  1. Not sure I understand. When you make a bid it is for one person and if your bid is accepted you will be charged two times what you bid. So, as I understand it, when you were charged double, that was correct.
  2. No, it is to save $$$$. No wrapped chocolates on pillows? Save $$$ Bulk cereal dispensers instead of individual brand-name boxes in the buffet? Save purchase $$$ as well as reduce variety available (less inventory costs) and no need to have actual known brand names. No individually wrapped soap bars? Save $$$ by buying bulk liquid soap. etc.
  3. Cannot be processed on board. Must do it before the cruise.
  4. According to a spokesman for the TABC: “State law and TABC rules prohibit any practice which could reasonably be interpreted to allow or encourage overconsumption of alcohol. This includes “all you can drink” packages or other promotions which allow unlimited alcohol for a buy-in price. But the Princess package is not an "all you can drink" package since there is a limit of 15 alcohol beverages per day. Thus I see no reason the Princess package could not be used the first day even though selection would be limited until out of Texas waters,.
  5. Only because Princess chooses not to purchase a supply any of those other brands from Texas distributors.
  6. The newest movies on MUTS will be ones that just came out publicly on DVD or are about to.
  7. Did you ask for them? They keep them out of sight since some people have peanut allergies.
  8. By the cruise line that takes pride in how much single-use plastic it has eliminated
  9. 'Will there be separate bowls based on Captain's Circle level?
  10. I think they are sound proofed enough as I have never read a post complaining about noise from the washers or dryers. What I have read is complaints about passengers making noise when closing the doors leading to a laundry room or talking loudly as they approach or leave the laundry room. Limiting the hours the rooms are open cuts down on that noise.
  11. I had to "fill" one out in December (did it with a phone call to Princess picking app help option) before a Princess cruise out of Galveston.
  12. As long as people are willing to pay extra for what Princess used to give away free, there will be less free upgrades.
  13. Because someone who booked a full suite may end up cancelling the cruise and thus a cabin becomes available to be filled by someone who placed a bid. It may or may not happen, but it could.
  14. I wonder if those who booked with the Premier package are also having the same problem.
  15. Thanks for proving the correct information. I do not know how long it takes to create each Medallion on board, especially when there are so many customizations involved and placing them in zip-lock bags and organizing them in some way to be easily found at check-in. But assuming it takes one minute each and assuming 50% of passengers will pick up at the port, for a Royal class ship it would take about 30 hours of work to create them.
  16. Definitely not see that. Not sure how much language is edited out. Now walking past passengers wearing Speedos is a different matter.
  17. The $25 was given on the cruise that started 12/29 which was the 2nd one from Galveston.
  18. If I remember correctly, when the bidding system started last fall, Princess asked for the charge card number at the time of the bid and indicated you would be charged if the bid was successful Princess. It also said back then "Once your offer is accepted, the upgrade amount paid is final and non-refundable." People were surprised that they had to arrange payment once they were notified of a successful bid.
  19. "Upon acceptance of an offer, the total amount will be charged...." It does not indicate if that is acceptance by Princess when they send out the info that you won the bid or by the customer after receiving the offer and accepting it.
  20. IC only has brewed coffee + the specialty ones. When you say "basic coffee," are you meaning fresh brewed?
  21. There will be multiple buses. If you are arriving on embarkation day, you provide the flight information and Princess will know about what time you will be there to board the next available bus. When I have arrived before embarkation day, I just pick a flight & arrival time to input that matches when I would like to leave for the ship and bears no relation to when I really arrived. If you use EZAir for a flight that arrives before embarkation day, then Princess knows when you arrived and I just show up at the airport about the time I would like to leave for the ship. Of course pick times that are practical, not too early as buses likely do not start before 9 AM and not too late as the last bus will be a couple of hours before check-in ends.
  22. It may be that you now need to take care of the health questionnaire which must be done a day or two before the cruise. This is something you could not have filled out earlier.
  23. No taxes. Yes, insurance. Of course $50 was the daily price when you booked your cruise. It would be $60 + insurance if you booked a new cruise.
