  1. I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU GUYS!

How do you normally book your cruises? Do you use the Royal Caribbean website, or a third party site?

I would love to know, seeing as I'm a crew member and never booked a cruise before.

I ususally start at Royal's web site, pick my cabin, and book online, However, if I see that the cabin I want is not available, I will call and most often than not, that cabin is available, so it is a good idea to double check.

Thanks for taking the time to answer everyone's questions. A great thread.

  2. Thank you!!! I'm so sorry your cruise is over but I'm sure there are more to come. I'm glad you had a good time. What was your favorite part?

The shows, Rock n Roll trivia, rest and relaxation, and horseback riding on beach in Bermuda. Grandeur was also our very first ship in 2005. Since then, we've been on the mega ships, and they are okay, but it was fabulous to be back on the Grandeur. ENJOY!

  3. Well excuse my ignorance!!

Sorry, I thought the response to you was a bit harsh especially since you are relatively new to Cruise Critic. I think I started cruising just when it started going the way of quantity over quality, so I was fortunate that I was able to experience a couple of cruises where there were still midnight buffets, chocolates on pillows, etc, etc, so many other things! But I still enjoy RCI and I still love to cruise!

  4. We went horseback riding with Pinetree Stables. Linda and Chris were great hosts. They gave us a great history lesson and we went through the Bahamian forests and the beach. It was definitely an awesome trip. I definitely recommend them if you can do it. It takes about 2 hours. They even took pictures and emailed them to us.

I am looking into doing this! Was this through the ship or did you contact them directly? If so, do they have a shuttle to the stables? Thanks for any information!

  5. This happened to us on the Anthem as well last December. We requested 6-8 top which we had no problem secuing on every other cruise. However, on our first night on Anthen at the Grande we were seated a table for 2, inches away from another table of 2... a young Mom and her 8-10 year old daughter. It was pretty uncomfortable and felt awkward. My husband and I left the dining room without eating, saw the maitre'd who was upset that we were disapponted and assured us that they would make different arrangements the next evening and rest of cruise. Sure enough, we received a call the next day that we would be seated with two other couples who did not know each other prior to the cruise and also about our ages, so it all turned out well. Great time with them.

So, my suggestion would be to always make your feelings known and hopefully any issue will be resolved. Also, since then, I have contacted RC twice already about our next cruise making sure they had us at a large table in April. I love my husband, but really enjoy meeting and getting to know other people too! I think he likes the break from me, too :D

  6. OP, fortunately this has only happened to me one time... also on our Allure cruise and yes, it is hard to realize that your same cabin is going for so much less. I had to bite the bullet and just said *** and move on... you will have a great cruise I am sure.

To the people who say why keep checking. I don't.. I found out on my roll call. Wish I had never known!
