  1. It is standard policy and you can see this for yourself on Carnival's website: suites and spa cabins have robes. Other cabins can get robes for no charge on request. Seems sensible to me.

Gotta have a robe. If I'm going to the lido deck for a spa in the evening I need the robe for my benefit and everyone elses!

Note however that some of Carnival's robes look like they have been through the laundry a thousand times and are getting a bit tattered!

  2. The pic accurately depicts the bunk arrangement in every standard balc or ocenview room I've seen.

As to your question about bumping into something, I think that depends on you! ;p

We had two extended balconies on Miracle recently 5122 5124 (connecting) for our family and there were no pullman (drop down) bunks. The kids room had two single beds and the couch, which as another poster said, did not pull out. They took the backrest off and made a single bed out of it.

It was perfect for us apart from one thing: you cannot lock the connecting door!

  3. Well if you have never seen customer service snap at someone, that must mean it has never happened. Wrong I have seen it quite a few times.

Their only human, and humans have their limits when faced with an endless queue of people, many of whom seem insistent of finding something, anything, to complain about.

But I've personally only found them to be really helpful efficient.

(One of the unheralded benefits of FTTF is the nearly always empty FTTF/Suite/Diamond counter at customer services.)

  4. Thanks much for posting the menu! Chocolate Martini is my very favorite drink! But i think I may encounter a

    Deal Breaker. 🍹

I tried the "Chocolatini" but didn't like it. No matter - it was on Cheers anyway.

What I really liked after dinner was an "Ultimate XO Martini". Looks exactly the same right down to the chocolate garnish. More coffee less chocolate in flavour. Wish I could find the recipe.

  5. The Alchemy Bar is not like any other bar, with the closest I've experienced cruising is the old Molecular Bar on Celebrity. There aren't any super sweet drinks on their menu and everything can be customized to your liking. They are not cranking out drinks as fast as possible and even using pre-made nonsense like I have seen at the pool side bars. The mixologists take the time to listen to your wants and then craft something that will make your palate happy.

So true. Our 12yo daughter sometimes inserted herself into our pre-dinner "date" at Alchemy. She likes to see herself as a sophisticated grown-up so they would make her a very grown-up looking strawberry mocktail, complete with much ice shaking and fanfare and topping it off with a spectacular citrus oil firework trick!

The ladies at the Miracle Alchemy were just brilliant.

  6. The restriction to a single shot per drink is not necessarily true relative to the Alchemy. As most of the "martinis" that the Alchemy makes include more than one shot of liquor, the special concoctions they make for patrons may include, and frequently do, more than one shot. Have had Cheers for the last several cruises and have been served special drinks on each that contain more than "one" shot. They have some discretion. Relative to the first question, I have had Margaritas at the Alchemy. Both special flavored and basic.

Just got off the Miracle. Once tried to get a Margarita at the Alchemy bar and was told "we cannot do frozen drinks here".

So I happily stuck with my favourite "Revved up Mohito Martinis" for pre-dinner aperitifs.

  7. I plan to purchase the Cheers program.

I like really good margaritas. Looks like I can get those at the Alchemy Bar on the Liberty, and have them concoct one with higher shelf tequila. Maybe a splash of Grand Marnier?

The reason I am confused (easy for me ha ha) is that I saw a menu and it didn't seem to list margaritas.

Between the coffee, water, and now allowing up to $50 liquor on the Cheers program it seems even better than it was. Especially if I can get a high margarita. Looks like maybe the Alchemy Bar is where to get it?

    TIA!

    Alchemy don't do 'frozen' drinks.

  8. That does sound miserable. I understand accidents happen but I'm very surprised this wasn't addressed to your satisfaction while you were on board.

    Congratulations on your wedding.

Agreed. I would have simply gone to customer services and had them sort it out. Your options would have been to move to another cabin (although generally there aren't any spare) or get off at the next port and go home and get your fares refunded and your next cruise comp'd.

    At the very minimum.

  9. Saw the RP in Cabo when we visited on Miracle.

Got pestered when we got off the tender, but headed to the main beach on a water taxi for $5 each and grabbed some beach chairs and umbrellas behind the ropes for a $20/head drinks prepayment. Never got pestered again that day.

At Mazatlan we went to the golden zone beach and got pestered constantly by trinket/hat.sun glasses vendors.

At Puerto Vallarta went on Los Veranos zipline tour so no vendors. It was an absolute blast. Got reamed at their restaurant/bar but they gotta make a living.

  10. Just got back on Miracle on the weekend. For Cheers I typically had an espresso coffee and a couple of bottles of water in the morning, a couple of frozen cocktails in the heat of the afternoon, a couple of pre-dinner "revved up mohito martinis" before dinner in the alchemy bar, a glass of wine with dinner, and an "ultimate XO martini" after dinner. So comfortably saved some money.

Now here's the thing - these drinks don't carry a heavy alcohol payload. They are not putting in double shots etc. I'm not a big drinker and I had enough to get a nice buzz but never got slurring drunk by any means.

  11. Mexican Riviera Cruisers! How are the waters out there?!

Getting ready to board the MIiracle this coming Saturday and was wondering how the waters are and weather? Looks like highs in the mid 70's leaving long beach. Any whales or wildlife?

Any tips on where to get the best drinks and who the best servers are on the ship and mdr are welcome! We love getting to know everyone!

Any other must sees in any of the port stops? Please share!

Looking forward to getting back on a Spirit class ship!! Cheers!!

Got back last Sat. No whales. Saw some dolphins on the sea days.

Lots of sea lions around Cabo, including in the marina. They seem to be everywhere around there. You can even feed them.

Best drinks by any of the girls in the Alchemy Bar. Vera and one other who I forget the name of. My favourite is the "Revved up Mohito Martini". Then after dinner an "Ultimate XO Martini" (not at all like a martini).

At the MDR, you just *must* request Conrad's section. Our kids adored him.

Water was reasonably flat but the Miracle still seemed to roll a bit. On the 2 sea days home we were into a 20kt wind so she was slamming into them and we could feel the ship shudder in our forward cabin. No problem to me but there were a few folks hurling their breakfast.

Oh, and I thought the sea water was plenty warm for swimming at all three port visits.

  12. We know that will be the minimum category room we will get.

You won't necessarily get the minimum category. That is the worst case scenario and it is possible to will get a much better cabin. Last time I booked a GTY balcony (on NCL) it ended up being on a deck above the lifeboats. If the sales are slow they will start allocating better cabins to GTY. Have heard stories of GTY cabins ending up an entire class better - e.g. booked GTY OceanView allocated Balcony etc.

  13. On our last NCL cruise (Pride of America) we booked two GTY balconies over the phone with Cruise.com, but asked nicely if they could be close together or neighbors. Well I was pleasantly surprised when two neighboring cabins were allocated the next day, some two months ahead of the cruise. And they were good cabins - no obstructed view etc.

    YMMV.

  14. That is definitely one of the scenarios I'm looking at.

We will be good with finding places to sleep. Hubby and I sleep in hammocks, so we just bring them along for us and the kids get the bed. ;)

Kind expensive getting the spare cabin though. I would call them on the phone as the web booking is not very flexible. Just ask the person to find the best connecting cabin deal. There are some odd combinations they can find such as internal to balcony connecting cabins.
