  1. Montour,

We are currently on Voyager in a Penthouse A. The TV is in the living area, but on the wall left of the couch (as you sit on the couch) above the cabinet containing the glassware. It pulls out and turns either towards the couch or the sleeping area.

There is, indeed, a curtain that you can pull around the sleeping area to divide the room in half.

We have the bed separated into 2 twins, and if you are in the bed closest to the bathroom wall, you can not see the entire TV screen. If the beds are together (as one bed), it is not a problem.

  2. Bigmac,

We were in 989 from September 2014 through January 2015. Although a year ago, I do have photos of the cabin and balcony on my webpage. Go to http://www.BillinLodi.com and click on the "Venice to Miami Photos" button. If you scroll down a bit on that page, you will see the cabin/balcony condition at that time. We found NO problems with either. Hope this helps.

  3. Looks like they are scheduling the Mainer Dry Dock for March of 2018. Here is why I think so. We are booked on the Lima to Miami cruise from Jan. to March 2018. Today, we noticed that the 2nd part of our cruise (Rio to Miami) is now missing from our "upcoming cruises" page on the Regent site. We called Regent and they said that the Mariner is now scheduled to go from Rio to Barcelona. That messes up their full "Circle South America" cruise. The full Regent online site shows the Mariner ending in Rio on Feb.25 and nothing until April 18th in Miami...so it looks like they will be going from Rio to Barcelona, get the dry dock done, then go from Barcelona to Miami in time for the April cruise.

  4. I have used this power cube (with USB) on my trips. The removable adapters also let you use it in most countries.

Search amazon for: PowerCube Rewireable Electric Outlet Wall Adapter Power Strip with 2 USB Ports

  5. With an 11 night cruise, there will not be a formal night.

    From their website:

Attire ranges from Casual to Formal Optional. Casual wear is appropriate for daytime onboard or ashore, and consists of resort-style outfits. Casual wear, including shorts and jeans, is not appropriate after 6:00 pm, with the exception of the final evening of the cruise. On the night prior to disembarkation, guests may need to pack their luggage early due to morning flights the next day. With this in mind on the last night of every voyage we will relax the dress code for dinner to Casual.

The recommended onboard dress in the evenings is Elegant Casual. Dinner dress includes skirt, or slacks with blouse or sweater, pant suit or dress for ladies; slacks and collared shirt for gentlemen. Sport jackets are optional. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts or tennis shoes are not to be worn at dinner. Ties are not required. On sailings of 16 nights or more, Formal and Semi-Formal attire is optional on two evenings. On the two Formal Optional evenings, guests are welcome to dress as per the Elegant Casual dress code or opt for a more formal choice of clothing including gowns and cocktail dresses for ladies; tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits with tie for gentlemen.

  6. We are also on this cruise with Michael.

I am keeping a log and photo page.

    It is at BillinLodi.com

The ship's internet has problems getting a signal from up here in Greenland and they posted in "Passages" yesterday that the mechanical part of the antenna is broken and they have to fix it in Reykjavik on Sunday. They are trying to physically aim it. We are getting a few minutes of good internet here and there.

  7. JennAngel9...

In several of the Mariner Suites, there is not only the set of curtains on the sliding doors to the deck, but also a set of curtains that separate the sleeping area from the "living room" area....so you really have 2 sets of curtains keeping the light out.

I also have to have things dark, and have not had a problem on the Mariner.

If you look at the suite photos on the Regent site, you can see the curtains.

  8. I was guilty of keeping the sliding door ajar on my first cruise (South Pacific). My cabin's fire alarm went off at 2AM. Had to call down to the front desk to find out what to do. They had me pull down the alarm and take the battery out for the evening. It was the humidity. Who knew?

A few days later there were daily mentions in the "Passages" asking to keep the outside doors closed. I was not the only one.

  9. On our recent Voyage cruise, we had friends aboard and used our butler to serve a course-by-course dinner one evening. We did have an aft suite which had a table for 4 and had plenty of room. Not sure how well it would have worked in the Penthouse suites that we normally get.
