  1. HAL, Princess and Celebrity are our favorite lines but I love the 2,000 passenger Signature Class ships of HAL like the Eurodam, even when full they never feel crowded plus they have the traditional promenade decks which for me is a big plus. All 3 lines I mentioned give you a solid cruise product and for or us it all comes down to price, the line that gives me the itinerary that I'm looking for and at a good price gets our business.
  2. I was in the Air Force, we have a different mindsets.
  3. We’ve been on 67 cruises in 40 years and have made some nice friends through the years but now we are extremely happy with our table for 2.
  4. In case you have dinner mates you are not compatible with or they with us. We are seeing more and more couples as the months go by sitting at tables for 2.
  5. We always book a table for 2, just in case.
  6. It's been hit or miss for us. We were on the Equinox last week and booked a cruise on the Reflection, it was the same price as when I looked it up online before the cruise but by booking on board we picked up an extra 100 dollars in OBC and a reduced deposit.
  7. We were on the Equinox on the August 7th cruise, what does a Covid cough sound like, so far we haven't come down with Covid and have been on 5 cruises since Thanksgiving. We heard very little coughing during our cruise, I probably coughed more than anyone because of allergies. We were also the June 12 cruise and the Captain on the last night said they had 2 passengers come down with Covid during the cruise, of course some could have come down with it after returning home. On both cruises the Equinox had around 2,300 passengers and we had a great cruise both times.
  8. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Excellent quote, I've read a few Nicholas Sparks books and have enjoyed them on recommendations from my DW. Another good selection of days even though we refuse to travel on airplanes. Catfish is pretty good but only when fried so we don't eat it a lot, maybe 3 or 4 times a year. We've been to Croatia but only to Dubrovnik. Early tee time today. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.
  9. Simply amazing that the tire didn't come off with only having 1 lug nut, glad that no one was hurt in what could have been a terrible accident.
  10. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Another great quote from Ghandi. Some strange days. Not sure what the meal is but Pina Coladas are pretty good. Didn't McHale's Navy take place in New Caledonia? Funny show but never been there. Thanks for the Daily, stay well and have a great day.
  11. Extra gratuities are strictly up to you. We usually tip our cabin steward 25 dollars on the last night of the cruise. We always have dinner in the MDR and give our waiter 25 dollars and his assistant 20 dollars.
  12. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Nice selection of days. Good quote also. Stuffed shells are very good. Never been to Chile but we've been to South America. Heading to the golf course in a few minutes. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.
  13. Us Senior Floridians would really like to see some Two-fers in the Specialty Restaurants, drinks and internet. LOL.
  14. How about a hockey game in a packed arena with 20,000 screaming fans.
  15. We are in the same boat as you, we've been on 5 cruises since Thanksgiving and have avoided coming down with Covid. We avoid large crowds by not hopping on crowded elevators and isolating in the lounges and showroom. We are early risers and usually the first ones in the buffet for breakfast, for lunch we eat at 11:30 in the buffet when it's not as crowded. We dine in the MDR at 5:15 or 5:30 when it's also not crowded. We also mask up when we are indoors. We are in our mid 70s and just cruise the Caribbean and have been to most of the islands, some over 30 times so we seldom leave the ship unless we feel the need to walk around a port, no need for tours as we've been there and done that. It Helps living in Florida and driving to Port Everglades or other ports and not being in crowded airports and packed airplanes.
  16. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. I like the quote. I think we have a misprint with 2 National Roller Coaster days, that's OK as in my youth I was a roller coaster freak, those from Chicago will remember Riverview Park and it's 5 roller coasters including The Bobs which was my favorite of all time. Back in the day at Riverview you could stay on the rides as many times as you liked, first ride was 25 cents and 10 cents for each additional ride, we would ride the Bobs usually 5 times. I'm not much of a joke teller but love hearing a good joke. Pass on the meal and libation. I have mixed feelings with the cruise lines doing away with testing, things will be a lot easier but unfortunately Covid is still with us Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.
  17. We eat 3 meals a day on a cruise, breakfast and lunch in the buffet and dinner in the dining room. We don't pig out, for breakfast I usually have some oatmeal and a bagel with lox., other mornings 2 eggs with some bacon and an English Muffin. For lunch a bowl of soup and a sandwich with a small dessert. For dinner, usually a shrimp cocktail or other appetizer, a salad and a main course with another small dessert. No snacking between meals except for a banana or apple around 3PM. We aren't big drinkers and have 1 cocktail each in the Ocean Bar before dinner. We were on the Equinox last week and I gained 1 pound which is about normal for me.
  18. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. I'm in on Relaxation Day and Best Friends Day, not sure what Acadian Day is in Canada. Meal sounds good. We had a great time on our cruise on the Equinox last week, everything was very good except for the last night when they had a extremely loud hard rock group, we left the showroom after 1 song. Strange that Celebrity would book a hard rock group. Off to the golf course, hope I still have my game. Thanks for The Daily, stay and well and have a great day.
  19. Good morning from beautiful Key West Florida. Day 2 on our Western Caribbean cruise on the Equinox. 2,300 on board. So far everything has been great. Embarkation was a breeze, meals have been very good. Great show last night with a group called the Company Men who sang songs from Motown to oldies rock and roll. Looking forward to tonight’s show which will have a lady vocalist featuring Whitney Houston songs. Speciality restaurants are getting pretty pricey with Murano now charging 60 dollars per person. You can get a package for 179 dollars for 4 specialty restaurants which is a more reasonable but we’ve been on this ship 4 times and the food in the MDR has always been very good. We are at sea tomorrow and Grand Cayman on Wednesday. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.
  20. Thanks, we tested negative this AM and are good to go.
  21. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Funny quote today. Good selection of days The meal is something I would try. I'm not sure about the drink though I do love apple pie. We have never been to Germany. We are off to Fort Myers in a few minutes for our Covid Rapid Test as we sail tomorrow on the Equinox out of Port Everglades. Next cruise is on December 4th on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.
  22. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Hard to argue with the quote. I've never been much of a beer drinker, can't remember the last time I had one, maybe at a baseball game. A National Underwear Day is sort of silly. It will be interesting to find out what the meal is. Teed off at 7:30 this AM and we finished at 10:30 so we sort of beat the heat but not the humidity, not in Florida in the summer. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.
