  1. We too were on the Reflection sailing from Rome 16 Sept and also were in a suite and dined in Luminae. We have cruised so many times on Celebrity the first time on the Summit in 2002 when formal nights were, well formal. Yes things have changed but then again hasn’t everything. We loved our sailing and it was fantastic to be back on a ship. We found the food and service to be wonderful never met anyone coughing and used the stairs rather than the elevators. Walked and walked around the ship we love Aruba too but just enjoy being in a different place every day. Whilst we are able we will continue to cruise. Definitely not losing its spark for us.
  2. We did an AI but it made us realise that we prefer to cruise Mexico is not for us and we were in a 5* resort service and staff were great bt just not. Our thing. Sailed on the Reflection last month superb so glad we were back on Celebrity
  3. What I do not understand is why can it only be used for excursions, I would like to use it for the spa, how do they know what it is used for . Does this credit have a special code?.
  4. I usually sail with Celebrity and they have similar packages but the OBC is given for spa treatments. However if the credit is not used for the spa it can still be used for any other purchases. What would happen if a trip was booked but then cancelled would the credit be lost.

  6. As far as I know they will accept any, but you now only need to have a supervised test if the ship visits Greece or possibly some other islands in the Caribbean. It seems they are accepting self tests for all other sailings. You need to look at the information for your sailing.
  7. We both tested negative so we are now all ready to board tomorrow. Anyone who is sailing from an Italian port visiting Greece and needs a test 2 days prior to sailing please do not worry. There are Pharmacies (Farmacia) all over who will do the test. You will need your passport and it takes about 30 minutes to get the result and required paperwork, There is no need to make an appointment we just walked in. Hope this is helpful.
  8. Sometimes you are allowed one free change and as noted sometimes a fee is charged, but always question any fee as it may be waived. when you book onboard the cruise can be moved for free. hope this helps.
  9. There are Pharmacies in Rome that do walk in tests, no appointment needed. The fee is €22 per test. We will be doing ours on Wednesday before we board on Friday.
  10. We arrived in Rome yesterday evening, the weather is very nice. looking forward to a relaxing time. We are taking a train to Florence on Wednesday and will likely take the Test there.
  11. Here is the beautiful Celebrity Apex docked in Liverpool https://youtu.be/2rNyTGBfNfo
  12. I first sailed on the ferry across the Mersey in the 1960’s then on the SsDelta from Athens to Dubrovnik (school trip) the ship sailed through the Corinth canal. That was special and is a lasting memory. Great thread and love to cruise.
  13. Thanks everyone for your replies very much appreciated 👍
  14. Hello it has been a while since we sailed with Azamara, I know we have had the break due to Covid, but our last sailing was in 2018. So can I ask a few questions about these packages. Thinking about the enjoyment package which shows $500 shore excursion credit - Can this be used for anything or only for shore excursions. How would the ship know? For example if I purchased a wine package on board? Also this package has the premium drink package, can I upgrade to the ultimate and if so would the charge be deducted from any OBC many thanks
  15. Hi thanks for the info but that is for sailings from US ports we are sailing from Rome and are visiting Greece rules are different
  16. Hi all We sail from Rome on 16 Sept visiting Greece. We need to test within 2 days of sailing so my question is can we take the test on the Thursday or does it need to be on Wednesday. We are fully faxed and boosted this is getting very confusing. If we were flying to Greece we need not test at all. Help appreciated from fellow cruisers thanks
  17. Hi I found this on the tour Guys web site i think we are going to use this https://thetourguy.com/tours/rome/rome-covid-test
  18. We sail from Rome on 16 Sept and have 2 ports that are in Greece. The 16th is a Friday so 2 Days prior means that we+test on Wednesday Am I right about this. thanks
  19. Will stop posting now and enjoy the review, cannot wait to get on board in September.
  20. Flying anywhere today is a lottery, that is why we are flying to Rome 5 days before sailing. The other variant is hotel prices, I always book early and when I booked the rate was €300 per day about average for a 4/5 star city centre hotel such as the Westin. The rate is now over €850 per night. Very glad I booked when I did. we have a cruise booked in Feb next year and it was cheaper to book another sailing (Reflection 7 nights) with the elevate package in Aqua than book the hotel we usually stay at in Sarasota after our cruise.
  21. @bluwes Like you we have had BA flights changed 3 times since we booked them. One time they put us on a Manchester to Heathrow flight that landed 10 minutes after the flight to Rome had departed. 2 weeks ago the cancelled our Heathrow to Rome leg completely with no alternative given. We have lost faith in BA we feel they cannot be trusted. We had our flight from Manchester to Heathrow cancelled with 2 hrs notice, luckily we were able to hire a car and drive to the airport for our flight the next day. We sail from Rome on the Reflection in September and have booked with Lufthansa from Liverpool airport. The connection is via Frankfurt and as it is a new route business class fare was really good, Liverpool although not as big as Manchester, is OK to travel to/from. really enjoying the review
