I think this is awesome information. Maybe you would message me how you did this. Also, is there a 3 post per topic rule?
Now I have the same amount of posts in this thread as Biker19. Hope it is a motorcycle he has, we love ours.
3000+
John just gave the top list. Here is the whole list to date. If you read the "how to" on Cruise Critic, you will find how to come up with the list.

That makes sense. It was closed off on the opposite side on Freedom. Can't believe
how long that construction is still going on. They are way past scheduled completion
date.
They are on schedule. The new scrubbers are being built and installed while the ship is at sea. The Chief Engineer said that the Liberty of the Seas, come next year, would be the cleanest burning (less emissions) ship in the fleet.
I just disembarked her last weekend.

What was the final word on Captain Claus Andersen? Never heard anything out of that.
If Captain Claus Andersen has been dismissed from Royal Caribbean, after being praised by the President of the line, Michael Bayley, and the U.S. Coast Guard had an open statement of what he did in the wake of the storm, then everyone from the company has been lying to us.
If someone will ask mbayley@rccl.com for a true statement, maybe we could all find out the true status.
For reasons I keep to myself, I cannot write or get an honest answer at this time, from corporate.
I know some captains that are now working for other companies, and I choose to travel with them. I pray that Claus is still onboard with Royal Caribbean.

O, good grief.
Your muster station is assigned based on your stateroom. They are not inside on some ships and outside on other ships. They are both inside and outside on all ships (most likely answer). So, if you have an issue with your assigned muster station, you should discuss it with the ships personnel.
A lot of people don't like to be hot or cold or anything else, not just people with back/hip/knee surgery.
I find the muster drill to be a complete farce, but it is a rule that is has to happen.
So again, for those who want to be offended by everything. The muster station is based on where you cabin in assigned, and is not based on the ship as either inside or outside, for the nth time it is both on RCI.
JC
JC..........once again you are right on!
Royal Caribbean has muster stations both inside and outside, and you will be placed in your muster station, as located on the back of your cabin door.
Used to be.....that everyone had to carry their life jackets to their muster station, and be able to demonstrate that they understood how to properly wear their vests. Thank goodness that has gone by the wayside.
I really like how Princess does their drill. Everyone starts inside, and stays inside. You do have to bring your life jacket, and learn how to properly secure it to your body. That is a comfortable way to do the drill, as mandated by international law.
Just off the Liberty of the Seas last Sunday, and our muster station was outside, in the sun and heat. Captain Rune kept it very short, just over 15 minutes from start to finish. I'm glad that we do not have to carry our life jackets to muster drill, as we had to in the past.:)

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2365056
Review has started...and I'm feeling lonely and neglected over there.
So far, very good Mrs Wolf! Looking forward to more.:)

Great start of your review. We were in cabin 9294........just across from you on the other side of the ship. It gave us a nice walk to the stern elevators, where the food is located. As much as I tried to watch what I ate, I gained 2 pounds in the 2 weeks that we were aboard.
I look forward to reading about your week on the Liberty. Ours was one of the best that we have ever taken with Royal Caribbean. Even with what has been taken away over the years, we have learned to have no expectations, even being Pinnacle Club members.
Looking forward to your review.

Thanks, always fun to relive it.
I have the compasses BUT I can't pinkie promise to scan them all but I'll think about it.
Amy the cruise director goes on break soon so things might change around anyway. And Derek in the pub is only on one more sailing before his break.
wolfgang........great to be with you two again. I have a great shot of your hubby in the pool in Falmouth, big smile, drink in one hand and a cigar in the other!
Our cruise director Amy, actually left with us. My understanding is that she will be taking a shore side job with Royal Caribbean, and will be living in Tampa. Got that at the Captains Corner Saturday morning.
We took in Saturday Night Fever the week before, and it is the best production that I have seen on a Freedom class ship.
I know that there were some people that have reported earlier that they were not too happy with the crew of the Liberty. I have to say, I saw none of that, actually, found the crew of the Liberty, under the command of Captain Rune Johnson, to be some of the best that I have experienced.
No hiccups, just a wonderful time, and, as always, fun to be around you two in the Suite Lounge!:D

After months of crew testing, and re designing the ride, removing the "hump" and final runs by the crew last Thursday, and Friday it was opened to passengers.
I went up to look, and from the screams it seems that the ride is a success. Talking with a few that experienced the ride, they loved it!!:D

Congratulations on over 2000 posts.......
It will be interesting to see the new Suite Lounge on the Liberty this weekend.:D

Super Mario books JS's and better. The 6,000 points is very impressive indeed, but he cruises in JS's, or GS's, and as a single, he receives 3 points for every night aboard.
He does cruise some 300 nights or more per year, so he receives about 900 points per year, under the present Royal Caribbean point system. It's only been a couple of years since I last cruised with Mario, and at that time he had amassed just over 4,400 points.
I know a couple of Pinnacles that have over 3,000 points, a few with over 2,000 points, but Super Mario is indeed a legend with Royal Caribbean.
My hat is off to you, my friend!!:D
Rick
-
I'm not sure that the upgrade fairy is still alive and well. Some say that the old upgrade fairy has retired, and has been replaced by the upsell fairy.
Of late, even some of the higher Pinnacles have said that they have been called by Royal Caribbean and were offered an upgrade..............for a price.
Times change.

