  1. One mile from Kings Highway Exit 170. 8AM will put you right on schedule for arriving at PE around 10:20. My fastest time was 2 hours 10 minutes.
  2. Yep, still at the same club, 3 miles away instead of a half mile. Enjoy your Reflection cruise.
  3. Greetings from beautiful Port Charlotte First of all we had a very nice 9 day nice cruise on the Equinox to Grand Cayman, Aruba and Curacao. The entertainment was the best we have had in 73 cruises. No problem with food with dinners from good to excellent. As usual the buffet on Celebrity ships continue to be outstanding with amazing variety. Our next cruise is May 11 on the Enchanted Princess. So we returned on Saturday the 24th and the next 7 days were tough with our move, actually everything went pretty smooth but still the little stuff adds up and wears you out. The movers moved all the heavy stuff but we made 3 trips in the SUV with boxes the day before the movers came last Friday. Comcast showed up yesterday so we have WI FI but I cut the Cable and signed up with FUBO streaming service. We are halfway through with address changes with is another pain. Have a great day and stay well.
  4. IMHO everything is overpriced on a cruise ship from the drinks (4 dollars for water is insane) to the Wi-Fi to the specialty restaurants and everything else in between but we’ve been on 73 cruises and will still cruise but watch how we spend our money
  5. We are in our late 70s with 73 cruises and hardly ever get off the ship, for us and having been to many places many times the ship is our vacation destination, we love when we have the ship just about to ourselves.
  6. Back in the day when ships weren’t as large as they are now I remember there being 9 ships in port on a Saturday or Sunday.
  7. Same with me, my mother died on Valentine’s Day in 2005. Went in for surgery for congestive heart problems and died on the operating table. A sad note was that she loved the Chicago White Sox and was a die hard fan and they won the World Series in October of 2005, first time since 1917, it broke my heart that she wasn’t around to see it just 9 months later.
  8. The Equinox has a so called putting green with real grass on deck 15, the only trouble the grass is way too long, more like a fairway that needs cutting. The truth is I don’t want to look at a golf club for awhile.
  9. Didn’t come close with an 84. Today I shot 37 on the front so I figured I’d do it today but fell apart with a 44 on the back, our team lost by 1 shot plus I was cut on 2 Closies, I’m ready for the cruise.
  10. Benny, that’s impressive getting Wordle in one. Do you use the same opening word all the time? I use 3 and rotate them or if I have a gut feeling I go out of rotation, the 3 are NOISE, ALIEN and ATONE.

Lauderdale tomorrow morning for our 9 day cruise on the Equinox, I’ll won’t be posting during the cruise as I take a rest from the internet when cruising, I need a rest from golf also Have a great day and stay well

  17. Right now it’s more than minor irritants with HAL.
  18. You didn’t bother to post my whole thread but yes when you’re use to evening turndown service for 44 years of cruising with chocolates on the pillow then all of a sudden it’s one thing after another that is being taken away from us then it’s good bye HAL, we will stick with Celebrity and Princess.
  19. You can make light of it but we also think HAL has issues, we are 4 Star Mariners and HAL has had just too many cutbacks with service, entertainment and dining. Our last cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam was horrible, one morning I had scrambled eggs that were frozen, they rationed out butter like it was gold, I like lox and bagels for breakfast and the lox was gray instead of pink and tasted like it was tainted, I complained to the head waiter in the Lido had brought me some nice and pink fresh lox but the next day it was back to gray so I just gave up. Meals in the MDR were so so but I did have some pretty good Dover sole one night but the portion was a joke, 3 bites and done. Entertainment on HAL is a joke with hardly any shows in the main showroom, now they’ve cut out Lincoln Center and I heard BJ Kings is being phased out. Since the pandemic sort of ended we have sailed 10 times on HAL, Princess and Celebrity, HAL is the only line that cut out evening turndown service so we are done with HAL after many wonderful cruises with them, it’s too bad but they have lost us as loyal passengers. As far as gratuities, we have never lowered or withdrawn them but the last 2 cruises with HAL we didn’t reward anyone with any extra cash gratuities during or on the last day of the cruise.
