  1. You can't put the deposit on your account on the ship either. You have to pay it with a debit/credit card.
  2. Agree. Having been aircrew for 16 years, I no longer fly and the first sea days are fine for me. The only time I found them tedious was in bad weather on the way back.
  3. Ha ha, I'm still working at 76 through choice. Still don't need cash. Cards are much easier.
  4. I have to say I haven't used cash anywhere in ages. And as I said, my office doesn't accept it and neither do a lot of the other businesses. Main problem is there are no banks around to pay in cah.
  5. I don't think you can choose your dining preference on a Saver Fare.
  6. most using large amounts of cash are using cash earned by avoiding VAt and doing jobs for cash. At my office, we no longer accept cash at all. If the money is legit, why wouldn't you pay it into your bank and then use a debit or credit card.
  7. See you on board! I haven't been to Mykonos, Rhodes or Crete (well I have, but only landed and took off again in my aircrew days).
  8. Please don't pay cash. Use a credit card. That way you have some insurance cover.
  9. Haven't sailed with Fred for a long time, but I am still Silver and found this mention on their website that I don't understand. What does Lead time to Qualify mean? Just found out what it means. Have to book 9 months in advance.
  10. Andrew, having sailed with Shirley for 10 years, it's going to be very odd without her. Went to the funeral last week and it ended with them playing one of her records. Very tearful.
  11. Oh, it simply means you pay for your drinks. I read it as like a cover charge, like the Beach Hut!
  12. Andrew, just looking at our cruise and scrolled down to see "For a Little Extra" and it includes Andersons? We always used to go there for a drink. Do you now pay for that? https://www.pocruises.com/find-a-cruise/R319/R319
  13. Yes see what you mean, but not the same at all!! So ugly!
  14. I love that tiered stern on Aurora. They don't make 'em like that any more.
  15. yes, that's a good place, on the tiered decks. I often sit there. As you say, out of the wind.
  16. Our spend on drinks on a 19 night cruise is somewhere in the region of £600. A large glass of wine in the bar and then a bottle of wine with dinner which we don't always finish. Maybe the odd coffee. Don't do soft drinks or speciality restaurants. Might try one on our next cruise though. Specially if the MDR food is awful!!
  17. Yes, I hate Prosecco. 11% is very low. Agree.
  18. just no reason why wireless headsets could not be used instead of everyone having to listen to it. Nothing like that on Aurora or Arcadia.
  19. Oh God, that seascreen was horrendous. Even if you sat at another pool you could still hear it. I can't imagine why in this day and age, people can't be given headsets, so you don't have to listen if you don't want to. There are sunbeds on the Prom Deck on Aurora, not that many, but they don't get in the way of people walking.
  20. is she still standing after those? 🤣
  21. Only until they go to the dining room or buffet.
  22. Not as much, but yes I would look at her. Have just been through both of their cruises through to 2024 and I'm afraid they are all the same as we have done before, so will try one with Fred again. He is doing an Azores plus Brest and St Malo. Also, slightly shorter than these 19 nighters.
  23. Unfortunately wearing a mask is not going to protect from norovirus.
  24. I like to feel I am on a ship not a huge shopping mall. Horses for courses. I love sitting on the Prom Deck in the late afternoon, reading or simply watching the water. I found Azura very crowded and noisy.
