  1. I don't ever wear shorts in the MDR.

I was more curious about around the ship.

    Hi

During the day on the ship shorts and polo shirts are fine

Myself if I'm going to eat usually change into a pair of line

Trousers, just think what you would feel comfortable

in going to a nice restaurant for lunch or an early dinner

In the evening summer trousers and a shirt or polo

will be find, you have formal nights covered

Don't worry have a great cruise

  2. Thank you for your responses. This could possibly be our first and last time with Select dining. We will see. We orginally wanted early seating but our TA said she could not get it for us. At the time there was only 2 of us. Then I decided I wanted to try select since we were already signed up for it.

The biggest advantage I see is not being locked in to a certain time to eat. I still remember on a couple of cruises we were on we missed sailaway because we needed to get ready for dinner.

Make friends with the host/hostess, a table for 8 shouldn't be a problem

You may have to wait a while but if you all decide to dine around

the same time each night they will have a table ready for you

Talk to the dining room staff .

You will have a great time but be prepared to sometime go with the flow.

As you say there may be 8 there may be 3

  3. I hope I dont offend anyone but I am thinking of booking a Med cruise on the Epic.

The only thing concerning me is the Smoking Policy

how bad is the smoking in the Casino,

I Usually cruise on Celebrity and RCCL.

Royal Caribbean allows smoking in the Casino at the Bar but not at the Tables

how does it work on NCL.

    Thanks

  4. here is a link to the top 20

voted for Gastro Pubs in the UK.

Many are owned by Celebrity Chefs and have Michelin Stars.

I am looking forward to this venue as I am sure

there will be nice wines to go with the food,it

will also be a good alternative to Bistro on 5.

Be interesting to see what the cover charge will be,

my guess is $5 per person same as Bistro and the Lawn Club.

  6. The difference is still $10 or $11.50 with gratuity. Are you suggesting that Celebrity will somehow discount the difference? Of course that would be good, but is a little surprising to me.

If yes, are you also suggesting that you cannot get the discount unless it is booked on board?

I was told that I could use the coupon and get the 10% discount,

So on a 14 night cruise the cost is $161 so that would be a discount

    of $16.10.

This is a special discount for Elite + members of Captains Club.

It can only be done onboard as it is with the vouchers left in

    your cabin on embarkation day.

However the terms and conditions say that it cannot be used with

promotional packages (just found that out)

But once again different info from the web site and the staff on the ship.

I am going to wait anyway till I get on board as I can use my OBC to pay

    For the upgrade.

    Cheers

  7. Yes we were on constellation on apr 14 and that was the price. 11.50 per day.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Just a quick heads up the new Elite Plus

gives a 10% discount on drinks packages

purchased on board. I was told by Captains Club Rep

that the discount will be applied to the cost of the upgrade

    from classic to premium.

So I am going to wait till I'm on board to upgrade.

  8. I was a little put out by the OP's comments. Blu is a perc for AQ staterooms, but suite guests are welcome, as space permits, and may (or may not) be subject to a minimal surcharge. OP's point seemed to be that since suite guests paid so much more they should be entitled to every possible perc on the ship.

Maybe they should have the option of using any stateroom's bathroom at their convenience. I am afraid I'm seeing a group of X cruisers who seem to delight in informing everyone of their Elite or Elite + status. And I am concerned that X's move to more private areas for "Elites" and above and/or suite guests will lead to a 3 class system. Suite guests who get 1 ship, Elites who will get another and those of us (the majority) who are neither and will be relegated to the bowels of the ship and will see sunlight when we are allowed out on port days.

Come on enjoy the experience, those young folks treat us all

like royalty no matter what cabin we are in,

    Well that's my experience anyway,

A big thank you from me to all those who make every vacation

    one to remember.
