  1. It doesn't matter what language he speaks, the only language is one that MSC speaks and that is "cargo". Passengers are cargo. I personally have had multiple run ins with no compensation including getting a lawyer to go after them. Bottom line is they can do anything they want and if you don't like it. Well....... I have had a 14 night cruise changed to a 17 night. Had to change my airfare not only to a different date but a different country. Costed me a change fee. Then a few weeks later they changed it to an 18 night. Change fee again. No compensation. How about I had a YC Grand suite for a week paid in full and they bumped me out and put me in a regular balcony cabin with no YC access and no reduction in fare? They called it an operational change. They gave the ship to a full charter group. T&C say I get to choose another cruise with a 1 category upgrade. Never happened. There are more things that have been done to me. YC is too good of a product for me to not sail them.
  2. Yes it would have. Some people don't like songs about booze, others drugs. Some people have family demons
  3. I buy thru Lloyds of London and it covers basically everything but it is not cheap. They will sell you customized policies.
  4. The staff did not do their job. Several hours later I brought it to the attention of the YC director. When I spoke to the staff member the next day they told me they are instructed to not say no to things. So to give you a little more info, I asked that staff member if later in the day I came into top sail and lit up a cigarette would they tell me to put it out? He said yes. Both are not allowed but apparently they pick and choose. So if you think a personal music device, a guitar, and singing religious songs that could be heard across the top sail is acceptable I am glad I will be sailing with the other stuffy people.
  5. Just got off 8 days ago. Very nice ship overall. Was in YC so my experience is different. If you decide to try it, use a travel agent. I can't stress that enough. The biggest bad is customer service. Keep in mind Italian ship so some things are different.
  6. Did you buy travel insurance? If not, it's all on you unfortunately. Will air tickets allow you to change flights? Fly to Rome or another port and grab a different ship.
  7. Call the butler. They can go get it from main kitchen and bring to you.

  9. Wow, Given his build and such they will more than likely let him in because 12 year olds would be intimidated. He needs to be a "non" gentle giant for a few minutes when you make the request. Rough and tough don't belong with 12 year olds.
  10. We were there with you and yes dinner was terrible. We saw many people sitting in top sail waiting for a table to be open. I also was not happy the day it rained and then stopped around lunch outside and they did not squeegee off the deck. All other ships they were right on it.
  11. Are you in the Yacht club? if so its basically a done deal. You might run into the bracelet issue based on color. We have had a five year old and a seven being given different colors on Seaview but Meraviglia they had the same color yet different clubs If not then that will depend on the number of kids. If you are sailing a vacation week it may be tough. I sailed with my other young grand kids last year on Meraviglia and his birthday was only 2 weeks away and it was a no. I spoke to the YC concierge and it became a yes. Funny thing was after 20 minutes they did not want to stay and did not go back. If he is allowed tell him to keep his age quite while with the older group.
  12. It is excellent. Just stupidity overall. One person wrecks it for many others and the crew does nothing about it. The cracks from other people sitting near me were pretty funny After I moved. Enjoy.
  13. Just got off Seashore on YC. More forward is closer to lounge and restaurant. Aft is closer to stairs and elevator up to pool. Both floors are good. Just us a TA!!
  14. SR= Service request. This stores all you communications on the issue. You send an email to MSCs customer email and they reply back with the SR number. Reference that each time you call. I always use a TA "now". Too bad they wouldn't let you. Complain onboard, they will take care of it by reducing your tip amount. So basically they will screw you over first and the crew to fix it.
  15. Use a travel agent!! That is my #1 recommendation. Great product but the worst customer service if you have an issue.
  16. Been through all you have posted. They even said they were going to cover my airfare change fees after changing dates, countries and more twice on the same sailing .Never saw it. I even had to get an attorney for one issue. Unless you can get a supervisor involved, even then it won't help much, you might be out of luck. Do you have an SR number. Basically they are screwing you over. They don't care. I would probably try to contact the TA you used before even though they didn't have this booking and see if their rep can help. Great product lousy CS.
  17. Temporarily! Happened mid afternoon, spoke with YC manager 8 hours later when I saw her. Why 8 hours later? I already spoke to the staff and was told its allowed. When I saw YC manager is when I double questioned it. It seemed wrong. Still wrecked a wonderful sea day afternoon in the wonderful Top sail lounge.
  18. Got of the Seashore this past Sunday. It has always been great in the Top Sail. Despite all of my issues, I love the product, but every now and then I am left shaking my head. On a sea day, I was in the Top sail playing cards right next to the stair case going up to the restaurant on the left side mid afternoon in order to stay out of the sun, when a guy came in with a Guitar and an Ipad. He proceeded to sit up front of the stair case and began playing music on the ipad, playing his guitar, and singing 😱. I spoke to the servers and they told me it was allowed???? I ended up having to move to the far other side into the sun just to escape it. It was the Olive garden music over run with religious songs and other songs. I looked up online and I did not see it as a prohibited item. I ended up speaking to the YC Manager and she told me it absolutely was not allowed nor was the personal music device without headphones,and did I know their cabin number. I told her that is not my job but her staffs job to deal with that. She told me if it happens again to ask for her. I told her no, that puts me in an odd position and that its her job to notify her staff that if it happens again to take care of it. She said she will address it to all later which she did as a server, did come over to me and apologized later. How did it even get on board? Decent cruise, Embarkation was good, disembarkation was not smooth using self assist as hundreds of passengers were already ahead of us despite being first group off of YC.
  19. Only use a TA!!!! Costs you nothing and they can deal with the many potential problems when and if they pop up. They change your cabin They change your dates They change your embarkation port They down grade you from a Yacht club cabin to a regular balcony with no reduction in fare. They charge you more for no reason Have had all of the above personally happen. Steve
  20. It does to a point. O I no longer sail in anything but Haven but triple points gives me a statement credit. So a $10,000 haven gets me 30,000 points which results in a $300 statement credit which is free money for doing nothing but charging and paying it off. Steve
  21. Just do a search for the largest cruise agency in the USA.
