Thank you so much! You have an excellent way of taking a photo that absolutely gives a great visual to a space. If it fits into your schedule, a request for pictures of the gym and, specifically, the area with the machines. And, due to conversation here about the new area of AQ staterooms and what has happened to the men's/women's locker rooms and the public dry sauna area within those facilities.... again, if it fits into your schedule, I am so interested in how this area of the ship was changed.
Rest day today and in Solarium though it’s overcast. Managed by fluke to find the Sauna which is still in the men’s changing room. I don’t know if it’s smaller etc

Day 1 cont Eventually got to the room and found they’d broken the handle on my suitcase. Had to empty it and they’ve taken it away for repair or they will replace all auctioned efficiently.
After a couple of drinks in the Martini Bar which is feeling a bit like a corridor, we might have to move on we had dinner in the Tuscan Grill having used the 30% first day offer.
Lovely meal I had beef carpaccio, half size short rib pappadelli ragu and a fillet mignon. Sharon has the pork belly, mozzarella salad and the rib eye. Really great food and service. The restaurant was empty though with only 5 other couples present.
We chatted with our waiter, Sergio who explained that the Tuscan had been shortened with the refurb and also that all crew had stayed on board and been used as labour etc. He seemed to spend a lot of time ripping up carpets!
He was very proud of the Ocean View and MDR, which we will see tonight. He also said that things weren’t finished that the builders had been onboard all last week and today.

There’ll probably be thunder and lightening if I cross the gym threshold lol but I’ll try and see what’s happening

Does the couch pull out? Also could you try to find out what the plan is for Qsine? Will they eventually switch over to LPC, or will they offer both menus? Thanks in advance!
There’s a drop down bed in the ceiling.
I’ll ask when we go to Qsine on 21st

Did you happen to notice how crowded it was? Our last two cruises were sold out sailings, and The ONLY discounts offered in speciality dining was for Qsine and first night. I expect our April cruise will also be sold out.
I was booking up my package nights and was in Tuscan which was empty. When I asked for Qsine he said there was only one table available

Thats awesome news! If I can ask, what size iPad Pro do you have? My younger daughter has the larger 12.9" 2018 model (narrow bezels), and I’m sure she’ll want to bring it with her to do sketching and other art work when we’re on our TA next year. Hoping that will also fit.
We have 10.5s the old iPad I use to download films is bigger and fitted at a slant but think 12.9 will struggle

Thanks for the pictures and review of the ship. Does Qsine still have the original, I-Pad menu, or have they switched to La Peite Chef?
Standard Qsine no sign of LPC

And so to the room a Veranda Cabin on deck 8. Very happy with the room lots of storage. Changes from refurbishment it’s modern and brighter and feels plush, though we are probably second users so it would. There are recliners on the small verandas. The usb points are great
Cons
▪️the cabinets in the bathroom have gone replaced by shelving with a low lip
▪️Safe is much smaller it takes iPad pros but ordinary iPads only at an angle

Sunset Bar probably needs renaming Sol Bar or the like there isn’t a lot of shade at all. One picture at end shows it at best when the ship made it dappled.
The design of the canopy some like some don’t I’m ambivalent think it may look better when weathered Sharon likes it.
With the Canopy gone there is not a lot of privacy for the Aft cabins in deck 11 and there seems less on the lower decks than I remember.

Day 1 We are on board the Millie! Yippee yay yay 😊
Long queues to get through check in and then onto bit as they were taking photos at that stage. Efficiently handled though considering number of people.
Very first thoughts love it. Really like the blue hull.
Went straight to Cafe Bacio which looks very similar to the S Class ones not sure it’s been renovated but lols good
Cellar masters looks nicer as it’s lighter and more spacious.
More to come tell
me when you are bored!

Day -1 a full on sightseeing day and I know most of you are mainly interested in the ship so I’ll keep it brief. Tours of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, 4 x Star Ferry crossings, a turn around the HK Wheel, trip to the Night Market, dinner cruise to see the Harbour lights where we met a nice couple from Vancouver also sailing on Millie tomorrow. Hoping Millie’s singers are better than the Harbour cruise talk about Murder on the dance floor you’d have need CSI Vegas, NY and Miami 😂

Also following along. We are on the March2nd sailing and are staying in the Langham for a couple of nights at the end. Great to see photos of the hotel and hear you had a good reception there.
Hope you love the hotel as much as we do. Already planning next trip back

Hope you touch lucky with the right tailor and fitting at Sam's - first time was great, second time nothing fitted very well unfortunately. Good price and good materials though. I was very impressed with James Chen at the Mandarin Oriental, not cheap for a Super 120 suit but a lot cheaper than what you would pay in the UK . Staying at the hotel made it very easy to go for several fittings. Can't understand why but despite fluctuations in my weight 15 years on that suit still fits, looks and feels great.
Fingers crossed a bit concerned not there for final try on but they have been very professional so far

I hope you don’t need your new suit for your cruise!!
Thank you luckily I came prepared, although I I would’ve liked to have had it available

Day -2
Arrived in Hong Kong after the bumpiest 12 hour flight, or actually any flight I’ve ever taken. This made any sleep virtually impossible so most people getting off the plane looked as shattered as we felt.
Everythng else went smoothly with a driver waiting and a smooth ride to The Langham. The Langham have been superb our bags were whisked away and we were welcomed 4 times before we reached the doors!
We had tea in the beautiful foyer coffee shop before quick recce of the room which we were very happy with including the Valentines gift of a bottle of wine.
We wandered out as we had an appointment at the world famous Sams Tailors on Nathan Road. Again the fault if Uncle Gerard who has used Sams on his visits. A quick but thorough measurement was made but unfortunately staff holidays for the Chinese New Year meant the 24 hour suit was not available. They will however post it once made after a second fitting tomorrow.
Hong Kong was busy colourful and vibrant but we were the walking dead by now so it’s off for some food then bed before a full days sightseeing tomorrow.
