  1. I am looking into that cruise. 13 Nights from Safaga (Luxor) to Trieste or 14 Nights from Sokhna Port (Cairo) to Trieste Flight would be from Miami to Cairo.
  2. MSC shows on itinerary of Splendida repo cruise from Egypt to Italy “Trieste (Venice)” .. with 2 hours driving distance between Trieste and Venice .. the cities are not close. What are the options flying back to the US from Trieste ? Trieste airport has limited number of airlines. Venice is 2 hours away.. Although we like to travel by train between cities in Europe.. it’s not fun carrying suitcases and carry-on luggage.
  3. There is a video of stateroom 14256 on sister ship Bellissima on YouTube Legend of deck plan for Meraviglia: ” • Cabins 13245, 13342, 14213, 14256 have only sofa bed. “ I guess these kind of cabins are primarily designed to be addition/connected to adjacent cabins.
  4. The sister ship Global Dream II was getting ready for its maiden voyage but the machinery and fittings will be sold off as they are and the hull will most likely be sold as scrap. The construction of Global Dream is 80% complete and the German insolvency administrator (Konkursverwalter) hope the Global Dream will find a new owner.
  5. • Mediterranean • June 2024 • Barcelona • MSC World Europa Itineraries shown on MSC USA website.. cabins available in all categories/Experiences..
  6. How do you expect the forum to help if you don’t provide basic information of your search criteria ?
  7. 5th Avenue Restaurant is the dining room for Aurea Experience “My Choice Dining”. We usually sail in Yacht Club but choose Aurea in July for a last-minute cruise. We didn’t had to ask for a table for 2. There was no table assignment, we were seated every night at a table for 2.
  8. Maybe only inside staterooms are available for this particular cruise. Please provide • Website (country) • Destination • Date of cruise • Port of embarking • Ship .. so that your issues can be analyzed.
  9. Yes, you are right.. it’s probably an error on your TAs side. Bella Experience doesn’t include “My Choice Dining”.
  10. Which Experience did you book (Bella, Fantastica, Aurea, Yacht Club) ?
  11. Dynamic Dining is the term used by RCL. MSC calls it “My Choice Dining” , it comes with Aurea and Yacht Club Experience. No assigned time for dining, you can dine anytime during opening hours of restaurant.
  12. Filet Mignon 8oz and NY Sirloin 14oz included in Butcher’s Cut menu as part of specialty restaurants dining. ( screenshot of menu / MSC for Me APP / Seashore July 2022 ).
  13. Buying the package prior to the cruise saves the 15% gratuity.. gratuity will be charged if buying the package while onboard. You can make the reservation at the counter in the specialty restaurant area as soon as you are on the ship ..or.. let the concierge make the reservation for you when you are in the Yacht Club. You pick the date and time for the reservations, whatever fits your schedule of excursions, theme nights or show times. If your booking is B2B with one booking number you can spread the specialty restaurant reservations out during the 14-day cruise. If your cruise is B2B with two booking numbers the specialty restaurant package applies to the cruise you booked it for.
  14. The review compared Disney and MSC as family cruises. Quote “In search of cheap family cruises myself, I followed the deals to a major but more under-the -radar cruise line, MSC Cruises.” To make things worse.. the author of the review puts MSC and Carnival on the same level. ( TPG -> Th* Poi*ts Gu* ).. fill in “e” “n” “y” Google search the above mentioned name and “MSC Seashore”, the review is from Wednesday last week.
  15. The description of TPG is based on observations from a cruiser comparing Disney’s new cruise ship in the first sentence of his review with MSC. All cruise lines will lose when competing against Disney brand. It seems TPG doesn’t understand the concept and passenger groups targeted by MSC. He started the review as a family cruise and suggested in his conclusion to book Yacht Club.. it’s one of the most confusing reviews. I have read a lot of TPG reviews.
