We tend to visit the same bartenders/bars once we find the "best" ones on the ship, and they typically don't need to be told to use a voucher. If we're using an unfamiliar bar, we'll specify just to be on the safe side, and they will also often tell you how many vouchers you have left. You can also usually use your spouse's vouchers if you're in the same cabin/same folio.

We have found that in the main dining room, they may not run the drink through immediately, so if you head out elsewhere in the ship afterwards, you may get incorrect information about the number of vouchers left. Happened to me, and guest services took care of it the next day when I had an unwarranted charge. Sometimes even when we specified whose card was to be dinged for the voucher in the MDR they would still not always get it right.

You can check things on the app, too. Bar charges or voucher usage show up almost instantly.

I’m wondering  in the main dining room or any restaurants I turn in my 4 vouchers a get a bottle of wine value $56 and higher and pay the difference. TIA

The vouchers can be used to purchase any alcoholic drink with a value up to $14. If you want a drink that costs more than $14, you can use a voucher for the first $14 and then pay the difference of your more expensive drink plus 18% added to the extra cost. Most alcoholic drinks on RCI ships now cost, or are very near to, $14. So, a "regular" martini will cost $14 and you can use a voucher to purchase it. If you want a more expensive martini, you'll have to pay anything above the $14 voucher value.

Can  we use the voucher to buy a bottle of wine and of course pay the difference? TIA

We almost always book grand suites , we did allure a couple of years ago and enjoyed it , suite lounge has a 3 hour happy hour where you can order your drinks at the bar or there is table service with waiters, wine beer and water are available all day.

Whats the difference between the Grand suite an the Owner suite  are they both Sky Class

    Benefits TIA

Some things you will do differently with a grand suite on Oasis class:

Don't buy an Internet package, each person in the suite gets a Voom package.

Don't worry about booking shows, the suite concierge will book shows for you. Let them know if you have any scheduling requests.

Ask your concierge to book dinners for you in advance, both specialty dining and Coastal Kitchen reservations.

Anything you would go to guest services for, go to your concierge instead. No need to wait in line, the concierge is a member of the guest services team.

We enjoy getting together in the suite lounge before dinner for a drink and hors d'oeuvres. And/or drinks and dessert after dinner before the show.

We like to have our Coffe and an almond croissant daily in the morning like 7 AM we are sailing Quantum  Sky Class. No Genei/ butler  is this service provided by the concierge do we have to make a request Daily TIA

This thread is very helpful as we are sailing in our first Star Class on Symphony in June.  Hopefully, we get a good Genie, and our experience is one to remember!

Fingers cross we are doing Anthem of the Seas. O.S Sky Class NO. Genie No Butler

Don  really know what we are up against …lol.

The original poster was doing Harmony out of Galveston.  Is that your port also?

The reason I ask is every port is a little different, but the trend for Royal lately is that boarding is relatively quick.  We arrived a little earlier than planned at Galveston and even though we were star class and had “priority boarding” they were already on boarding group 3 by the time we were walking on the ship

We are boarding in Southampton UK

I think the writing is on the wall about the exclusion of Ds from the Crown Lounge....not just during Happy Hour.

IMHO...hence the reason for the rush to change all the name plates on the doors.   Suites Lounge/Concierge lounges for suites....Crown Lounge for D+ and Pinnies.   Like it or not...I think that is the route that is coming...RCI just easing into it a little at a time.

Though years ago when they dumped Ds out of the then Concierge Lounges...it was all at once...rip off the bandaid.  😮

I’m wondering if Sea class pax are aloud in C/L

Royal Suite Class has three levels (Sea, Sky and Star) on the larger ships (Oasis-, Quantum- and Icon-Class).  Many people refer to Sky and Star Class levels as full suites. Sea Class is Junior Suites with fewer benefits.

If sailing a suite on an older/smaller Royal ship, you come under the Royal Caribbean Suites Program.  Again, a Junior suite has fewer benefits.  On these ships, there is no Coastal Kitchen suite restaurant.

    Got it thanks

Eh...don't feel bad.   Pinnacles really never know if they have access to SL or Concierge Lounges any longer either, until we board.  Unless we are in a full suite, which 99% of the time we are.

Since you still have to use your vouchers even in the Crown Lounge...there is no reason not to use them around the ship in the various lounges as well if you have restricted access.

Full suite ? dos it means there is half ? Partial suites ?

    Kinda confuse TIA

Flights from Southampton airport are only to domestic and European airports, the nearest airports for inter-continental flights are London Heathrow LHR (60 miles, average 90 minutes) and London Gatwick LGW (90 miles, 1 hr 45 mins).

You can fly Southampton to several European hubs including several flights daily to Amsterdam and Paris, but most who fly to North America find direct flights from those London airports much simpler, quicker and more economical

Some are better - and more expensive - than others, but there are none listed that I'd caution against.

Most popular near H.I. / cruise terminals / train & coach stations / city centre & old-town restaurants, pubs, shops, sights, etc are Premier Inn West Quay, Moxy, and Leonardo Royal Grand Harbour (see the thumbnail map at the bottom of that web-page). None of the other hotels on that page are more than a £10 taxi-ride from any cruise terminal.

Fingers-crossed this isn't for around 10th - 24th September, when hotels get booked-out for Southampton International Boat Show.

Don't be enticed by either of the Holiday Inn Expresses, which are both out on the city limits.

    JB 🙂

    Thank you very valuable information

Depending on your LHR terminal, Westquay's pick-up point may not be exactly the same as @LeeW, but it will certainly be in the terminal Arrivals Hall.

Excluding any major delays, drive-time about 80 to 90 minutes.

They're Southampton-based - definitely pre-book & get a fixed price, but the same applies to any LHR / Southampton operator.

Don't just take a taxi from the airport taxi-rank - taxis are fine for short journeys but for that distance it'd cost your entire cruise budget and the taxi driver could buy a retirement apartment in Spain 😏

    JB 🙂

    Haha.  Thank you so much

If you don't mind cost the folks at westquaycars do a great job.  Around  140 pounds.   They pick up in front of smith's store just to right of international flight exit.   We used them to hotel in southampton. App won't download in us but you can set it up with email and call in credit card number later.

    Thanks

I think this a good option how long it takes from the airport to undecided hotel in Southampton do you have to reserve  and prepay ?TIA
