  1. Jim, the kitchen is coming along nice. Countertop looks great! I'm sure you are anxious to get the house back to yourselves after all these months.
  2. Prices for this cruise itinerary are always on the high side as I viewed them in the past. Why there is such a big difference in GTY rate is unknown. Could simply be rcl IT people priced up incorrectly. If you don't want to run the risk of getting an obstructed balcony on deck 6 then disregard the GTY rate and decide if you want to book the standard rate.
  3. Worst case you can use your birth certificate for a cruise to Bahamas.
  4. I usually give the porters where you drop off luggage from your car anywhere from $5 to $10 and we usually have a total of 3 or 4 bags to check in. And I always watch to make sure the luggage gets on a cart as I would be devastated, especially if it was my large bag with all my clothes. For disembarkment I usually give those porters a bit more when they put the luggage on a cart and walk it out to the parking garage area.
  5. There is usually snacks, sandwiches and salads at the Cafe or Solarium in the afternoons when WJ is closed. If your sailing on a ship with a Playmakers you can usually get food there in the evening or snacks at their pubs.
  6. Are you able to edit your time on the cruise planner? If not maybe call crown and Anchor number and see if they can reschedule your massage.
  7. Same here. Maybe different with leaving from FL. We cruise to Bermuda from Baltimore or Bayonne. May is nice weather but if you want to swim or snorkel water can still be a bit chilly in the 60s.
  8. Most stores in Bermuda will be closed on Sunday except some near the dockyard may be open. Some of the touristy shops scattered throughout the island may be open but may close at 5 pm. Pubs and restaurants should all be open Sunday. Buses and ferries typically stop running by 6 pm. You might plan on dinner and drinks Sunday in Hamilton or somewhere near dockyard then get an early Start Monday morning to St George.
  9. Prices vary on day and time. If you look at your cruise planner and select a day you will then different prices. I.e. the cheapest are usually day 1 Last winter they were offering lots of spa specials but the couple of cruises I had this fall and early December I did not see any great deals onboard.
  10. Ferry does go to St George. I think it is about a 45 min ferry ride from royal navy dockyard. St George is a nice area to wander around for an afternoon but not a lot to do and see from what I remember. There are some nice shops to explore. We have a nice painting from a gallery in this area. Tobacco bay Beach is nearby and nice little place there to grab a cocktail and snack on the beach. We usually take ferry there then take bus back to Hamilton since the ferry times are very limited for st george. Then ferry back to the ship or the bus depending on our timing. Buses and ferry usually do not run at nighttime.
  11. @LucasLikesToCruiseI was thinking of you this weekend. Here's hoping 2023 is a much better year for you. 🥰 I cannot believe it but i just went blank on your puppies name. Hope he is doing well too! Are you ready to book yourself a nice relaxing cruise to help heal your soul?
  12. I'm watching my recording from last night. OMG Camile is a total mess...time for her to go. I don't see her attitude improving anytime soon.
  13. We have stayed in some pricey hotels such as the Hamilton Princess and we have stayed at some nice apartment/home rentals thru VRBO in the past years. We have enjoyed trips there late May, September and even beginning of October with decent weather and less costly than mid summer rates. Cost of everything on the island is much more expensive than Caribbean islands. when I have gone to a local food store to buy some items for our rental I am always shocked at the cost of basic items such as milk, eggs and bread.
  14. I have never heard or seen one of these. I went on Mi Gardener website this weekend and was shocked when I saw just about all the types of seeds I want are shown as Sold Out. When do you order your seeds for this years planting?
  15. @Jimbo I agree. I saw your questions about Bermuda on Andrew's thread and didn't want to hijack it either. We have done several land and cruise vacations in the last 25 years. It is one of our favorite islands (was my Parents favorite too). Swizzle Inn is a fun place to stop for a drink, write your name or message on the wall (I always love to see the message my Dad wrote to us on the wall) and grab an appetizer or a sandwich. Hog Penny Pub right in Hamilton (blocks away from the Ferry) is always a great place to have some dark n stormy's and grab a fish sandwich or Bermuda fish chowder is one of Eric's favorites. Frog & Onion located at the dockyard is a fun bar and has some great food too. We enjoy their Wahoo fish sandwiches. If you want some upscale dining for a romantic dinner, then the Waterlot Inn is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food. If you want to dine right on the water and watch the sunset - this place has great food, great location https://www.thehamiltonprincess.com/dining/ We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and have always enjoyed. We find the best means of transportation to be the Ferry and their local bus system. You can buy daily passes at a booth on the dock @ Royal navy dockyard. Great way to meet the locals and see the island without paying a fortune for a taxi. If you do take a bus I highly recommend getting off at the Gibb's Hill Lighthouse and if able to walk up to the top you will have the best view of the island. We do not go to the touristy beaches - such as Elbow and Horseshoe Bay. If this is your first time there then you may want to check out the pink sand at Horseshoe Bay. But if looking for a nice quiet peaceful day at the beach. We have found that getting off the bus at stops near some of these other beaches and walking down paths to the beaches is so much nicer. You end up with your own private beach most times. Of course you won't have beach loungers or umbrellas when you go rogue so make sure you have some towels with you. When it gets closer to your cruise, let us know. I was saying to Eric last week that we need to book a Bermuda cruise this summer (maybe August) we are booked for end of March, June and September so far just not sure how much more time my boss will give me off. Are you booked on Liberty or Vision?
  16. Sounds wonderful. Happy to hear your Daughter and her cat are getting settled into what sounds like a lovely place to live temporarily. Thankful you didn't have to make that nasty call to the Landlord about a can opener😁
  17. Each individual has their C&A number. Each person earns their own points. If your wife is diamond then you will be diamond but will not have the same points she has. If you will be cruising a solo in a cabin then you will get double points unless you are in a cabin for solo cruisers only.