  16. MSC Aurea Spa and MSC Thermal Area are different facilities. Aurea Spa: Treatments Thermal Area: Saunas, Whirlpool, Salt Room, etc You can book a treatment without having Thermal Area pass or complimentary access (Yacht Club & Aurea Experience). DW had Bali Massage with Hot Lava Stones 50 minutes $124 (Gratuity included, prepaid prior to cruise).. Tip not expected but appreciated. ( Price as per Caribbean cruise July 2022 ). DW booked another Bali Massage with Hot Lava Stones on Ocean Cay.. using a coupon for 2nd Massage given to her after first massage. No upsell.. No mentioning of any products.. Professional and courteous staff. DW was very impressed with the unique experience getting a massage on the beach. The Spa Ocean Cay is located in a quiet area of Ocean Cay, next to the wedding pavilion. The treatment is in a hut kind of structure.. providing privacy but the ocean breeze flows through the hut. ( pics below )
  17. The following cabin layout is on a (non MSC) website.. shows a sofa..
  18. There is one elevator in YC on Meraviglia.. if I remember right. YC Restaurant, Top Sail Lounge and YC Sun Deck & Bar can be reached using the staircase or via elevator. The elevator connects YC decks only, no public decks. Public elevators are outside YC enclave and don’t go up to Deck 19 YC Sun Deck & Bar. The elevator in YC was empty most of the time..
  19. Aurea has its own dining room for dinner.. 5th Avenue Restaurant.. Breakfast in main dining room.. No different selection at the buffet for Aurea Experience. (pics of 5th Avenue Restaurant)
  20. Changes are made occasionally but that’s not the norm.. MSC assigned new staterooms due to operational or marketing reasons.. We’ve been on 8 cruises with MSC so far ( 7 x Yacht Club and 1 x Aurea ) and never had a change of stateroom. On the contrary, I called several times and asked for another stateroom in a better location when a room came back as available.
  21. You probably booked Yacht Club. We’ve got the tubes in YC only. Aurea: Wall dispenser in shower and soap pump dispenser on vanity.
  22. We sailed on MSC Seashore last month (July 2022) in Aurea SL1 aft corner suite. Shampoo and Body Wash in wall dispenser in shower. Hand Soap in built-in pump dispenser in vanity. No hair conditioner and no bar soap.
  23. Aurea Experience includes more than just access to Thermal Spa.. Included in Aurea Experience: • Suites and Balconies in the best locations • 24-hour room service (free delivery) • Flexible dining time with My Choice dining in a dedicated restaurant or area • Complimentary access to the Top Exclusive Solarium • Relaxation amenities in each stateroom (including bathrobe and slippers) • Access to thermal area (for adults only) • Priority boarding & luggage drop off • 10% discount on all spa treatments purchased on board .. and more .. see MSC website The location of staterooms, flexible dining time, dedicated Aurea restaurant and Top Exclusive Solarium justified the higher price for us on Caribbean cruise MSC Seashore last month. We usually book Yacht Club , but YC was too expensive for a last-minute 7-night getaway.
  24. Personally I would not book 18001 & 18002, adjacent to the Restaurant ..and.. 18040 & 18049 adjacent to the Jungle Pool Lounge area. All other staterooms are good. We don’t mind walking to the YC exit and public elevators. The distances in YC enclave are not sooo long.
  25. Location is personal preference.. I would choose almost any stateroom on deck 16 and 18 , with the exception of staterooms too close to public elevators and too close to YC Restaurant and Top Sail Lounge. Deck 16: Passengers use the main hallway from Concierge Desk to Top Sail Lounge, not the right hallway where the staterooms are located. Deck 18: access to Restaurant .. same .. see above We like staterooms on starboard side, it’s just what we like. Ships docked on Ocean Cay are approaching the island with port side, turning 180 degrees and docking with starboard side to the island. There are a few things which make the Yacht Club “special”. We really feel being in a private enclave.. it’s very quiet.. rarely see fellow passengers except in the restaurant and lounge.. everybody is friendly.. butlers are attentive.. they know our names.. fellow passengers greeting when passing in the hallway.. From the moment the butler leads us onto the ship.. engaging in casual conversation.. we feel “home”.. I never got goosebumps on any other cruise line than MSC when walking into the Top Sail Lounge and 6-8 butlers dressed in uniform wearing white gloves greeting me.
