I wasn't, I was just asking a question because the title of this thread was...

"Is anyone on a cruise in a Sky Suite that can comment about the changes instead of speculating.

That's all, have a great day!

You too have a great day and thank you for the nice reply I guess no one will know before we cruise again but these changes are concerning.

Are you saying that in your now recent experience with the new policies that the butler team failed to bring you coffee at a specified time? Or are you just making a WAG that this will be neglected from now on?

Why be so belligerent, my comment was not about coffee it was about our butler bringing breakfast to our cabin and I was just making a comment that if the service we had experienced in the past was no longer available. We really enjoyed that experience it was far superior than the service we had experienced in a balcony and Aqua cabin. We have 2 cruises booked in 2024 and will see if the changes impact our perception of the added value of sailing in a suite. Hope you enjoy all your cruises on X as we will most certainly enjoy ours. But we will be looking elsewhere if we decide the cuts in service that we are accustomed to affect our enjoyment.

For example it seems that on sea days lunch in any restaurant has been cancelled and the only venue open will be the Ocean View Cafe, but sorry I do not like to eat in buffets. The reason being is that over the years I have seen too many people pick food up look at it and then put it back. I have also seen people pick food up with their hands, eat it lick their fingers and the pick another item up.
Each to their own and I really hope you enjoy your vacations.

I just checked my account on Seaware. OBC vouchers now have values assigned to them. Progress at last. We cruise in Nov 23.

I can see ours too, we sail in October.

  4. Perhaps they will do away with Al Bacio and introduce Starbucks like hotels that would not surprise me.
“ To enhance our valued guests experience and enjoyment they can now enjoy a delicious freshly brewed coffee and other Starbucks favourites “ A fee will be applied.

There will now be fewer butlers sharing the same pool of auto gratuities (which recently increased). I doubt I would find the need to augment further. That said, my only foreseeable cruise in Retreat sails next week--supposedly the last Summit sailing prior to the reduction in service. I'll be prepared for either scenario.

It will be great if you can let us all know of your experience 👍

I can set up my own breakfast…

I too can set up my breakfast but it is so nice to be brought to my cabin at the time I want. We were really spoiled by our butler on our last 2 cruises on the Reflection and the Edge. Both brought us wine and water. A once a day visit with some bottles of water and a bottle of wine with clean glasses was all we needed.
breakfast on the balcony was another treat we will see in March if we see a difference.

I'm quite sure that won't be the case.  I'd be happy to have a single confirmed return flight, lol.

Just hope you get it all sorted, I have only ever booked one flight with the cruiseline

a trip to Rome when the flights were included agh no I also booked flights with RCCL for a one way TA from Houston to Manchester.

That experience 10 years ago made sure I never did it again

i really hope everything works out have a great vacation 👍

Have already submitted my question "why are you even considering allowing Vaping inside any ship when it goes against all medical advice?

My question was “How can you even think of allowing vaping in any part of the ship other than designated outside smoking areas. Furthermore why are you putting guests health at risk “

DCL and will do without my nightly craps game.  Bad asthma, unfortunately.

Same here, we are trying Azamara again in October, no casino but no smoking / vaping anywhere inside. To me the new CEO is destroying the brand by 1000 cuts.

  11. @OysterD I love your responses, you will have a great time the ship is beautiful.l remember when the Solstice was first muted the boards lit up. “Will never sail on those class of ship” was the theme. But hey ho many years later the same class is being praised. People tend to like what they know but I have been sailing with X since the Summit was new and will continue whatever ship we choose. The only thing that may change our view is if they allow vaping inside.

    Have a great cruise 🛳👍

I tried them because of the deals but I'm  not a big fan of the Luxury cruise lines as they lack the activities I enjoy and during sea days they are boring. I guess if you like lectures on Law or Investing but I'm more into bean bag toss and paper airplane contests and in the Caribbean a Good Jamaican steel drum Band by the Pool.

The maiden voyage was to be in July but this happened:

Explora Journeys has pushed its first ship's maiden cruise to Aug. 1, departing from Copenhagen, Denmark, saying a delivery delay has occurred because certain building materials did not meet safety requirements. The Explora I had previously been scheduled to depart England on July 17.

so when did you sail 😂😂😂😂

I'm starting to regret booking my first Celebrity cruise. I Had been really excited about it all but have a sinking feeling I'm not going to enjoy it if these boards are anything to go by. I Think I'll steer clear of them in future.

    Hope so 👍

  14. Azamara have a policy that was similar to Celebrity:

Azamara's ships have a designated smoking area on the portside forward section of the Pool Deck. Smoking is prohibited in all other areas of these ships, including public rooms, restaurants, the Pool Deck, staterooms and suites, verandas and hallways. Additionally, smoking is prohibited on all components of the land tour portion of all Azamara Club Cruises cruise tours. This policy includes the use of products like electronic cigarettes.

For those who will no longer cruise on Celebrity should this “test” become permanent, where will you go for future vacations?

Are there other non-smoking/vaping cruise lines?

Well if nothing else this thread has made me more aware about vaping.

People can vape in your hotel room and it will not be noticed.

How does one know if someone vaped in their cruise cabin or hotel room before them?  They likely don't...

    :classic_sad:

The problem is that it is being allowed in public venues I have no problem if people wish to smoke or vape in the designated areas. I just avoid them but why should I be exposed to vape chemicals in an enclosed space. If people want to vape in their cabins not a lot can be done, smoking is a different situation as the smell of smoking can easily be detected.

If it was up to me I would not allow smoking or vaping anywhere on a ship and I really wish a cruise line would come out with such a policy.
