time in the simulator. Just a few weeks of OBT will have Captain Rick up to speed, as he is one of the finest captains that Royal Caribbean has employed.
Looking forward to sailing with Captain Rick on the Symphony of the Seas.

I got the same word today from captain Per. Actually he was wondering how Wolf got the news of TBD? Pass the message here, and I can send it on to him.
