Good morning everyone, I have returned home and I have been so busy I have quickly scrolled through to catch up with you all , I give my best wishes to all who are not feeling to good at the moment and happy holidays to those that are going away soon. I have returned home to everyone falling apart physically and mentally here so we both were into action first thing yesterday and again today starting with school pick-up at 7.45 , the other in-laws are moving back from France to my daughters house for 8 weeks while their new flat gets sorted etc so it’s moving beds around time , she as torn something in her knee and can’t walk or drive so it’s down to us . We ourselves came home exhausted from looking after dad and the dog but at least we had 4 hours on the plane to ourselves 😁 , apart from that dad and my SIL flew the same day to Glasgow to see a sick relative but their flight got delayed 3 hours because of a engine fire and they all had to evacuate and change planes, not to mention we paid for a suitcase which they disputed and had to pay again and to top it all they have now lost the suitcase it’s in Newcastle or Birmingham airport, and worst of all my SIL put all of dads medication in the suitcase 😡 she knows not to do that and I can’t understand why she did it . So we had to arrange for a doctor up in Scotland to issue new drugs that were all in spainish on the script. So apart from lots more going on that I won’t go into we had half an hour to book our seats going to Japan yesterday which is 3 flights and after a bit of a pickle we managed it and got some good seats that we are very happy with, so here a few pic’s leaving fuerteventura Wednesday and Lanzarote in distance. I have brought 100lb ones and 40lb ones both are good to hang a heavy winter coat on without it sliding down the wall , it certainly saves space in the wardrobe that padded coats take up especially if you’re going to cold countries, I ve had mine for 20 years and they don’t lose their strength. Amazon best place to look .

Oppps that was a lie because I e stay twice in hotels at the harbour end 😜

We get a car because I’m a bit of a fidget and like to go to El Cotillo for lunch and Betancuria which was the original capital of the city , fantastic scary drive out to it though with some lovely views and the Ajuy caves with the rough waves , lots of different small private beaches to investigate too . How did you find Caybeach Cala ? I’m trying to get different prices for next year and we haven’t stayed in town at all

Yes I am here , it’s a bit difficult to say where for a long term let , depending on if you hire a car here we don’t stay directly in town , this is caleta de fuste we stay in 10 minutes from airport, but have stayed up the hill here that can be cheaper renting but you need a car , then towards town a bit on the golf course which is a better area but ££ , there is lots of self catering in town and on sea front which we haven’t tried yet but researching at the moment for 3 weeks next April/ may . Personaly we prefer caleta de fuste than Corralejo and Morro Jable which are at both ends of the island. 3 weeks has been the longest we have been out here but that also includes staying in family home and hotels , I think maybe yorkshirephil will have better idea for a long stay because I think he stayed for 6 weeks not long back . W e normally book through booking.com self catering areas are: Broncemar Beach suites Caybeach Caleta Castillo Playa All these are self catering bungalows in town .

She is a very good girl a little bit lazy until she she’s the chipmunks or rabbits on what we call the moon because it’s all rock and dust where she goes for her walks , she is what they call a mountain herder dog for the goats , she has short legs to nips their back of legs , she drinks her water and food laying down 😂

I’m wide awake too , had about 4 hours so far and hopefully pop back off soon to sleep, we took my father in-law and my son and fiancée out to dinner tonight and they all had wonderful huge steaks and I had a chicken breast covered in like a Caribbean sauce which was nice but my photos don’t do it justice. Pep the dog had a lovely time at the pamper parlour with her first bath and her nails cut and feels silky smooth now , we take my son to the airport tomorrow and then Saturday back to the airport to pick my sister in-law up and then I’ve got 2 more cooking days for them all then 2 days off before I come home .

Michelle I hope your mum is getting better with the adjustment to her medication, we have to cut our dads in half and they are so small but they don’t do a lower dose , fingers crossed it all works better for her .

Good morning all, I can’t believe it’s still so cold back home 🥶🥶 , been up since 7 this morning so a lay-in having my second cuppa on patio it’s currently 18* , and blue skies, we are taking the dog to the pamper parlour today to have a bath and her nails cut , they are extremely long and curling a bit and look painful so we are taking it upon ourselves to have it done , she’s never had a bath in 7 years, she goes in the sea now and again but that was over a year ago and she feels so dirty just stroking her with all this sand around so fingers crossed she likes it . We have just booked some flights for next year to come out for 3 weeks because they are now doing flights from Bournemouth to fuerteventura starting next April on jet2 so I’m booking my hired car which is coming up at 322€ with jet2 15% bonus so that’s a brilliant deal so now this week I’m looking to book somewhere reasonable to stay . House work day today as well bed changing and mopping floors then off to vets and we’re have lunch across from it in case they have a problem with the dog .

Good Sunday morning everyone, having a cuppa on patio in the cool air before it gets to 28 today, yesterday was hot as well took dad to his local for all his bets on the horses and grand national and his football 🙄 and had our dinner in there as well , it was packed but when you got tv screens everywhere no one gets in your way , relaxing day today cooking a roast , my son certainly chose a good week to come out and relax in the heat , yesterday they spent the day in the Sherrington hotel pools , that’s something I like when you are over here you can walk into any hotel and use there pools / jacuzzi’s no problem.
