  1. It is no longer all inclusive.

it is a basic drink package and basic WiFi.

You may wish to wait for the features you want to go on sale and buy them separately.

For instance a non alcoholic drink package…..etc.

  2. I agree with the original post.
My instincts say that RCI knows the main clientele on Celebrity is not looking for the floating amusement park experience. ( Myself included ).

There was an earlier time in life that many X cruisers would have enjoyed that experience, but no pun intended, that ship has sailed.

100% Agree with you. It was not long ago that they were not charging solos a supplement at all due to desperation to fill cabins. I doubt that they will go back to that, but going back to standard solos pay 200% may be in the cards. I guess time will tell.

It’s all about supply and demand.

If the ports were shopping stops with beach activity, that's on you, not on HAL. Does that mean you took all HAL tours and that is what they were? I am sure they were described. Does it mean that you went to Caribbean islands with beaches? That's where the ship sailed to. If you just got off the ship and just walked around the port, that's on you. The port is what you make it, not what HAL makes it. Do a private tour. Go sailing or snorkeling. Explore the island on a jeep.

And most of the ship activities don't have sale pitches. The shows don't. The trivia contests don't. Many of the crafts don't and the contests don't. The photo gallery and art gallery always did. As far as the officers, I think that's pot luck as to each ship. You usually see a few in the bars or walking around and you can usually approach and say a few words.

Don’t understand what your post has to do with steaks 🥩 in the Pinnacle Grill ?

  5. Call me a dinosaur, I remember when this specialty restaurant thing was getting started, the cruise lines took the position that the extra fee they charged was for the extra service you received. In those days , there was no mandatory gratuity added to the fee. After all the cost for your meals was supposed to be included in your cruise fare. Now in 2024 high prices and Mandatory gratuity charged on top of that …..at what point does the pay more and get less cycle end ?

The same plastic is used in mouthwash bottles - and salad dressing bottles, and many others. The plastic water bottle ban, which ignores other bottles made of the same material, is probably just targeting the largest category of bottles brought on board. Certainly, there is nothing more (or less) environmentally detrimental in the material of manufacture.

Not to mention a revenue generator.

I know you're not allowed to bring any plastic water or soda bottles on board, but are you still allowed to bring on Listerine mouth rinse in a large bottle. Yes, it's really Mouthwash and not alcohol😂🤣

Absolutely not. Lot of bad breath onboard 🤣🤣.

Only kidding, my instincts tell me there is no problem bring mouthwash onboard.

  8. I used to have luck contacting the HAL folks in Seattle, but it seems to me that ship has sailed, no pun intended. When you dial the Seattle numbers now you usually get a person from another country on the the other end , they are usually polite and try hard but do not have the experience or know how to get your situation resolved in such a manner that you have a confident feeling when you hang up your phone after speaking with them.

Hello All.  Wondering if there is a listing of the primary crew members (e.g. Captain, Hotel Manager, Cruise Director, etc.) for the "Dam" ships somewhere?  I've been looking for a while and didn't see anything obvious.  Right now we are specifically interested int he Eurodam, but would be nice to be able to see the information for any future cruises as well.  Thanks so much for any assistance you can provide!

Current Captain on Eurodam is Captain Bly.🏴‍☠️

He is scheduled to be relieved soon by Captain Hook 🪝.

Only kidding, hope you have a great cruise 🚢.

I am wondering if it is still true in this day, that cell phones can connect to the ships tower and rack up unwanted roaming charges?

We always put our phone in Airplane mode and turn on wifi when we board a ship if we purchased an internet package. If not, we just turn them off and put them away.

I'm just wondering if that is still true about cell phones connecting to the ships tower and getting a surprise bill from your carrier if you forget to turn them off, or put in airplane mode?

    Thanks!

    you are correct.

This is to share information from another forum, not a question - For solo travelers wanting to book a cruise under the current promotion. I noticed that when I priced a cabin for 2 people (2nd person 75% off), it was almost $2000 USD less than when I priced the same cabin for 1 person. As I do travel solo, I spoke with a Celebrity representative who informed me that around Dec 10th Celebrity sent an email to all of their travel representatives that solo travelers were EXCLUDED from the current promotion and any BOGO promotion going forward! And, he confirmed that the current promotion would run until around April 7th! As I think it's unfair for a solo traveler to be paying more for the same cabin on the same cruise than 2 people (the price should be the same not more for only 1 person occupacy in the cabin), the person mentioned that there is something some may consider. Basically, book the cruise at the no perks rate for two people (a friend who may consider the cruise). If you remove the second person before the cruise, the price will revert to the current solo price. But, if you just keep the person on the reservation and they are a "no-show" at the port - then you are refunded the port fees and taxes for the second person. What you have to consider is drink packages as you may need to get the same package for all adults in the stateroom (most of the time - there was a provision for non-drinkers), and I don't know if the drink package would be refunded for the "no-show". This is just to share information.

Maybe you could buy the drink package once onboard for 1 person ?
