  1. Oh dear, Mark, thatโ€™s certainly not the news you (and we) were hoping for, but hopefully, before your next birthday arrives, improvements in your daughterโ€™s health and yours will make next yearโ€™s birthday one of your best! You and Susan and your daughter will remain in my thoughts and prayers. ๐Ÿ™ Sue PS. Rickyโ€™s expression is so precious.
  2. Yes, so true and so sad. ๐Ÿฅฒ All of the holidays and birthdays and anniversaries in that first year after losing a loved one are so heart-wrenching. Iโ€™m hoping the message in that notice will give her some comfort. ๐Ÿ™
  3. How wonderful that your DNA-related search is progressing so positively!! ๐Ÿฅฐ I am soo happy for you!! ๐Ÿค—
  4. Hoping and praying ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป that they release him soon and that his health continues to improve. (((hugs))) Sue
  5. Here's the comparison photo for Texas and Rhode Island. It's even more amazing!! You can barely see the speck that is RI! (For those of you not familiar with the rankings of the states in the United States... Rhode Island is the smallest state in area and Texas is the second largest state. It is only smaller than Alaska.)
  6. Thatโ€™s for sure!! I found a website that lets you compare states. Itโ€™s quite remarkable just how small my state of Rhode Island is compared to your state of California. Yikes!!
  7. And have you ever heard the saying: People born and raised in Rhode Island have only 3 degrees of separation versus the usual 6?? ๐Ÿคฃ
  8. Hahah ๐Ÿคฃ same here!! My DH and I both have blue eyes along with our children and everyone in his family and my family going way back!
  9. @h20skibum ๐Ÿ‘‹ Cousin Mark ๐Ÿ˜‰, Just wanted to let you know that I will continue to keep your daughter and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, your daughterโ€™s biopsy reports will be favorable, and your grandsonโ€™s Covid symptoms will remain mild and your sonโ€™s symptoms will improve quickly. I also want to second @BonTexasNYBonnieโ€™s comment: โ€œYou and Susan are amazing parents and grandparentsโ€!!! Take care ๐Ÿ™, Your blue-eyed cousin Sue ๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. Aww, ๐Ÿฅฐ What a sweet story and precious photos! Thank you for sharing your memories with us. Best wishes and congratulations to you and Andy ๐Ÿ’• on your 35th wedding anniversary! ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿพ Sue
  11. Iโ€™m glad that your DH insisted that you add these photos.๐Ÿ˜Š Iโ€™m really enjoying your/his photography. And those costumes are so fascinating.
  12. Near Brenton Point on Ocean Drive the surf was very choppyโ€ฆ But the cove near comedian Jay Lenoโ€™s home on Ocean Drive was nice and calm. His home is the one with all the chimneys. Itโ€™s right on an oceanfront cliff with awesome views. (Of course I've never seen the views myself, but I did see the realtor's photos.) If I had to choose between his home and Judge Judyโ€™s. . . his would win by a landslide!! He bought his home about a year before Judge Judy bought hers. We usually go for a walk on the Cliff Walk, but hubbyโ€™s knee was bothering him and it was much too windy anyway. So, no pictures from there today.
  13. I know some of you are fans of Judge Judy, so we drove by her Newport home, so I could let you see some views of her home from the window of our car. Her home is not set back very far from the road. I suppose I could have zoomed in, but I didnโ€™t want to invade her privacy. A few years ago (maybe 5?) there were some local news reports about her purchasing the home and there was a link to a realtorโ€™s photos of the interior and the more scenic views from the other side of the home. It seems to be very lovely inside. Hereโ€™s the view from a couple of houses away. And hereโ€™s the view from the road just before one of the two driveways.
  14. It was a beautiful sunny day today in RI and we had an unusually warm temperature of 64ยบ , so hubby and I took a drive to Newport. Surprisingly, it was mostly deserted. I decided to post a few photos that I thought might interest my cruising friends. For those of you who have arrived in Newport by tenders landing at the usually very crowded Perrotti Park, hereโ€™s what it looks like in February with no cruise ships in port and very few tourists. And here is the view from Kingโ€™s Park where you can usually get great shots of an anchored cruise ship and/or pleasure boats from the spring through the fall - but not today.
  15. @dani negreanu So glad you are safe and there have been no more tremors!! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ Hope it stays that way!! So sorry to hear about the terror attacks though. ๐Ÿ˜ž The colors of that rainbow are so vibrant! You realllly needed that happy sign!! Yay!! ๐Ÿคฉ (I apologize for taking so long to reply to your post, but we left to take a ride over to Newport right after I posted my message to you. I'll upload some photos later and post them.)
  16. Dear Marietta, Iโ€™ll be keeping you and Charlie in my thoughts and will be praying that the MRI helps determine whatโ€™s going on. โค๏ธ Sue Sending (((Hugs))) and ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
  17. Oh, Dani, Iโ€™m so sorry those mild earthquakes are continuing. I will continue to keep you and your hubby in my thoughts and prayers. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Take care ๐Ÿ˜˜
  18. Prayers for Turkey and Syria and for you and your family and fellow countrymen. I hope you are not harmed by the Earthquakes. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ Sue

  21. @grapau27Oh my Goodness, Graham, I am so sorry to read about your dear Sarah's illness. You and Pauline and Sarah will be in my thoughts and prayers. ๐Ÿ™
  22. @dani negreanu Thank YOU, Dani!!, I have also learned sooo much from this thread!!! ๐Ÿค— I am very grateful that you started this thread waaaay back in April of 2020 during those scary early days of Covid. Having somewhere to go to read about how others were coping with the virus and the lockdown and later the promising results that you were reporting about Israelโ€™s success with the vaccine was very comforting. As the world began to โ€œopen back up againโ€ your thread was (and still is) the first thread I read, because I wanted to find out how and what my โ€œCruise Critic Buddiesโ€ were doing. I think itโ€™s great that so many people feel comfortable sharing their joys and sorrows as well as bits and pieces of their everyday lives in this community that youโ€™ve created. And even though I donโ€™t post very often, I truly enjoy reading your thread regularly. So many of us have been able to benefit from the information that is shared on your thread. I know I have enjoyed learning about others cultures, customs, travels, household and gardening tips, recipes, etc. and I look forward to many more!! I found this New Yearโ€™s wish that I would like to share with you and my โ€œCruise Critic Buddiesโ€ โ˜บ๏ธ โค๏ธ Sue
