  1. I think entertainment is very important on any cruise line. I have cruised  on CCL many times although and I think the entertainment is improving the night club atmosphere is not. There are no venues for dancing which I like. I will be on the Harmony of the seas in October 19  hopefully that will change.

  2. Several years ago we got onto an elevator with another adult couple, and along came 3 little girls, about 10 years old or so. The one little girl pushed all of the buttons on the elevator and at each stop when the doors opened she would get out then come right back in. I said something to the little girl pushing the buttons and her friends got off at the next stop and wouldn't get back on, told the button-pushing-little-girl to come on. They were clearly embarrassed by her behavior. On her way out she turned to me, tossing her head and said in a syrupy-sweet little voice, "don't you like it when we push all the buttons?" I said "no, we don't, you little monster." She just laughed, tossed her head and went with her friends. I was so hoping to be on an elevator again with her, AND her parents so I could smile at her and syrupy-sweetly say "don't you want to push all the buttons this time like you did before?" Never happened though, darn it. And this was back before everyone had cell phones. If this same thing happened today I would definitely take a photo of the little brat. Maybe post it on here and ask "is this your little darling?" :)

I can understand "kids being kids" as we had two of our own, and maybe pushing all the buttons in the elevator when no one else is on would be one thing, but to inconvenience other people on the elevator goes a bit over the line in my opinion. And the kids that run down the halls late at night knocking on people's doors really ought to be punished. If people are sleeping and rudely awakened by some kid knocking on their door they have every right to complain about them to guest services. But I don't suppose guest services would do anything about it. Maybe that's one of the main reasons kids get away with so much, they know that no one will do anything about it.

I've never understood people who just let their young children (under 13) roam the ship all day, every day, and into the night. No curfew, no structure, no parenting. Just because you're on a cruise ship doesn't mean they don't need supervision.

I somewhat agree on things that you wrote. But I think the reason these kids are brats is that society has taken rights away from the parents to discipline their kids are not afraid of their parents because they know that if the parents touch them they tell the school nurse and DCF is called. Besides I think kids that come from a one parent family, usually the mom, some have no respect for themselves or others and unfortunately it is only going to worse.

  4. My cruise rate dropped 40 Dollars for the Vista next April going solo to 1410.00 on an eight day cruise(ES). It will probably drop even more. So there are deals out there but my VP told me that the deals

stop within 6 months of the sailing date unless the ship is not full.

  5. I have cruised many times during spring break and have found the week before Easter, Easter week and the week after Easter are the most crowded with the little darlings. Easter in 2018 falls on April 1 so if you want avoid children I would guess mid April forward would be less children.

  6. I just came back from the Glory I did not find the food bad in the MDR my complaint was the selection was terrible so I had fish every night which was OK. I eat a sodium diet at home but the

food on the cruise was loaded with salt especially the buffet so my ankles swelled. It is pretty hard to get away from this since you can't eat salad all week. All-in all the food was OK IMO.

  7. Just looking at casino floor plans and it looks like

the bar on the promenade deck is right in the middle of smokers delight. The Vista is suppose to be a beautiful ship and they screw it up by designing the casino bar like that. I was on the breeze last year and the main walk way from one end of the ship

to the other end goes right through the casino the smoke was terrible.

  8. I'm curious to see how the cruise atmosphere changes when we cruise in July versus when we've gone in the winter when no kids were out of school.

There will be tons of kids on the ship. So forget about getting in the pool or hot tub.

  9. Who the hell goes to bed at 10 while on vacation? We'll be on the Elation soon so I guess we'll have the dance floor to ourselves!

I started cruising in the early nineties and I was younger so I stayed up to 3-4 in the morning in the disco besides back than the demographics were in favor of the younger guests now with more families on Carnival cruise ships there are older guests. Things change.

  10. They were throwing away so much food - we'd always take pictures, but never ate.

I've been on cruises when Carnival had the grand Buffet, you're right a waste of food and this was done for years with and all the people starving in the World let alone in the U.S I never thought the Grand Buffet made sense.

  11. Being near the elevators is not all that bad. However with 17 days out your most likely stuck with it. With luck someone may cancel. But you need to be the person looking for that room. Depending on Carnival to call you won't happen ,call them.

I agree my cabin was second down from the elevator deck 7 mid ship it was great. I would get off the elevator make a right turn there it was. I've had that same location a few times.

  12. Carnival already made the one change that made us stop cruising with them. That was the introduction of the Playlist Productions "entertainment". We enjoy the live performances on ships and cannot stand the sub-par shows that have become the norm. The days of the live band/orchestra, singers and dancers with talent are gone on CCL.

We sailed twice after these changes and sat through a number of "performances" until we finally said "no more".

We generally like the rest that Carnival has to offer but feel our cruise vacation dollars are better spent elsewhere now.

I agree with everything said , I sailed when there were 9 piece orchestra bands at the shows and there were dancers it was great. On the lido deck there were 4 or 5 piece reggae bands. But now it seems to me its all about saving a buck, however I still cruise with CCL because it is the best bang for my dollar.
