  1. @harryfat1 Surprised by your breakfast pics - no congee? I'll be looking for that on my trip. I know where they serve it on the Royal...just inside the aft entrance. Will look for the waffles by the specialty coffee station. Thanks for the tip!
  2. True! I'll enjoy whatever weather I get. I'll be on a cruise and I don't have to fly anywhere. I can't wait!
  3. @harryfat1On the 7 day cruise, we don't go to Whittier. I've been there before though and walked through the tunnel. Also enjoyed taking in the views of the marina and the mountains. We have three of the regular ports - Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. Waiting to see if Skagway is switched out for Icy Strait or Sitka. On a 12 day trip, those two ports were included. No Glacier Bay this time, but Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier is scheduled for the morning of Juneau, which was missed in May, due to too much ice.
  4. North and southbound both. 7 day sailing starts and ends in Vancouver. No flying for me! Thank you for the links. I've been there before in September. Just wondering what you are experiencing first hand. May was delightful and warm; blue skies everyday!
  5. @rheathslc Do you know the temperature these days? I'm packing now for next week! TIA Bringing my raingear and fleece! TIA
  6. Speaking of packing...can you give me an idea of the temperatures in the ports this week? Would be useful to know the temps on sea days as well, if you know them. In May, the weather was quite warm on most days, but also too cold to sit out at night at MUTS. I am bringing my raingear this time! @harryfat1TIA
  7. Thank you for taking so much time to post. I am enjoying your reports. I have never seen the neon lights before. I learned something new today. Perhaps they only have them on Majestic? I have been sailing on Royal - going again in a week. If this is day 1 - then we have so much to look forward to, from you! I will be reading along, in the breaks that I take from packing. @harryfat1
  8. Oh, I see. There used to be enough choices for me BTG in the "book" menu. But I know things have changed. Will have to wait and see. I drink mostly reds, but enjoyed some whites there as well. I appreciate getting this update from you. Thank you.
  9. Thank you! That is good to know. I sailed on Royal in May. That was the first sailing "return to sail". The selections of BTG were very good at that time. Looking forward to trying some new wines at Vines this time around, if necessary.
  10. Thanks for taking the time to give us so much information. If you like sitting at Vines, try the Jordan, cab sauvignon. If Amel is there, tell him Donna sent you! I will see him soon.
  11. Thanks for sharing that! Enjoy your sailing, in your mini-suite. Always a good choice.
  12. Question to those on board - Is a tube of lotion provided these days? I read somewhere here that amenities were proving to be scarce these days. Will I need to bring my own? TIA
  13. Thanks for all the information. Enjoy your suite and the special breakfasts. I consider that to be my favourite part of the suite experience.
  14. After sailing on the Royal in May, and other ships more than once, you get to know a staff member here and there. When you have a positive experience with someone, it's nice to know ahead of time if they will be onboard for your next sailing. I like to bring them a personal treat when I know they will be there! Thank you for the information.
  15. @_rusty_shacklefordHi there! Thanks for contributing to this thread. Wondering if you can capture a picture of the officer board please, and thank you! It's usually on deck 7 in the atrium area. Wondering if the maitre'd (director of restaurant ops) is Claudio Guiliani. Enjoy your cruise! Have you tried out Alfredos? I highly recommend the tiramisu there.
  16. I recall that the afternoon tea that I have ordered for my cabin is best on Caribbean P. I have also ordered it recently on Royal. Better selection and presentation on your ship. Enjoy!
  17. I am booked in a window suite for next year...which cabin were you in?
  18. Enjoy, Suite Anniversary! I like your thinking.
  19. I happened to ask- which charity? I may have the name wrong, but I did recognize it as a bona-fide charity at the time. World Central Kitchen rings a bell.
