  1. Are you going to Cozumel? It probably is not your price drop. There is a promotion right now giving $50 off excursions in Cozumel.

That's what I thought, that instead of giving me the $20 price drop they gave me the $50 promotion. The thing is, I don't want it - it wouldn't pay half of any excursion that we would consider taking in Cozumel, and we weren't going to take a Carnival shore excursion in any case.

I haven't had a chance to call yet, but I'll do so over the weekend, and let you know what the deal is.

  2. I don't have that "fine print" where did you see that?

    GUEST NOTES

    1) OBC is non-transferable/non-refundable. Applicable for shore excursion purchases only & cannot be used prior to sailing. Cancellations prior to final payment due date will receive a future cruise credit in the amount of the deposit less a $50 pp service fee. The future cruise credit must be used for bookings in USD currency within 24 months from the date of cancellation. If you find a lower cruise rate, based on the total cabin occupancy & not from the booked ancillary services, such as air, transfers, prepaid gratuities, or TF&PE. Price protection doesn’t apply to group rates, membership programs, charters, select promotional fares, travel agent rebates, or other travel agent promotions not offered by Carnival to the general public.

  3. I just submitted my second price drop, and it was approved right away, but it's odd - instead of dropping the price by the difference, they put a $50 OBC on my account (which is more than the price difference). Which I would be very happy about, but reading the fine print, it's only for shore excursions, not to use onboard (for spa or bar purchases, for instance). Since we weren't planning any shore excursions, I was going to call Carnival directly to find out what can be done.

Does this happen often, that OBC is limited to shore excursions?

  4. Is there music piped in at Nachi? I'm not a fan of most of the kind of music young people listen to these days, although I'm not adverse to quiet local music, like mariachi. Can anyone who's been there recently give me a scoop? And if there IS music, can you tell me if it's just by the pool? Can you hear it from the beach palapas?

Thanks - I feel like an old coot, but I'd much rather know beforehand.

  5. My husband and I were invited to dine at the Captains Table on the Miracle several years ago. Not sure why, as we are no one special (this was only our second Carnival cruise), but our waiter told us the next day that we were so nice to chat with that he recommended us. It was great fun - very fancy, with a special menu and a photograph.

  6. I have noticed several postings about how the pool deck chairs are now being decorated with towel animals first thing in the morning. Do you think this might be an attempt on the part of Carnival to help alleviate the chair hog situation? That perhaps folks won't be so quick to hog up chairs, because they already have towels on them?

    Just curious,

  7. awful, you ask for pictures, and I am the dirty one.

You say that wearing a robe over your bathing suit to and from the pool is tacky. I am asking what you wear over your bathing suit to and from the pool, as obviously you are setting yourself up as the arbiter of good taste. But your responses clearly indicate that you are not, and so I am going to consider the source of the 'tacky' comment, and move on.

    And ick, whoever you are.

  8. Thank You....

As for the "Full" color photos, You are very naughty !

Maybe You would like that very much ;)

The Nudie ones, is that what you really want ?

I dont do Nudie pics, as I have said many times before.

For what I have to show, some on this board may report it to the mods.

There are a lot of jealous people out there

But as I said, Thanks !

So a robe is tacky, but your response is not.

    Sigh.

  9. I suppose they can give us something to have a little giggle about :D

I would very much appreciate some full color photos of what YOU wear to and from the pool area, so we can all learn from you. Obviously, you are the official arbiter of good taste and manners on board, so guide us, oh wise one - guide us!

  10. I find it extremely tacky and trashy to be walking around outside of the spa or your room in a robe.

What is the difference between a robe and a terry cloth coverup? Truly? I have a short kimono type robe which I wear as a beach coverup - apart from the fact that it is, in fact, a robe, I think it looks much nicer and more pulled together than at least 3/4 of the 'beach covers' that I see. Up to and including the ones with a naked or bikini clad person screen printed on the front.
