  1. I am a local and you will be fine, As long as you are "in" a vehicle by 9am.
  2. When did they get a customer service dept? As far as the website and app, it's probably the best go-daddy has to offer.😁
  3. Was just there a week and a half ago on Seascape. Actually a very nice contained port. Plenty of shops and a craft market. Actually much nice than OR. Once you leave the gated area it becomes a little less....nice. Get off for a half hour or so and walk around.
  4. I am a local As mentioned , many shuttles leaves when full and then make many stops. Just rent a car near the port. Also grab an Uber or taxi as the rental shuttle can be a disaster.
  5. I am a local. Gate for jetty will be closed at that time, maybe. It's sometimes open all the time. If you drive up to the gate and it's locked. Turn left an a couple hundred feet ahead is a parking lot for the boat ramps and tackle shop. Park there and watch the ship come in.
  6. I am a local. I would not attempt walking as it's very dangerous with so many out of towners, but it is doable. As far as taxis go. Stand in the cue and hop in. They have to take you. Keep in mind it's hot here so if you decide to walk, be thankful you have your luggage so you can change when you get there.😁
  7. Msc usually does nothing unless you are 17 and under. I have been on two in the last 7 weeks and have seen nothing
  8. I have done more YC out of the USA than in and personally I don't find much of a difference. We have never had a continuous good butler. Most after Midnight are useless. Try getting something at 2am and it takes forever. On a side note, NCL Haven is worse from our perspective. But in fairness we have never been in the enclave (except for Prima). We always have had our Haven room in or near the Aft.
  9. Great. You will love it. Just use a TA or transfer it to one. Don't risk it on MSC on your own.
  10. Just off seaside 3 days ago. Yes you can use aurea and yes you can eat in aurea restaurant. We did show up unanounced with friends (we ate in YC first) Bumped into them and we only had desert, but we just showed our YC cards and it was no issue.
  11. From a Yacht club perspective, we also preferred EU food to USA.
  12. Here's the link to the thread. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2994996-msc-wrecking-yc-was-a-great-product/#comment-67015797
  13. You need to screen shot it and call unfortunately but they will fix it.
  14. And you will get the chance to upgrade but you will not get it even if you bid max. Reason is because your cruise is zero $ in the system.
  15. Everything including excursions and even casino will pay 3x
  16. For clarity, the winds are real bad and seating is not available at ocean house. Just three tables. All the lawn furniture is being used.
  17. Makes sense. I am not on that site. But I was contacted by this board years ago to stop posting something as they kept deleting it.
  18. This week was a first for this. I never saw it before. Could be everyone is an early eater and doesn't want to leave YC. Currently on the private island. Ocean house area is packed. We cannot even get a seat right now at 1:15. Everyone is here, not on the beach it seems
  19. You can just arrive and at 5 minutes they will let you in if there are seats.
  20. Was told yesterday that they are adding to ocean house. Basically roof structures to cover guests for sun and rain and to allow for better furniture. Another interesting thing was there is going to be a new channel cut so ships can sail in one way and out the other. I asked if they will be able to dock two ships at the same time and was told. We will see.
  21. Currently on Seascape, was on Seashore last month. Both a YCGS cabin. This is just my observation and my opinion. Older class of ships had 80 cabins and beautiful top sail lounge, restaurant and sun deck. New class has about 130 cabins but no additional space. The issues have been people are needing to wait to eat dinner till a table is available. Was not as bad on Seashore. Top sail lounge has not had enough seats available in the evening to accommodate everyone and drink service has been slower. The private island restaurant does not have enough space either so plastic tables and chairs are all around. Shaded areas on the sundeck are hard to find. Simply put, when you add 60% more capacity to the same space, you create your own problems. Now they are shutting down the island to allow the new mega World America to be able to dock. More YC cabins and more YC passengers. Next there won't be enough loungers on YC island.
  22. I used to agree but now I am having second thoughts. Currently on Seascape in YC and it's been not as good as before. I was on Seashore last month and it started going down then. I will post a new thread on it. Problem is too many people and not enough space.
  23. On Seascape right now. If you take longer than 75 minutes to eat than the shows could be can issue. 7:30 and 9:30. So eat at 6 and catch 9:30 show. If you book MSC, use a TA! Doesn't cost you nothing but gives you a safety net.
  24. You will get 15,000 points each time which is worth $150. So after 50 months you would have enough points for a cash out to pay for the Haven. But after you cashed all the points in for $7500 and pay the Haven you would get triple points for that which would be worth $200. If not doing upgrades it's lousy.
