Mrs Dunvectrin and I are returning to our US residence from Europe. We have approximately 5 standard suitcases and a couple of "carry on" types with essential medicines etc. We have our gala/masquerade tux's and ballgowns and daily wear in two of the larger ones. The rest ...we don't need for the crossing. Is there a way to have those items stored ( we have a sheltered balcony cabin) and we pick them up in NY? Thanks all in advance.

Checked in this morning. Everything is done ( except for the luggage tags). We have our mutual credit card registered ,but Mrs Dunvectrin is having difficulty with the website. Is the ship ENTIRELY free of "transactions"? In other words ,if she wanted to buy a gift on HER credit card...can that be done ,OR can she register her card upon arrival on board? Thanks all.

As a chap who enjoys a little Blackjack , and who will play on his next TA in November, I have a question. I am travelling from Germany and my cash is in Euro's, do I need to exchange it for USD in order to pay for chips? Obviously everything else is covered by credit card...but how does the casino work? In fairness to NE John I found the quote in another thread about dress codes. The poster there was of the opinion that people who weren't freemasons or members of a rugby club and thus might be unused to formal dinners , and would be unaware of how to dress properly. It was no more than that and certainly not casting aspersions on those particular folks. As I stated I wasn't a member of neither of those clubs and therefore I would never comment on their peculiarities. 🙂

I am a retired professional "non freemason, rugby club formal dinner type" as described on a previous thread. I rarely dress up. HOWEVER for my one way on the QM 2 to NYC in November, I have purchased the full get up..bow ties cummerbund the lot, and am as excited as an excited thing. I can hardly wait for the gala nights ( even if my wife is insisting on a weekend in Venice for masks for the masquerade! ) It is WHY we are travelling this way. On an unrelated issue. As we will be at sea on Thanksgiving and Mrs Dunvectrin is American she wonders if there is anything planned for that Thursday? Off to polish my patents!!

Hello...and apologies if I am posting in the wrong thread (apparently I have history). My wife and I are travelling from Southampton to NYC in November. She suffers from asthma which is well controlled by inhalers. Very rarely she might need steroids. Is the medical centre able to prescribe these? Thanks in advance.
