  1. As I’m sure others have stated, I’d much prefer the $50 with grats, drinks & Wi-Fi to the $60 one with the fancier desserts. I’d like to think I’ll try the fitness classes but we’ll see.
  2. I still haven’t figured that out. And fresh juice appeals to me more than the special desserts.
  3. We were on the Carnival Miracle in May, 2022, out of SF. Our first time back on Carnival in 10 years. MDR food was surprisingly good. Can confirm that there were no tablecloths and there was singing and dancing. MDR sea day brunch was excellent.
  4. Wow, things are changing. It was still Chocolate Journeys on the Ruby in Sept
  5. Pretty sure the Curtis Stone partnership has ended. His SHARE restaurant on Ruby was replaced by Sabatinis and there was no mention of him. Maybe that’s why they’re sometimes offering Ernesto burgers in the MDR. Hope we get to try one. If not, well, the Wheel House has them on most ships for a price. The partnership with Norman Love endures, so Chocolate Journeys fans can rejoice.
  6. The second one sounds a lot like the Ernesto burger.
  7. Did the Caesar have kale? I’m still adjusting to that.
  8. CC used to be a great source of cruising info. I've learned so much. Lately, it's becoming NextDoor at sea. I'm about to give up on the Top 10 as it's mostly people moaning about some perceived slight.
  9. Apparently it has spread. https://www.sunset.com/food-wine/flavors-of-the-west/in-search-real-fish-taco
  10. Fish tacos are a west coast thing. California and Baja mostly. The fish can be grilled or breaded and fried. Quality varies greatly.
  11. We almost always carry off. We’ve always been assigned a debark group, time, and meeting place, and the self debark is fairly early in the morning. Bit of a scramble getting breakfast - MDR and buffet will be too slow, so we grab a breakfast sandwich at the International Cafe (Princess) or a breakfast burrito at the Cantina (Carnival)
  12. I’ve been on four cruise lines. They all let passengers flout the dress code. The guidelines are guidelines, not rules.
  13. Unless you show up in a Speedo they’ll probably let you in. I normally go with slacks or dark jeans and a button down. Sometimes add a sport coat.
  14. Elation has my vote. Most of the rest of the fantasy class ships are already gone.
  15. Looks like a fun cruise. For a moment I thought you had a stop in Ocho Rios (which is a ghetto) but Falmouth should be nice. Enjoy!
  16. You may be on to something. We always enjoy the frozen coconut bars when we visit Mexico.
  17. Juice is indeed included with the original Plus package. Juice bar is some kind of smoothie thing.
  18. Confirmed. I just logged on and got the same thing. Drinks up to $15 are covered but no fitness, juice bar or special desserts. Not sure about the free medallion shipping but that’s a small thing.
  19. Love the deck names. Reminds me of the old Love Boat TV show. But I’d still sail even if they were just numbers.
  20. We recently took five day cruises from SF on Carnival and Princess with similar itineraries. The Carnival cruise was $150 less per person, but lacked the Princess Plus package (booze, internet, gratuities). Which made the Carnival cruise slightly more expensive overall. If they raise their prices, they won't be competitive.
  21. OBC is by room type. $100/pp for balcony. $150 for mini suite best I know.
  22. Our confirmation lists, among the 7 Princess Perks, “Juice Bar”. Does anyone know what that means? Is there a juice bar on the Emerald or does this just mean fresh juice anytime you want it like the regular Princess Plus package?
  23. Same thing happened to me. I just got off the phone with Princess who confirmed that I got the standard fare - none of the 7 Princess Perks. To get those it's an extra $60/person/day. I think something is wrong with the website.
