  1. Typically they honor bookings made during test loads unless the pricing is so far off it's clearly a mistake, which I don't expect in this case. It's not the inaugural date and once the whole season is released the Nov. 18 date will be just another 4 night Utopia cruise. There is nothing special about Nov. 18. It's not Thanksgiving. Not the first cruise, not anything that warrants special considerations. Once thousands have booked Utopia the Nov. 18 date will be just another cruise.
  2. Category was "SO". Confirmed as Star Class, rate was $5,062.50 per person before port fees and taxes. A2 Star Class Aquatheater was the least expensive Star Class at $4,820 pp before taxes. A1 was more than the SO at $5,561pp before taxes. SO balcony was 0 sf so no balcony as expected. I'm guessing they will be very close to the UP found on Oasis.
  3. And if it was a suite of any kind, non-refundable 🙂
  4. Book early or tell your favorite TA to book when it opens.
  5. All things considered it didn't appear to be too bad versus expectations. For two guests a 4V Interior was $1,089.50 versus Allure 4V interior same week $931.08. That's not a bad new ship premium for an entry level cabin. Faced with that difference I think a number of people would book Utopia. For a 4D ocean view balcony it would be $1,618.50 on Utopia versus $1,360.08 on Allure. That's $258 more for a brand new ship in the most popular balcony category.
  6. Last night pricing did not appear to allow any qualifier such as CAS, age, state, etc. So in some cases rates may be slightly better.
  7. The ports that have limited, or are trying to limit cruise ships are mostly targeting smaller ships as well. Key West would have banned Empress, Sovereign, Vision and Radiance class had their ban held up. In some cases all that are allowed are ships with fewer or well under the 1,000 person capacity size including crew. There is no way any mass market line to going to build ships small enough that they would make it under the thresholds that are being established in places that are banning or limiting cruise ships by size. Some ports will never again be called upon by mass market ships regardless. To the mass market cruise segment that is inconsequential.
  8. I would expect so. Inaugural may be higher, or will get there soon was demand forces go into effect. Holiday rates will be higher too.
  9. Well that didn't last long. And just like that it was gone. 🙂
  10. That's what I thought when the newly Amped Navigator was put on short FL. "What are they thinking?" was my response. Since that time though it's proven to be a brilliant business decision.
  11. Correct. Royal doesn't bundle, except for Star Class.
  12. It won't let me go into that date to explore pricing so unsure how suite pricing looks.
  13. Royal Caribbean Blog dot com has a number of cruise compasses available such as this one. https://issuu.com/hochmania/docs/cruisecompass010223-merged/42 Dress to Impress night two.
  14. Sovereign was once the mega ship of the seas. Back then people couldn't fathom anything larger.
  15. I enjoyed the show but I prefer to see it from the lower seating area in front. Two70 is not meant to be a 2 dimensional theater but you sit further back that is exactly what you get. I enjoy it more when the performers are all around me.
  16. Try calling Crown and Anchor. They tend to be better agents and they have the full power to service direct bookings. ‭(800) 526-9723‬
  17. Every cruise is different so it's possible there will be cabins in your category that you can switch to once it's official. You never know, it never hurts to ask.
  18. There are rumors that something may be in the works but officially Royal has said nothing.
  19. You need to wait until it's official. However in my recent case by the time it was official the category I was assigned was closed so there was nothing available to me to move into.
  20. At this point just book something. You are about to lose the $200 deposit if the future cruise expires. Might as well convert it to something that you might want if for no reason but to postpone the loss of $200. Who knows, maybe you will end up sailing on that cruise.
  21. I used to think like you. Bikinis > Parkas. Then I did an Alaskan cruise. Why did I keep putting it off? So I did five more Alaska cruises. Weather is highly variable in Alaska. There can be great weeks and not so great weeks during the entire Alaska cruise season. All ships current ships for Royal in Alaska are good for cold climates. Radiance class and Quantum class both have enclosed solariums and lots of glass to look out from warm areas of the ship. No one can sell you on Alaska. Decide for yourself.
  22. I wonder if they are changing when they do test loads now. The Spectrum China test load is two weeks from release date. That makes me wonder if they already did a Utopia test load and we missed it.
  23. If your two accounts are not linked, or in a CAS relationship then you should call CAS to have them fix that. Spouses in a declared CAS relationship progress together based on the person with the highest points. When you are in a CAS relationship you both appear to have the number of points based on who has the higher amount but they continue to track each individual actual points in the background. If you don't see the same number of points when you log into each account it is possible they haven't figured out you are married.
