  1. I would also add that whatever they agree make sure you

get it confirmed in writing and take a copy with you

    when you travel.

Good luck,by the way the Silhouette sails the next day with a very

similar itinery, what availability do they have in that,

But maybe with flights the return home won't work,

Perhaps X would pay any change in airfare

  2. All the balcony cabins on S class ships are the same size

Some due to location have bigger balconies

Aqua Class have better shower heads and access to Blu.

Eating in Blu is the jewel, you can go anytime and the

Waiters and Somieliers are the best.

If you enjoy the Spa so much the better as you have

    access to the Persian Gardens.

    Have a wonderful cruise

  3. Hope this helps

    For easier pick up.

  4. Thank you so much! This review is just what I needed. We are choosing a Baltic cruise for this Summer right now and Celebrity was one of the options. Could you advise about the passengers there? What age category and what countries was the majority from?

We are in out fifties, Brits - me and my friend. We like nice food but are not heavy eaters and we are not very much in for drinks (a bit old fashioned - like tea ). We are in for art and culture. And we like it when it is calm and comfortable. Do you think we will fit in?

You will be round pegs in round holes.

Celebrity is the best cruiseline we have sailed on.

Take advantage of the non alcoholic drinks package,

The choice of teas in the Cafe d bacio is fantastic.

I would also suggest select dining, you can choose to eat at any

time between 6.30 and 9pm which may be a good option

if you are looking o do a Baltic Cruise.

  5. Yes Sue, I noticed it at the weekend too. I have now removed the Celebrity US bookmark I had and replaced it with My Celebrity Login using this link which seems to take me to the area I used to look at:

    https://secure.celebritycruises.com/mycelebrity/login.do

    Phil

    Hi Phil

The link works but if you go to "plan a cruise" it takes you to

the UK site and shows prices in GB£.

If you book a March 2014 cruise in the Eclipse in a 2c the cost

    Is £3304

The same cruise via. US TA same category of cabin including taxes and Gratuities

Calculated as per the X UK site is $4151.

At an exchange rate of 1.54 that equates to £2695,

For the UK quoted price I could book an Aqua Class (A1).

I will leave others to do the Math, but I will reserve my options to

Use a TA based in the US or book direct with X if they promote

Sailings for UK customers sailing from / around Europe.

I won't even go into the other benefits of booking via the US

    for Caribbean sailings.

  6. We've only sailed on RCI, and I think they are a great cruise line. Rhapsody and Radiance I loved, Voyager I didn't. I found Voyager to be too much like a shopping mall, too busy, too many people, and my experience with staff and the level of service provided was poor in comparison. To me, Voyager lacked the grandeur of Radiance and Rhapsody. My favourite parts of Voyager were the shower screens (rather than the curtains on Rhapsody and Radiance), and the the more private and slightly larger balconies.

We are considering Solstice next year Honolulu to Sydney, I have done a nearly identical itinerary on Radiance and loved it, but thought I might like to try Solstice as she looks like a beautiful ship, and I really want a lovely experience after experiencing an 'okay' cruise on Voyager. At the moment we are considering Rhapsody (which we have cruised on twice, but not since her refurb) or Solstice. Rhapsody is 16 nights via South Pacific Islands, Solstice is 19 nights via Tahiti and NZ.

We don't need a nightclub, however we quite like the 'piano man' atmosphere in RCI's Schooner Bar or English Pub, although we also enjoy a quiet place and violin duo etc.

We don't eat in the MDR every night, about 40% of the time we'd eat in a speciality dining restaurant or try the more relaxed atmosphere of the buffet. On RCI we love the Tutti salad bar or Park Cafe for lunch. We don't care about rock climbing or ice skating or bingo, although we don't mind the odd game of table tennis and the self levelling pool tables on Radiance were great. We also swim, but only in the adults only pool, we liked the solarium on Radiance and Rhapsody, but not so much the uncovered version of it on Voyager.

We don't really care that much about the shows, if there was something that interested us we'd go, if not we'd head to the casino or a bar for a quiet drink.

We definitely don't want a 'retirement home' atmosphere, but prefer not to have masses of children and families on board.

We like elegance, but also don't want an atmosphere where the majority of people actually think they are 'upper class', and are patronising to others (I know you get some on every ship, and I am only mentioning this because of some of the posts I've seen in this thread!).

