International travel is not even considered until June?

No it states possibly from 17th May - my cruises won’t be going ahead but if there is any chance the ship may sail, I might be struggling for a refund. That’s what happened with flights - passengers weren’t allowed to fly under UK rules however the flights still went and people were denied refunds.

  2. Hi everyone,

I have (... well, had 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️) two one week cruises booked - one with Royal leaving 7th May and then one with P&O leaving 15th May both from Southampton. Now obviously due to the announcement this evening, I will not be able to go on either of these, but is there any chance whatsoever that the ship might still sail (with passengers who have flown to the UK and then cruise out of it)?  I suppose what I’m asking is, is there a possibility that I might be refused a refund of my deposit because the ship is still sailing? Or do you think ships will be prevented from sailing out of British ports - until after 17th May? Any help would be appreciated - thanks 😀

It is an amazement to me how they can announce double points and some act like they are offended. My favorite ones are the posts that say...."they shouldnt count for existing bookings......they shouldnt count for anything below suites...it will add to lounge over crowding...."

My thought was ...wow! Great news!...After all, we have 15 cruises booked for next year although we doubt many will sail. Who knows when Europe will open? Annie and I just roll with it.We get all our points one day at a time....the old fashioned way. Had we done all our sailing on RCCL we would be Pinnacle by now, but we didnt. We have no complaints.

We find ourselves in the position of potentially being on the Iona on her maiden voyage on 14 November (although know slim chance of it going ahead).  When we booked our cruise we thought it would have been sailing for a few months before we embarked.  We are curious as to what can/may occur on a ships maiden voyage carrying passengers as its inevitable that teething problems will arise.  We are not concerned about this but would appreciate any info that may prepare us in advance.  Thank you all.

    Hi,

I did the Spectrum of the Seas maiden voyage last year and although I read reviews afterwards from other people saying they encountered ‘teething problems’, I can honestly say we did not encounter one problem and I loved every minute of it 😃

I am also on the Iona 🤞🏼 but not until May 2021 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hope your maiden goes ahead 😃😃

  6. These are my last pics as I have none for W, X, Y or Z 😤 (need to get out cruising more 😂😂)

Such a brilliant thread DamienG - thanks for starting it 🙂🙂🙂

  8. Well - I don’t have any for E (I can’t even think of any ports beginning with E 🤔🤔) so I’m going to shamelessly break the rules 😛 and move on to F for Fujairah in the UAE. I don’t even have a picture of the ship (which was the Costa Deliziosa in 2010) but wanted to show you pictures of when we jumped in a taxi and asked him to take us to a ‘lovely sandy beach’!! 😂😂😂

    F is for Fujairah