If they do not intend to sail Royal ever again and are given $1,000 certificate how is my offer not valid? The $1,000 certificate in essence becomes a paperweight figuratively speaking but if I give $500 in cash they can use it to book NCL, Carnival, Princess etc.
Its a half decent solution, better than what Royal is offering for those that never wish to sail with Royal again
Somehow you don't get that the Future Cruise Certificates are NON TRANSFERRABLE, as both Marion Mom and I have pointed out. So go ahead and give this person $500.00 in cash, as it would be the same as flushing $500.00 down the toilet. The certificate will do you NO GOOD!
Rick
-
Its probably a promo code not attached to name. Ill gladly pay $500 cash for a $1,000 promo code for those that don't want to sail
I said it in jest, but FCC's all carry the original booking number, along with the passengers names. Great try though!!;)
Rick
-
Want to sell me your 100% credit for half price? :D
Garavar, it's a good deal, only if you want to change your name to theirs!:D
Rick

The Penthouse Suites on Celebrity ( I have not been on the new ships) all had butlers pantries. It would be my guess that Royal Caribbean at one time thought about having a similar set up, and hence the butlers pantry on the Explorer.
I believe that is the only ship in the fleet with a butlers pantry. We have stayed in RS's on other ships in the fleet, but none had a butlers pantry.
Rick
-
We first tried this on the Allure pre inaugural, and it was one of the best taste of a slow cooked roasted beef, with aujus, and I loved it.
Since then.........it really has been hit or miss. It saddend me, but Royal Caribbean is a mass market cruise line, and not everything will be the same on all ships.
Rick
-
My GOES card only works at international airports within the U.S.
We have talked with agents in LA, Houston, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and NJ, and while all think that it is a good program (we love it for international flights) they think it will be a long time before it is introduced to cruise ports.
Rick
-
To the OP........thank you for such a wonderful, and true review.:)
While we are Pinnacle Club members on Royal Caribbean, we are also Elite on Princess. We also sail MSC, Holland America, Celebrity, NCL, Cunard and a few others, of late, we seem to sail on Princess as much as Royal Caribbean.
Much of the reason is that we live close to the West Coast, which Royal Caribbean abandoned some years ago, but when we want a quick "get away" with a drive instead of flying, we head for Los Angeles, or their port city of San Pedro for a Mexican Riviera cruise.
We still prefer Royal Caribbean, but today Princess is getting half of our money, as we like to cruise out of the West Coast. We also think that Princess has better food, and a quieter atmosphere, something that some of us senior citizens like!!:D

Curacao?
Looks like she is docked in Curacao, noted by the bridge. Good call Bob.:D
Rick

I also bring a few cans of Clamato juice, just in case the bar runs out.
Born American, spent 5 years going to school in Canada, and my mother was British. I drink tea, not coffee, and Bloody Caesars, not Bloody Mary's!
And, at my age, no one will be convincing me otherwise!!:D:D
Great discussion!
Rick
-
While my DW loves Bloody Mary's, plus a bit more hot sauce, I love a Bloody Caesar with clamato cocktail juice. YUM!!
And, no, it has nothing to do with marmite.....a different animal altogether.

Royal Caribbean, along with all of their competitors, loves to have first time cruisers aboard, because it increases their bottom line, with so many that stick with the ShoreEx, that is another profit center for the cruise lines.
Many experienced cruisers shy away from the "ships tours" as for the most part, they cost a great deal more than locally owned shore excursions.
We have a tendency to do our "own thing". We will book with reputable local tour companies, or even rent our own car, and explore. We read the CC ports of call, along with TripAdvisor, because we want to see as much of a new port as possible, and truth be known, dealing locally will save someone up to 50% compared to dealing with the ships shore excursions.
The best rule to follow is to make sure that you are back at least a half hour before the "all aboard" time.

I would really hate to see this Captain thrown on the altar of PR. Given that NO regulatory agency has even once questioned the decision to sail, that even RCI has never said that he did wrong, but that THEIR procedures, which he followed, were in need of revision (which has still not been called for by any regulatory agency, it is the company's voluntary action), to throw this 17 year career with RCI down the drain is a shame.
While there is spin to everything, I recall seeing that the Brilliance's Captain was older and closer to retirement, and that he publicly stated that he felt bad for the experience the passengers had, and decided he didn't want to possibly have to do that again, so retired.
I truly believe that if Mr. Bayley's office said that he is still around, he is. It was my understanding that he was temporarily re assigned to the Ovation team. Having sailed with Claus for many years, it would be a shame if they just quietly swept him under the bus.
Only time will tell.
Rick

I see a pizza war starting. :eek::D
Gregg, it's not even close when it comes to pizza. Princess has been winning this contest for as long as I have sailed both lines. Food is subjective, and the two lines are comparable, but when it comes to pizza Princess wins hands down.:D
