  1. Thank you for all your replies. Just interested as a value comparison! I don't think I could buy a car for what my necklace was worth- we also had a good OBC so very happy with purchase and look forward to wearing it on QE Christmas Cruise
  2. My husband bought me a necklace with a small diamond cluster when on board in March. I received a valuation certificate from Cunard. I took it to a local up market jeweller in Australia to have it valued and was pretty disappointed that the value was much less than Cunard's valuation. Anyone else experienced this? However I love it and get plenty of comments when wearing it- just interested in getting a second opinion!
  3. Dear Deck chair, I think you mean 2021, not 2001. You were lucky to get a spot- not much left!
  4. Thank you for all your replies. Lovely group photo!😍
  5. Can anyone on board at the moment tell me the name of the Matre’d in Queens Grill on Queen Elizabeth?

    Queen's suite

Is the new build definitely Queen Anne.?

    Queen's suite

re suite 8174 - firstly too much furniture in the cabin- large chaise at the foot of the bed, large armchair which also seemed to be "in the way" and was very heavy to move.Safe in the bottom shelf of the cupboard which meant going on your knees to open or close it. (not good for oldies) Vanity with mirror in the bedroom area- mirror too high up. I am 5ft 7 and when sitting on the chair to dry my hair with their hair dryer or do my make up, I could only see the top of my head? Wardrobe had a rail half way down. This meant any long dresses were sitting on the rail causing them to be creased. Magnifying mirror in bathroom set into the vanity door. This was also too far up and was useless. Also missed the Cunard wall clock. Not everyone wants to use their mobile phones. Bathroom was lovely with a very large bath, good shower and double basins. I much prefer the older Q5 and Q6 as much more room.

    Queen's suite

we had what was a Q4 8174 just after QV was refurbished. It was the most inconvenient cabin we have ever had ???. however the bathroom was wonderful- the best we have ever had and very luxurious. Does anyone know if this is still Q4? this year we had a corner aft on deck 4 of QV and we enjoyed it very much. about to try another deck 4 cabin QG mid aft on QE, so looking forward to comparing.
  9. Always book QG at least once a year for the last 10 years, we have never had a call re bar set up but the Butlers have all been very helpful with our choice (large bottles) and also beer preference for himself!
  10. I would love to hear about this cabin . Any comments would b e helpful Are there 2 washbasins in the bathroom.? May be comments in r eviews but I was unable to find any

thank you for your replies. In Australia I don't believe you need to pay anything until a cabin has cleared? Then you pay the deposit etc etc. I will do some checking. Lucky Elephant 1151 on the full World Voyage, we have cruised lots of segments over the years but only managed about 23 days each time. Enjoy this lovely ship! We are on QE in December but QV is our favourite!

We are wait listed for QG from SFO to Syd for Feb 2021 on QV What are the chances. Is there a trick to be first in line.?
  13. book with a TA face to face. Find one who is a Member of CLIA (cruise lines international association) Members are usually fully trained and more importantly they are able to get the best deals for your cruise and also they know who to contact if there is a problem good luck
  14. Sailed twice on QV, once in the Med and once in Asia with these wrap around cabins .Once on deck 8 and once on deck 4. We sometimes heard the deck chairs being put out on deck 8 but that never bothered us. We did not hear any bands etc when they were playing on Deck 8, either. The wrap around also has the advantage for good viewing either from the front balcony or the side balcony we are booked again on QE with a similar corner suite. Advantages of these aft cabins is that they are large and also you can keep very fit doing your power walk several times a day to the B elevators.!!!
  15. Thank you everyone for your interesting replies. Do the invitations come in a nice white envelope or just a generic one popped in the slot in the door way (which was the case on our last cruise with our names on a label stuck on) - Not like the “Old Days”