Hopefully this has given you a rough indication of the things we do and don't like. I know preferences are really an individual thing, but I would value your opinion.

Do you think we sound like X'ers, or should we stick with RCI?

Hi we too love the Radiance Class and have sailed on the Jewell and the Brilliance, we have also sailed on the M Class ships which are very similar

To the Radiance class in terms of Hull Design.

However we sailed on our first Solstice Class ship last year and

Thought it was our best cruise experience ever.

If you can, try and grab an Aqua class cabin - as you dine in Blu

Every night. It is like dining in a specialty restaurant, superb.

Although we like RCCL there is just something about Celebrity

that's makes us keep going back.

If you do decide on Celebrity don't forget o transfer your C&A status

    to Captains Club.

I would do it now in case they change the reprocical arrangements.

  7. Hi,

The red tour Hop on Hop off bus is a great way

to see Miami it leaves from South Beach and is about $25pp

The Equinox leaves from Ft Lauderdale, a taxi will ost about $60 from

Miami, you may want to check out what a shuttle will cost,

Or hire a car for the day from Hertz (they have a Downtown location)

And drop of at ft Lauderdale which will cost you about £30

  8. Swigso,

It has occurred to us that we might like Aqua Class so much that we would be reluctant to go back to anything else, and we are traveling with four other couples who have never sailed Celebrity before. One of them asked, "Will we enjoy this so much we won't be happy on other lines?" Perhaps!

Hope your friends have a great time, we have sailed other lines

But there is just something about Celebrity that makes them special.

If you asked me to put my finger on what it is I couldn't say,

    I think it's just.......?????

  9. " I sure hope I am able to avoid every Elite onboard..."

Actually, some of us who have Elite status are really nice people who just happen to enjoy cruising and are looking forward to their Feb. 23 cruise even though we're stuck in the dreaded 12th deck on the hump. Yes, we're in Aqua Class cabins, but it's a first time experience that we and a group of friends thought we'd try on a new ship.

    Hi

we just did AQ for the first time on the Equinox dining in Blu

is the best. Blu has really spoiled us will never book CC again

    Have a great time.

  10. I will be in Ponce, Puerto Rico, from 8am until 5pm on my upcoming cruise. Does anyone have any suggestions for this port? It's a maiden call for the cruise line I'm sailing with. Is the town nice for a stroll and lunch?Michael

Ponce is a very nice place, the people are very friendly and the

Town centre is nice to stroll.

There is a nice Church a fire station and plenty of shops to browse

  11. One more quick question, maybe two:).

On X how much is the cost plus gratts?

Are they smoothies and virgin drinks or just smoothies?

Thanks you in advance for your answers.

    Andrew

On X the Classic package is $39 plus 15% per day and includes

Water coffee soft drinks tea and any wine/beer/spirit&mixer upto $8

The Premium costs $49 plus 15% per day and includes all the above

But includes Pellagrino/and Evian water as well as any Drink upto $12.

In addition any drink over $12 you pay the extra. So if it costs $14 you will

    Be charged $2.

    Hope this helps

  12. Hello

Looking for some help regarding the Sheraton Ft Lauderdale Beach.

It used to be the Yankee Clipper I think has it had a major overhaul?

    Looking to book with points.

How far is it from the Port and Water Taxi stop?

What is nearby with regards to bars Restaurants etc.

We plan on a one night stay and are picking the rental car up

    The next day.

Can we get about without the car?

    Thanks

  13. Hi all

We are going to grenada on our next cruise and wanted to know which would be the best beach to go to

We are looking for a beach which has white sand, has good facilities i.e toilets and food/drink and sun loungers but also not hours away from the cruise port.

    What are your recommendations?

    Thanks

Grande Anse is a great beach

Have you joined the roll call

    These S-Class ships are fantastic

    Deck #:11

    Class: AQ1

    Area: Starboard near front elevator

    Bed near: Bath

    Quiet?: Quiet, no connecting.

    Balcony view: good

    Balcony size: Normal size

    Wind a problem?:No.

    Soot a problem?:

Problems/comments: I would book it again. This cabin is in a great

    I would book again.

There were no noise issues and had great access to the Aqua Spa
