Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Cruise lines have to find ways to attract younger generations. The old style cruise doesn't attract younger generations. We're in our late 40s and have been cruising since 2005. We've seen a lot of change over that time and I have to admit some things we miss, but also enjoy some of the changes. I personally enjoy seeing new ships and exploring them. One thing I don't necessarily love about Princess is there isn't necessarily enough differentiation among ship to get me too excited. I'm really excited to see Sun, just as I was to sail on Celebrity Apex last year.
  2. This is correct, Cruisingpower is the TA portal for both Royal and Celebrity. It's also referred to as Espresso.
  3. Wait till they add a credit card reader to the overhead bins! $5 per open! Oh and I'm sure it's coming to the bathrooms as well!
  4. Exactly! It's the collective response, which is why people should speak up. Cruise lines often reverse course based on a large amount of customer feedback.
  5. The "article" came out on 1/12, right as the changes were coming to light. This is 100% a PR pushed article. Get a high profile publication to publish a fluff piece to try and draw new cruisers to potentially replace frequent frustrated cruisers who are mad about the changes. This is aimed at a non-cruiser luxury market. I literally laughed out loud when this article dropped given what we know is actually going on!
  6. Princess does that. They have a different made to order station nightly. One night it'll be Mexican, the next night ramen, the German, etc. It's really nice.
  7. I agree, but I'm just working with what they're feeding me. Two of the three times I've talked to the "Executive" admins, they stated that the changes were largely due to waste. So, if they want to use waste as a reason, we can point our why the happy medium we've suggested reduces waste. Use their buzz words and maybe that'll get more attention!
  8. And, there it's not fascination with the OVC, it's lifestyle. As I know we've both stated before, we don't enjoy the 2+ hour slog of the MDR. I'm not sure why people don't understand that not everyone likes that.
  9. We are indeed and we will most likely still be in the OVC, hopefully with a little more choice! And no need to be sorry about the Bills! I'm a 49ers fan and my DW is a Dolphins fan.
  10. Looks like we'll be seeing you in the OVC on Reflection in April!
  11. And they could implement that within a couple weeks no problem! Adjust the their weekly stock order, put a few more staff in the OVC and be done with it! I think it's the happy medium everyone wants.
  12. 53% at least once. 17% 3-7, which for 3,000 people is 510 people, which is probably about the total number per night across the stated groups. That's not an insignificant number of people. Using a mostly made-to-order concept, there is a lot they could do and still reduce cost and waste.
  13. Still available and sufficient are not the same thing and what' sufficient is subjective. As someone that dines at OVC for dinner, not having made to order protein and a good selection of vegetables is not sufficient. I'm not paying just for available. If that we the case, I'd stay home.
  14. Princess has a great product! We'll be sailing on Regal for the second time on the front half of a side-by-side with Reflection in March/April.
  15. It goes through either way. I copied it directly from the email I sent.
