  1. My hubby makes fun of me for having their number saved on my cell phone but of course he doesn't tease me when we go on comped cruises.😃
  2. When I was there in December one of the tram drivers said it should be done by late fall. He didn't have any other info to share. One of the pier workers in Nassau said the grand opening is scheduled for May for new terminal but thought the shopping area would be open in March or early April.
  3. As you accompanied someone on a scooter as I did you must have encountered some of the same obstacles we had. Yes, of course, we would wait our turn to pass and slow down as needed. That should be common courtesy for anyone. Never said we were in a hurry to get anywhere. For us, our sailing on Oasis had a very large group of people that simply would block up the walkways while chatting or taking constant photos. A lot of passengers, not just scooter people, found this group to be very rude and ignorant of others. Elevators was a major challenge on this ship. We frequently would be waiting for elevators for 10 or 15 minutes then a large family would walk up and jump on an empty elevator as though we didn't exist. This would happen many nights at dinnertime. We have sailed 6 cruises this year and that sailing was our worst ever with Royal. Thankfully it was our only cruise where DH needed a scooter.
  4. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise Even though it says guests fully vaccinated or 17 or younger do not need test I would still take at home test and take a photo of negative results to be safe.
  5. Ride a scooter on a cruise ship with thousands of passengers and you will have a new prospective. Scooters do not maneuver like a person, this is why we have a whole new respect for people that must use on a daily basis.
  6. The walk is about 25 minutes from the pier. If hot and humid I recommend taxi both ways. We took a taxi on the way back. Which I think we paid something like $5 pp. Well worth it.
  7. My DH had a scooter on a cruise due to an injury. We found lots of rude people that just don't move out of the way. Which is probably why some scooter drivers lose patience and beep and holler. For him the biggest challenge was getting on an elevator. Lots of people just jump ahead of as though we were invisible. When we cruised in December without him needing a scooter we made sure to help those with scooters get on elevators and get out of their way. It gave us a whole new understanding of the challenges some people face on a daily basis.
  8. It was wonderful that everyone was able to be there for the past week. Lots of fun memories for all. Your family makes the best sand art😃 Being at the beach with feet in sand and watching the water helps heal our souls. Someday soon your Daughter will be well again🙏 Safe travels home 🥰
  9. Good question. I wondered if others outside of this region knew about it. Shame to hear it isn't known. Next New Years Day I will try to remind everyone to look for it.
  10. The history of the Mummer parade is quite interesting. http://quakercitystringband.com/a-history-of-mumming-how-the-mummers-got-here/ It is an all day event...lasts about 12 hours. Each category string bands, fancy, fancy brigade and comics. Each group starts planning this week for their theme next new years day. The amount of time each group spends on constructing their costumes, music and choreography is amazing.
  11. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the 1st day of 2023. Have fun😀 I have been watching the mummers parade while putting away anything Santa related and putting out some winter decorations, snowmen, penguins, etc. Undecorated the tree and just left the lights on as we love to sit at nighttime with house lights off, tree on while we watch TV. Took down our lighted snoopy, Woodstock, Rudolph and a Christmas mouse from outside but left the bush lights and walkway lights in place for this week. Going to head over to Ross and Macy's for some returns either today or tomorrow and see what winter sales are happening. I received a nice amex gift card from boss might be time to buy a nice new handbag.
  12. Happy Birthday Andrew. Happy New Year to All! Cheers🍾🥂 Wonder who will be awake to send us @Ocean Boya sunrise photo tomorrow.
  13. Happy New Year! Thank you for this wonderful thread. I wish for All to have a Happy, Healthy and Safe 2023❤ I would love for Chris and Donna to give us a Grandchild but I know they want to buy a house before they start a family. So we will just have to make sure they buy a home soon. 😉
  14. We are in mid 50s with heavy fog and light rain just started. Tomorrow to be low 60s. Crazy weather considering Christmas weekend was below 0.
  15. I'll have the lump crab-tini oysters we can share, lobster bisque and either rack of lamb or try Buffalo Tenderloin. Thank you😁
