  1. Not sure if there is a means to request it in advance (never heard of it on MSC). HOWEVER, when you board there will be a time listed and a dining room to see the Maitre d' and to preview your assigned table. You can go see it (listed on your cruise card) and if it is NOT for 4 people you can have it switched at that time.
  2. Not really a useable balcony - if it was a free upgrade from Oceanview I'd take it, T no. he area that it is under in the buffet is only used for overflow seating when it is really crowded. On every Divina sailing this year that we have been on that area has been roped off, so no worries about noise from that. (Whereas midship on Deck 13 you will hear deck chair noise in the early morning from the attendants setting up the pool)
  3. Assuming that this is an Aurea class, then, yes, you have priority boarding
  4. from the Bahamas yesterday (my daughter and son in law live in the Berry Islands) THE Ministry of Health and Wellness has issued an advisory warning the public of sea lice and jellyfish bites. #In a statement, the Ministry of Health officials said sea lice are the larvae of jellyfish, which float on the sea surface but are barely visible to the human eye. #Occurrences of these bites are commonly seen during the period of March to August. #“Skin contact with sea lice often results in dermatitis or seabather's eruption, which happens because the microscopic creatures become entrapped in swimwear,” the ministry said. “The eruptions produce a prickly sensation which progresses into a bumpy red rash noticeable between four to 24 hours following exposure. Lesions from the skin rash can last up to two weeks. Other symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, fever, muscle spasms, joint pains and difficulty sleeping.”
  5. the highest level of Champagne that you will get is Nicolas Feuillante. No more Yellow Label 😞
  6. That is a negative; you cannot bring your own at home test and have it proctored at the port.
  7. Embarkation at Port Canaveral is easy peasy. Much more so than Miami. Depending on when you arrive you can get through and be on the ship in under 30 minutes - including the long walk to the ship!
  8. Good day, you will get the Bella benefits - that is what will be printed on your card
  9. LOL! there's a lot of debate about that. It is considered in good form for gents to wear pants and a collared shirt and ladies to wear a pantsuit/dress/dress pants. HOWEVER in actuality it's a free for all.
  10. Hi @Craiglk and welcome to Cruise Critic. You will get as many answers as there are posters. It truly depends on what you like to eat and how you like to dine.
  11. Yes, the Easy Plus is not free, per se, as you have paid for it in the fare (there is a stripped down fare that does not include drinks). However you can easily upgrade to the Premium package for the difference per person, per day. If you do this in advance (on the MSC website or through your travel agent) you will avoid the 15% service fee that you will encounter if you do this onboard.
  12. Wow, I've been on the Divina 6x in the past 8 months; don't think she looks tired or run down at all (at least in the main guest spaces). Have I had a few cabins with sofas that could be replaced? Certainly.
  13. They had some paper wones available for guest use
  14. If you give them enough heads up (day before) they can arrange for something. Otherwise you will be limited to what's on island
  15. Eataly was closed permanently on the Divina. As of last month they were enforcing masks during check in and while walking onto the ship at Port Canaveral.
  16. Super easy peasy in the Caribbean. Since MSC dining times are later than other cruise lines to begin with most families traveling w/ kids will opt for early dining (which can be as "late" at 6:30). 2nd seating is 8:15 or 8:30. It's a 50/50 call if you get assigned late dining to begin with. In the chance that you don't, go to the MDR on embarkation day around 2pm (times will be posted) and change to late dining with the Maitre D'. In Europe, the situation and generally reversed with late dining being preferred (in my experience.)
  17. No one can say as no one has sailed her yet 😉
  18. Just to clarify, the cappucino would have a charge if you did not have a drink package. However, the food on display is free - pastries in the morning, sandwiches mid day, desserts at night. The gelato (on the "left" side of the bar) carries a charge.
  19. If you book online you MUST book the same package, in which case you should book the lower non alcoholic package. You can upgrade once onboard so you MIGHT be able to just upgrade your wife as they will happily take the extra money (and the 15% gratuity on the difference). The whole point is that they don't want drink packages being 'shared'. As far as table mates, you can always un-link your reservations if you think it's an issue, then ask to be sat together once onboard on the first day. But since drinks are so hard to come by in the main dining room I don't think that having different packages for different staterooms at the same dinner table will be such an issue. (It's not like they leave the bottle of wine on the table as they might on a European sailing)
  20. Hum.... the best answer is to call them and ask. You likely talked to the UK reps who may have their own rules. Likely it is end of business day the following day, but you never know. Tomorrow in the US is the 4th of July and a holiday, so MSC in the states will likely be closed.
  21. Both Hubby and I have traveled solo on MSC on various cruises when the other couldn't accompany. It's certainly different than traveling with your spouse, but we each enjoyed our solo cruises very much. Gives you more time to talk to the crew!
  22. And if people keep doing such things which cost the business time, effort and money (booking, cancelling, re-booking the same cruise) pretty soon the deposit WILL BE non-refundable.
  23. I'm sorry, but YOU are the one who keeps changing your booking. It is not their job to keep changing things because of changed promotions. That's what they are - promotions. In the T&C they will likely say that they are for new bookings ONLY. Having the cruiseline jump through hoops to change things causes more churn in a system that is already flawed (MSC's IT dept, billing dept, etc). Off my soapbox for now. Yes, I get is a couple of hundred bucks, but most of us BOOK our cruise and don't look back.
  24. She was a ghost ship -- we got conflicting numbers but somewhere around 1100 pax with 130 in YC. Everything was EMPTY. They only did one show a night at 9pm (vs the 5/7/9 they did two weeks ago for spring break). As she is going into Dry Dock soon there are certainly some outages on the ship in terms of supplies. Happy to answer any questions...
