  1. We are very pleased with Fulton. Good rates (for New Orleans), inside parking mostly, tons of security cameras. Four minute walk, it frequent shuttle.
  2. I wouldn’t stand for that. You need to call and book a cabin you want. You’re paying points for a decent cabin not a GTY.
  3. Actually, there is a digital clock on your cabin telephone, but the numbers are tiny. Also you can turn on the TV and use the ship info channel for time and temperature. Not as convenient as having a clock, but it is available.
  4. I knew you could redeem for OBC, etc, but I’ve never know you to be able to do upgrades online. Does the menu let you request a cabin or does it assign you a random cabin?
  5. I am not aware it can be done via the website. I have always called the WP # 866-954-4077. Before you call look at the deck plans and make yourself a list of cabins that suit your needs and also a list of not acceptable cabins. It varies at times, for reasons unknown to man, but at times they will try to assign you a room, often times a not great location, other times everything is peachy and you can select your own. If they try and assign you one, just hang up and call back in hopes of getting a nicer representative.
  6. I’m in agreement with Herbanrenewal, about new listings. We have booked as soon as new itineraries have posted and rarely see a rate below what we paid, with the room cabin category and location we prefer. You just have to very astute and it doesn’t hurt to have an excellent PCC who keeps an eye out for you, too.
  7. It depends on the ship, it seems. Used to be about 120 days but people on the boards since restart have been posting different experiences. On the BA this month we could not rebook at all 😳
  8. Once a day is now standard on CCL and has been for a few years. When the steward comes to introduce himself on day 1 he asks which you prefer. Because of status we usually receive the evening turndown anyway, but the evening service doesn’t matter to me a lot one way or the other, as long as I receive mt newsletter, but since CCL only does it on the app 👿 that’s an issue for me. on a an Ther thread a letter has been posted announcing that NCL is doing once a day starting with the Epic in January.
  9. Carnival started this three years ago, but you get to choose which you want, morning or evening.
  10. I’m not going to post my onboard account on a public forum. But my accountant and auditor husband went to customer service every morning after breakfast and went through our account thoroughly, and I promise you nothing is going to get by him.
  11. I August we had horrid dining experiences in almost every single venue. I wrote Manny, the F&B director, got no response. When I went to drop my letter off to him the receptionist said I’ll put it in the stack with the rest. There looked to be twenty or so letters. when I got home I wrote a detailed letter to the address Bird supplied above and received a case number. In about three weeks we received a letter giving us OBC on our next cruise. But, it’s a crap shoot whether you receive anything or not. we have only had one NCL cruise that had consistently rude or indifferent staff members, and from listening to the senior officers and the way they spoke to participants at the CC meet n greet, it was obvious where the problem was. Apparently changes were made with the captain or other higher officers because I’ve read good reviews of that ship recently. so sorry for your ruined vacation, but you are doing the right thing in bringing this to the attention of home office.
  12. This is such a fluid and confusing issue. We were on the BA on 12/4 and had $450 in NR OBC. I specially asked the CN people if I could use it for DSC and they said yes. She even went to the head guy and he came out and told me yes, also. Huh? Okay, never look a gift horse in the mouth. I went to the OBC desk to verify the validity of this, (cause who amongst us has not been fibbed to by CN people), they too said yes. And that is how it actually worked. I have no idea why, but it did. Maybe the stars were just aligned that cruise. But it was quite a pleasant surprise.
  13. You get the perks that were in the original booking. For instance, I recently booked an I4 and used 60,000 points to go to a BA. The interior cabin has 1 meal, while the balcony has 2. I get the 1 because that’s what I paid for. having said that, irs only happened once in my many upgrades. Frequently it slips through and I get the second meal as well. On my last cruise my cruise summary showed me with one meal (plus our two Diamond meals) but when we got our key cards at the pier it was marked for two 🤗. Hope it works out that way for you too.
  14. In Iceland we found that almost all OTC items are sold in pharmacies only. On an excursion I asked at a shop for cough drops (the one thing I did not have in my emergency kit) and was told I’d have to go to a pharmacy. I settled for a bag of butterscotch disks. ya never know when your traveling
  15. We sailed on 12/4 and it was a mess in spots. we arrived at 9:30 and went straight through security. Line was relatively short and we were through it in 7-8 minutes. went to the Diamond line and only had two people ahead of us and there were many desks open. no special seating area as in the past, only the side room for Haven. The problem is that the waiting area is simply too small for a ship this size. There were not enough seats for everyone so people gravitate toward the front, which clogs up the works when boarding starts and people with their massive bags will not move. So what if their boarding ticket seats 35. announcements are made bu someone who does not know how to use a microphone and only makes the announcement one time, so of course no one knew what was said. but the actual processing was very quick and easy, it’s just crowd control in the waiting area. These employees are not cruise line staff so not NCLs fault, but the port needs to get a grip on security in this situation. I will say everyone was very friendly, especially the two ladies who cleaned continuously in the restrooms.
  16. Yep, if you have a Diamond status you get 25% off a bottle, but it’s still cheaper by the glass. We like to have a glass or two on the balcony so we bring our “sippy cups” to the bar with us and order two glasses of wine and discreetly pour them in our cup. It goes back to the cabin for later enjoyment.
  17. You can possibly get FCC IF the current FAS are exactly the same. For instance, I booked when the deal was 40% off each passenger, later, prices dropped but the promo was 80% off the second passenger, so they would not give the new price. we forget that when airlines drop prices they never entertain the possibility of a price adjustment. Apply for the drop, but don’t be disappointed if they say no.
  18. Did you receive a response with a case number? If you did not then you need to resubmit because they did not receive it. I was 15 days out on a recent cruise and had a number but not a verification that it was applied. A friendly call and the young lady had my verification to me in a short time.
  19. We did this trip in August and it doesn’t matter which side of the ship you are on. But we certainly enjoyed having a balcony. We saw beautiful rainbows every day.
  20. And n January we will be entering Wave Season when the reeeally good pricing occurs! 🤣
  21. My experience has been that the first time you go to the spa they put a sticker on your card. They will take your card when you check in and you retrieve it when you leave. Things may have changed as we haven’t had the spa package since August, and things are pretty fluid these days. Enjoy the spa, it is such a treat.
  22. Breakaway. Was on her last week and DH and I commented that in 84 cruises it was the first time we remembered a door opening outward
  23. Years ago we were sailing out of New Orleans and made the acquaintance of two nice young men. Turns out they were both morticians in NO and they said between the various ships calling on or sailing fromNO there was rarely a week that there was not a death. This makes sense as so many cruisers are older, add to that dietary, exercise, and stressor changes, it is understandable that this would trigger health issues. We have seen CPR performed, seizures, broken bones from falls, and subsequent evacs. A cruise ship is a microcosm of society so spit happens. And yep, we’ve seen our share of drug dogs in our hallway, men in black and perp walks. But, yeh, I want to see the brig too!
  24. We loved the Spirit. Beautiful, classy ship.
