  1. I fully realize it’s all smoke and mirrors, I just it interesting to watch.
  2. Yes, you can redeem them for statement credit. I never use it so I went to my account to make sure it hadn’t changed. The redemption rate is the same as for OBC. When you get your card go to your online statement and click on the rewards tab, then you will have a page with two options. One says something like redeem for travel, the other says redeem for cash. The cash one gives you the statement credit option.
  3. Curious if anyone has heard what the upcoming promos will be.
  4. Looking forward to sailing them if their plans for a dock in Galveston come to fruition.
  5. I bought CCL and NCLH at their lowest prices plus one day, so it was a very good deal. It is within my portfolio and the $100 OBC is a pure win, as it does not diminish my value at all. So if I sail 6 times a year, which is average between the two lines, then no matter, within reason, what the stock does I’m ahead. I think a lot of people fail to realize the true value in stock ownership IF you cruise often. If you sail once a year, it may not be worth the risk for you, but as frequent. Raisers we will be drawing in $500 or so a year and more if we do longer cruises. yeh, and where ya been hiding’ Chief? Please tell us you were cruising and not avoiding all of us wonderful opinionated souls. 😉
  6. Yes, a while back he cited certain food safety regulations about consistency of food temperatures and said that was why there are no MW onboard. They only exception would be the crew lounge for popcorn.
  7. Upgrade will be a piece of cake, but FYI do it by phone, not online. You will have more flexibility in choosing your cabin.
  8. For those of you rejected for having casino offers - are you talking about a free or seriously discounted rate, or does that apply to the casino rates as well?
  9. I’ve noticed that starting in 2024 some of the ships will be sailing from Portsmouth rather than Southampton. We’ve never sailed from there, any thoughts from those of you who have? I really wish they had returned to Dover but not to be, I suppose.
  10. Our experience as well. Even had one of our favorite guys slip us a bottle of wine for the room rather than each of us carrying two glasses. A few dollars early on make a big difference.
  11. I saw that but didn’t consider the multiple points as FAS, so didn’t open that tab. Thanks for the heads up. Don’t ya just love how NCL puts things in an unusual spot? But we are getting closer to Easter, so it’s good practice for hunting Easter eggs.
  12. When I go to the link Bird provided it works, but when I try and find that page on the website I can’t find it anywhere 🤔. Can someone please tell me how to find these promotions. I thought I used to find them under T&C but no longer. Thank you MB
  13. That sailing is a new type event - a Latitudes Cruise with special speakers and events of some kind. If I remember correctly 🤣 it is for upper level latitude members. Thus, the reason for its specificity.
  14. I have found that not all WP agents know what the devil they are talking about. For example, I have had times when they told me I could not select my own cabin, upgrades were only done as assignments. We went back and forth a while and I just hung up and called back with an agent who gladly put me in a cabin of my choice. MSC KJ have said a BA is maximum upgradeable cabin and this guy just storied to you.
  15. We have done this cruise twice and the Napoli Coast was one of the highlights. So very wrong headed to do this.
  16. We enjoy sitting down to a nice quiet meal, being waited on, having a welcome aboard beverage, and taking a deep breath. So, we choose the MDR. We have at times gone to OSheehans, but on the BA class ships the atrium is a very noisy place and it can be hard for me to relax with all that auditory overstimulation.
  17. Welcome to the wonderful world of World Points! A few things I know a CN for what it’s worth I’ll throw in some history as it may help you understand why you get some differing answers to questions. upgrading to a balcony- now a days you can book a lower level interior or ocean view to upgrade to a lower level balcony. If you do not have to have a BA for location reasons then see what level on your particular ship is acceptable to you. If you’re okay walking off your cheesecake then a BD may be fine for you, especially if you like a little more motion of the ocean. Save some money and ask what you have to do to get a level you’re happy with. In the ancient of days, you had to book the highest cabin in your lesser category to upgrade to the next level. No longer true but be aware of that when booking. Price drops - this is really stinky but it is what it is. When I was a pup, you could book at say $500, do your upgrade and life was good. Then there’s a sale (outside of final payment) and the rate you booked is now $400. Yea! They would give you a price adjustment towards your final payment. Along comes the shut down, everyone loses their hiney and the cruise lines are looking to hang on to every cent they have. (I understand I owned a small business and it was scary). Sooo, the first time I called my fabulous PCC of 14 years who has never done me dirty, she says the price hasn’t gone down. But, Name, I’m looking at your website and it shows an I4 at less than $500. Yes, but that’s not how it’s computed any longer. The rate reduction is based on the cabin I am in now, say a BA, not what I paid for. Very sneaky, as closer to sailing, prices of balconies do not usually drop, but inside and/or ocean views do. refundable points - points used to be returned to your account if you cancelled your cruise. Have done it a few times. Now your WP agent when he’s confirming your upgrade will tell you something like “WP redemptions are non-refundable”. First time I heard that was what! When did that happen? He said that is the policy but there are exceptions and it is reviewed by a supervisor. I’ve not heard anyone hear report that they lost their points, but it could happen. Just be aware. if you are considering a second card and time is not of the essence, watch the offer closely. It varies from 20,000 to 25,000. if you and your husband have oddball amounts of points you can transfer points from one another’s accounts free of charge. Easy to do online. And a piece of old timer advice, don’t book your upgrade online. There are a few catches to online booking (it’s relatively new) and I advise speaking to an agent for the most assured situation regarding your redemption.
  18. When in doubt always call the WP people.
  19. Highest balcony on an upgrade is a BA.
  20. Where you see value, others may not and only you can decide. For us, we are balcony cruisers so I look at the cost of an inside and ocean view.me if the difference is small then I will book the OV and use 30,000 points to upgrade to a balcony. The cost difference is usually much more than value of OBC or statement credit. OBC is an unsound way to use your points because it leaves money on the table. Instead, use your NCL MC to pay your onboard account. You will get triple points as it is an NCL charge. Then get home and cash in points to pay off that amount. if you get OBC, you get zero points, by using the above scenario you get triple points and still get the benefit of paying your onboard expenses.
  21. Go to the rewards tab on your BOA account and you will see what is available. The best use, IMHO, is for cabin upgrade, you can also get OBC or statement credit. yes you can use it with a CN certificate.
  22. Breakaway deck 13 #13756 BA balcony Starboard normal size, bed is against closet, sleeps three, loveseat converts to bed right handed layout, meaning as you enter the bathroom is on the right and the headboard is on the right as well no problem with wind unobstructed view, no balconies that look down on you quiet, convenient location, only complaint is the room layout. The bed is next to the closet so it is snug getting items from the closet, it I think that is true of all the balconies on theBA. We have booked this cabin for our next cruise.
