  1. How exactly did you come up with this 25% figure? Can you provide specific sources for this other than "alot of research of crew posts"? Where are these crew posts?
  2. Thank you for confirming what I said. Their pay is basically doubled, possibly even more if they are doing 25 rooms as opposed to 10. That is hardly "little more pay", as you originally stated.
  3. Is it really a lot more work? They are doing more cabins, but half as many times per day. Is it really "little more pay"? If the equation stated is true (which we obviously don't know), then it seems like a LOT more pay, as they are practically doubling their income.
  4. I pretty much agree with these thoughts. There have definitely been cut backs and it is very noticeable.
  5. I can't speak for others, but I visit my cruise ship room MUCH more often than my hotel room. I go to change clothes, to take a nap, to sit on the balcony with a drink, to drop off or pick up something, to take a shower, etc. I do some of these things too with a hotel room, but much less frequently. When I leave my hotel room for the day, I might return before dinner to change clothes, or I might only return at the end of the evening. Bottom line, I spend WAY more time in my cruise ship room and go there way more frequently than my hotel room.
  6. Or raise the daily gratuity amount 😉
  7. That's a great point, and one that I'm sure most cruise passengers do not realize. Thank you for bringing it up.
  8. Same here. Not a huge deal, but just another service being removed.
  9. I have never had that happen, that it didn't get done at all. Honestly I don't care if it gets put at the end of the list. They have always come back some time during the day, while we were out, and serviced the room. And I have almost always used the "do not disturb sign" in this manner.
  10. Lol I don't think they'd care. I'm sure they encounter this all the time, and would know exactly what you are doing.
  11. You can always put the "do not disturb" sign up while you are at breakfast, and not take it down until after you have returned from breakfast and then gone "out for the day".
  12. From your list of 11, they go to the following 7: Antigua: https://www.celebritycruises.com/ports/antigua Bahamas (not Nassau): https://www.celebritycruises.com/ports/grand-bahama Bimini: https://www.celebritycruises.com/ports/bimini BVI: https://www.celebritycruises.com/ports/british-virgin-islands Grenada: https://www.celebritycruises.com/ports/grenada Saint Vincent: https://www.celebritycruises.com/ports/st-vincent Turks and Caicos: https://www.celebritycruises.com/ports/grand-turk-turks-and-caicos Granted, I did not check dates of cruises that go to these places.
  13. It could be either, depending on if the captain decides to adjust ship time to be the same as local time.
  14. I'm confused. I thought Select/Anytime meant that you just show up whenever you want to. So what does Select/Anytime for 6:00 p.m. mean?
  15. Our solution to that is to put the do not disturb sign on the door until we leave for the day.
  16. Just the opposite for us. We are usually out for many hours on shore during the day but come and go during the evening.
  17. There may be a misunderstand here (or not). I believe the person was stating that the offerings were scaled back by 75% to 25%. I could be wrong!
  18. I always find it amusing when someone is talking on their phone in a public restroom. I make it a point to flush loud and often!
