  1. Your TA should  provide you with a copy of your cruise statement showing all the pertinent information concerning your cruise. Drink package, WiFi  cabin # etc.

Sometimes Celebrity runs a sale on Premium Drink package upgrades, your TA should be on top of that , but if you notice it on Celebrity website and or cruise critic let your TA know asap. You can always upgrade at the going rate before or onboard.

Once again, if you tell your TA what you have in mind to celebrate they can give you a few options.

Finally , once onboard go see the maitre d , see if he can help you secure an earlier dining time. I have found they do their best to accommodate you if possible.

    Good luck 🍀
Hope you all have a great cruise 🚢

    Happy Birthday to your Mom.

This is cruise critic, a balanced review should have pros and cons, I’ll focus on the cons

Simply put, people aren’t seeing the value they used to

-Price…X’s parent company, RCG, openly brags during their earnings call that they can keep raising the pricing (for context, way above inflation) and bookings don’t suffer

-Food…Some food items were cut while others were downgraded, many won’t notice or care

MDR sides…Most MDR entrees now come with a scoop of mashed potatoes which looks a little disappointing

-Food temp…95% of the time, we have had hot enough food, we’re not the plate needs to be sizzling type but those who are claim odds have increased of receiving food not hot enough to their liking

-Food service…There can just be long waits to get a table and receive your food

-Bar Service…Can be long waits during peak times as I experienced this first hand with a 20 minute wait on the beyond this past spring.  Some claim they cut bartenders

-Alcohol availability…Name brand liquor can be out of stock with either a house replacement or no replacement at all…Also, Wine by the glass out of stock or they tell you despite what the menu says, you can only buy the entire bottle

That waiting a long time for a drink is a direct result of all the prepaid drink packages.

The drinks and tips have already been paid for so from Celebrity’s position, why rush on the delivery? There used to be servers every 10 feet all over the ship asking if you wanted a drink.

    Unsure of the negativity myself.*

*I live under the rubric that life ought to be enjoyed to the best of a given circumstance.

Contrary to the grievance industry that you may find in this forum, which seemingly can produce an ad hominem attack for the slightest perceived offense, I wouldn't take it for more value than you might a grain of salt.

Granted, I've only sailed Edge class, and double occupancy, but the experience has been superb each time.**

**I would surmise that cabin class might influence outcome, in which case simply pay for what you read is likely to afford what you really want and value.

Edge class ships are wonderful. The prior generation ships, as you can research and view for yourself, look woefully outdated (and priced accordingly compared to Edge class).

It's a vacation. Who can have a problem with that? 😀

I have yet to sail on an edge class ship , my wife and I enjoy walking on the promenade deck which is not an option on the edge class ships. That said we have cruised on the s class and m class on numerous occasions and very much enjoyed our cruises.

Last but not least , there will be complaints from many folks consistently on these boards ,

However the name of the boards is “ cruise critic . “ 🤣

I am a very experienced cruiser but have my first Celebrity cruise booked for January 2025 on the Edge. Reading the posts here, everything is so negative. Should I cancel? Or are the people with positive things to say just not posting? No cruise line is perfect, and every cruise has made cuts due to budget, but is it so extreme on Celebrity. My favorite cruise line is Azamara and I often cruise solo. I also like Oceania but find there's not a lot to do on the ships. I like Princess too, but they don't do enough to engage the solo travelers or help them meet each other.

    Hi Jamie,

Celebrity is a fairly good cruise line , unfortunately, like many other companies they are not offering as much of a quality experience as they once did. Blame covid , high interest rates ect.... it is what it is.

That said, they still offer a pretty good product for the price , a lot of enjoyable things to do and pretty good food ( that is included in the cruise fare ).

Hope you enjoy your cruise, only you will be able to determine if Celebrity works for you after you have taken a cruise with them.

  5. It is no longer all inclusive.

it is a basic drink package and basic WiFi.

You may wish to wait for the features you want to go on sale and buy them separately.

For instance a non alcoholic drink package…..etc.

  6. I agree with the original post.
My instincts say that RCI knows the main clientele on Celebrity is not looking for the floating amusement park experience. ( Myself included ).

There was an earlier time in life that many X cruisers would have enjoyed that experience, but no pun intended, that ship has sailed.

100% Agree with you. It was not long ago that they were not charging solos a supplement at all due to desperation to fill cabins. I doubt that they will go back to that, but going back to standard solos pay 200% may be in the cards. I guess time will tell.

It’s all about supply and demand.

If the ports were shopping stops with beach activity, that's on you, not on HAL. Does that mean you took all HAL tours and that is what they were? I am sure they were described. Does it mean that you went to Caribbean islands with beaches? That's where the ship sailed to. If you just got off the ship and just walked around the port, that's on you. The port is what you make it, not what HAL makes it. Do a private tour. Go sailing or snorkeling. Explore the island on a jeep.

And most of the ship activities don't have sale pitches. The shows don't. The trivia contests don't. Many of the crafts don't and the contests don't. The photo gallery and art gallery always did. As far as the officers, I think that's pot luck as to each ship. You usually see a few in the bars or walking around and you can usually approach and say a few words.

Don’t understand what your post has to do with steaks 🥩 in the Pinnacle Grill ?

  9. Call me a dinosaur, I remember when this specialty restaurant thing was getting started, the cruise lines took the position that the extra fee they charged was for the extra service you received. In those days , there was no mandatory gratuity added to the fee. After all the cost for your meals was supposed to be included in your cruise fare. Now in 2024 high prices and Mandatory gratuity charged on top of that …..at what point does the pay more and get less cycle end ?

The same plastic is used in mouthwash bottles - and salad dressing bottles, and many others. The plastic water bottle ban, which ignores other bottles made of the same material, is probably just targeting the largest category of bottles brought on board. Certainly, there is nothing more (or less) environmentally detrimental in the material of manufacture.

Not to mention a revenue generator.

I know you're not allowed to bring any plastic water or soda bottles on board, but are you still allowed to bring on Listerine mouth rinse in a large bottle. Yes, it's really Mouthwash and not alcohol😂🤣

Absolutely not. Lot of bad breath onboard 🤣🤣.

Only kidding, my instincts tell me there is no problem bring mouthwash onboard.
