Wishing well all of you who are dealing with the weather challenges getting to Ft. Lauderdale. We are counting our blessings, having taken off this afternoon from Logan only about 40 minutes delayed, and now en route. We are apparently adjusting our route a bit to skirt the storm, and taking a bit longer to land, but grateful to be in flight. Booked the Thursday flight many months ago, just because the fare was good and the times convenient, but we lucked lucked out, as we have missed the storm’s advance into the northeast on Friday. We are sorry a number of you are having to deal with that. Wishing all safe (and timely) travels.

Thanks, mdgary, for continuing to report during your second week on board. We are on the next cruise, leaving this Saturday, Aug. 10. Wondering where you docked in San Juan—at the Pan American terminal, or at the docks along Calle Marina (right within walking distance of Old San Juan?). Thanks!

Thanks, jamielogical, for again sharing your account of the upcoming 14 night cruise on Enchanted. We followed your May live reporting, but this time we will be joining you (and several other followers here) on the August 10 sailing. Looking forward to meeting you all on board at the gathering at sail away (we’ve packed our Mardi Gras beads) and at the meet and greet the following morning. Looks like a wet week coming up in South Florida, with thunderstorms in the forecast for next Saturday afternoon, but that’s a ways off, so fingers crossed for decent weather as we depart.

The patters and menus are especially appreciated Sounds like the dining has not wowed you so far. Please let us know if that improves over the rest of the cruise. Also, please let us know if you decide to try out any of the specialty restaurants—Rudy’s, Crown Grille, Sabatini’s, etc.

We are counting the days to our August 10 sailing on the 14 day repositioning — your account of your time this past week has intensified our excitement. Glad you had a fun time. We’ve been on a number of Princess ships, but this will be our first Enchanted voyage. Safe and fun travels as you embark on your NCL sailing.

Thanks so much for the heads up on this. We just booked a non Reserve mini suite on deck 11. It’s confirmed and showing it includes the Premier package. While we’d prefer the Reserve option, hard to pass up a $570 conventional mini suite. We figure with the Premier included dining benefits and the OBC from the deposits, we will be able to enjoy specialty restaurants enough to make up for the loss of the dedicated Reserve dining room. Fingers crossed on the Star getting ready in time for this sailing. Definitely thinking about booking the flights, once available, via EZ Air, in case this cruise gets canceled.
