  1. The dry dock is flooding now.
  2. Cruise is scheduled to start 06th June.
  3. We used GoOpti last year, it was a shared mini van. We did not have to wait long for the other passengers. Got us from the port to Venice in around 1 hour 40 minutes. Good Service. It would take less time to get to the airport.
  4. I can't believe the Haven peeps get to go on the original itinerary and us steerage peep's miss out 😆
  5. Cheers for the reply, appreciate it. Very informative thread for the set of circumstances. I might put Zombie by the Cranberries on my playlist for the flight 🤣.
  6. You are mistaken, the decision to renew the passport was taken after speaking with an NCL representative which took place after my posts enquiring.
  7. Read back over the thread, see where, and why the thread was 'unnecessarily reopened' and the context. I was interested to understand the outcome of the original poster and sub poster with a very similar set of circumstance to mine with regards passport expire date & NCL policy within Europe. Private messaging for both posters is disabled hence I posted to inquire in the titled thread as the most appropriate place I could find to get their attention/outcome.
  8. I watched a few live football internationals in the Skyline Bar when we were on the Escape in 2022.
  9. I have just booked in to get new passports next week for peace of mind.
  10. Well eileeshb, how did you get on after? Apparently reading a bit of info on CC, I have a similar predicament to yours with a cruise in two weeks time... some craic eh!
  11. That is a good point. I would assume the required online check in (including passport details/expiry) is part of the contract? Surely a gap NCL need to close on their IT side with their form validation data ^^, leaves them open to a viable counter.. I will give them a call on Monday to clarify.
  12. Yeah, and just to add some clarity, As we are from Ireland, we can travel to and from the UK with no passport, we just need an ID card of sorts. Also in Europe, we can travel around within Europe up to the expiration date of our pasport. Hence why I am curious, how a 6 month passport rule is required.
  13. Thanks, I seen that, and if it is brought up on check in etc., I will challenge NCL on the fact that their online check in allowed me to input two passport details including expiry date that had an expire date within 6 months of the cruise debarkation.
  14. We are booked on a NCL Cruise out of the UK (traveling from Ireland) in 2 weeks time, both my teenagers passports expire in September this year. I have no fear of there being an issue with this. (But I would be interested to see (and open to correction) where it explicitly states we will have an issue with the kids passports being out of date in less than 6 months) We have travelled on passports around Europe/UK on passports that expire within 6 months with no issues previously.
  15. Yes you feel free at sea because you are generally up to your eye balls in cruise juice. Enjoy!
  16. We went to Teppanyaki on the Getaway last summer, and I agree with you. It was nice for a once off, the chef was enthusiastic and friendly, my two teenage kids liked the pageantry, and the food portions were way too big for all of us... I wouldn't go there again though.
  17. If you are wearing your Kevlar there is nothing to worry about. Good luck!
  18. Have disembarked in Civitavecchia with the family and made flights from FCO and Ciampino airport several times with time to spare (well over an hour) for pints and sit down food in each airport for a flight in around 12. Only caveat is, we walk our own luggage off and get a transfer (either private or shared).
  19. No, I have not sailed on the Getaway since June 2023, I am actually here now in the process of booking a trip on her again in a few weeks. Nice to hear it is complimentary now, I hope it offers a different option(s) to what you can get in the buffet with regards fast food. (I like fast food!)
  20. They should get rid of that American Diner on the pool deck, never seen or spoke to anyone who dined there. Maybe the Q restaurant would be a better swap here.
  21. In the current active situation of declared war in said country, would anyone be willing to travel to an active warzone or embark on static ship in port in said warzone? Optimists vs pessimists aside, common sense has to prevail at some point in this question.
  22. Same experience for us boarding the Getaway late June this year around 11am. As long as you have your required documentation on hand there will be zero issues.
  23. Good evening, one of my kids comment earlier sparked this thread in a roundabout way.. it was in response to a question I asked on where do you wish to go on holiday next? They reply was; "On a cruise but on a different ship because they seem to be all the same". Fair point I thought from a teenager perspective. Which then got me thinking as I have only cruised NCL. I would indeed like to experience a different ship "layout" just for something different, but I don't want to sacrifice the craic for it 🤣 (Hands up who doesn't understand that comment?). Kids do the entourage and arcade all all the kids activities etc.. Background from the wife & I perspective: Cruised with NCL 3 times: Epic, Escape & Getaway. Apart from the commonality: Epic Liked Venues: Spice H20, Bliss lounge, Casino. O Sheehan's Liked Entertainment: Dueling piano's, Bliss Dj Liked Food: All we sampled Escape Liked Venues: District Brew House, O Sheehan's & Waterfront. Liked Entertainment: Dueling piano's , and Eddie in District Brewhouse Liked food: Food Republic & Buffet Getaway Liked Venues: Sunrise bar &, Waterfront. Liked food: Buffet Cruise route/itinerary is outside the scope of this ask, thank you. Any suggestion on another NCL ship based on the above from your experience? ** Older ships are out & I am looking for mainly large ships above +100,000 GRT
