  1. We did this and really enjoyed it. It takes place on the beach and the sunset was beautiful. They pick you up from your hotel or close to it in Waikiki (kinda of a long drive out to the lauau because of the traffic), but we thought it was worth it. It was the only luau we could really fit in our itinerary and turned out well for us.

  2. Hi, all, I did look through the whole thread, so if I missed this request and answer, sorry...

I know that our cabin is listed as having an obstructed view, but it is really hard to see that when I look at the deck plans. Doesn't look like there are any lifeboats or anything. Does someone have a picture of E208 on Island Princess? Thanks for any help.

We are so looking forward to our first Princess cruise.

  3. I am sure this is posted somewhere - I did a search and cannot seem to find one. I have the menu for all the restaurants except this one. We are going on the Gem March 2010 I know it seems forever away but I am so excited. I know some things that the Blue Lagoon offers - my question is: What is the Menu? And are all the same items always available 24 hours.

    Thanks :o

We were on the Gem last month, and wow, the fish n chips were fabulous!!

  4. I've sailed the sister ship, the Freedom, and I can tell you that there aren't any self serve laundry facilities on board. You'll either have to improvise with the bathroom sink or pay to have your clothes washed and pressed.

One tip I will give you is to ask your room attendant when the laundry special day is on your trip. On my one week cruise, it fell on Wednesday and you basically get everything you can fit into a sack washed and pressed for a flat rate fee. I'm sorry that I can't remember what that fee was, but it was very cheap compared to the price it was for all items individually. I want to say $20, but I really can't remember. I know it wasn't $40 or higher, so there's a mental cap if you need one. ;)

The web site lists the prices for washing/pressing. A press only is 50% of the listed price. I do feel for you though with 5 people going; that's going to be a sizable bill.

Have great Alaskan adventures, all. This is our very first time to Alaska!

  6. Does RCCL server Bud Light on their ships? That's my husbands favorite and what about the cost??? Also the cost once your in Port Cococay Nassau etc... Can you eat and drink there pretty cheaply?

Yes, to Bud Lite and he could also order a Bucket O Beer for $20.50 and you get 6 cans of Bud Lite. I believe that cost includes gratuity, so while not cheap, it is a better deal than ordering indivdually according to my husband. Of course I always have to hear how at home he could buy a case for that price..................:D

  7. We went to my nephew's wedding last December in Key West (destination wedding, so no one knew too much about Key West), and after doing alot of research, etc., my sister chose Blue Heaven for the Rehearsal Dinner and wow, what, a good choice. Great food, great service, great music, great atmosphere. I would highly recommend it!!!!!! Here's a link I found about it:
