  1. Some history on the length of the shows in the Princess Theater o They used to be about 55 minutes long. o Two performances meant the performers were on for 120 minutes an evening o Because demand to see the shows was high, they changed to having three performances o But they reduced the length of the shows to 40 minutes so that with three performances the performers were still on for 120 minutes an evening. o Then they cut back to two performances, but kept the shorter length of the shows.
  2. Currently on the Princess web site: MedallionNet® The Best Wi-Fi at Sea Fast. Reliable. Unlimited. Affordable. Now on all ships. Fast and Reliable Internet MedallionNet Wi-Fi sets the industry standard for internet at sea. FaceTime your pooch in the morning. Stream your favorite shows by the pool in the afternoon. Post your Chocolate Journeys dessert from your dinner table. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, you can now stay connected with Wi-Fi coverage as you sail.
  3. Only to first two passengers in the cabin. If you have a successful bid there will be no additional charge for 3rd and 4th passengers.
  4. Princess used to have a better mini-golf setup, but has replaced those with the uninspiring putting green. The Princess mini-golf was not as good as what can be found on some other cruise lines such as RCI.
  5. All Princess ships are now Medallion ships.
  6. And that is the problem with the direction Princess is going. They used to differentiate themselves in a number of ways, but now Princess seems to be trying more and more to be just like the competition (larger ships, less unique itineraries, must pay for shore excursions booked in advance at time of reserving, ship-within-a-ship, etc.). Well, when they are just like the competition, then only price differentiates the cruise lines.
  7. Itdr said the Africa trip for $5498 was a land tour, not on a cruise.
  8. Should you ask for a partial refund of the Premier package price?
  9. These have been mentioned on other threads. Supposedly they were installed as a safety measure so people would not trip walking around the cabin in the dark. So far I have not seen a single post saying someone likes this feature. Most posts say the cabin attendant can tape over the sensor on the ceiling near the bathroom and a towel can block the sensor by the bed.
  10. They have had a day off once a week on some of my Princess cruises.
  11. The Alaska ports are more touristy than the Norwegian ones. There are no Diamond International shops on a Norway cruise.
  12. Could be his day off and you will hear from him tomorrow (unless is is not around due to Covid).
  13. Did you get the upgraded bathroom amenities that the Elite letter promised?
  14. That is about the same itinerary we had on the original Regal Princess in 2006. Princess was once known for great itineraries such as this one. Regal Princess docked in Manaus
  15. $200/day/person for an inside cabin; $300/day/person for a balcony; the Sun manages to combine being a larger ship with higher fares.
  16. Have you (or anyone else who has received a bidding E-mail) compared the minimum bid price to what it would have cost to have booked that higher category in the first place?
  17. That was their choice. They may not have been able to sell that cabin to you at a deep discount, but they could have sold it to you without their discount if they had wanted to.
  18. I read that the number of handicap accessible cabins has yet to be determined. If that is true, it means the entire cabin layout is not finalized. I do not see how Princess can sell cruises when the cabin types are not fully known yet. I hope this is not like what happened with a previous Princess new build (I do not remember which one). After selling a number of cabins, they renumbered some of them and people ended up losing locations they had specifically wanted when, for example, a rear facing cabin number (with a large balcony) was reassigned to a cabin on the side of the ship (with a minuscule balcony). The existing reservations stayed with the cabin number, not with the original location.
  19. Except that Princess promises the Internet is so fast that passengers can stream movies to their devices.
  20. "Royal Caribbean Voom, the fastest internet at sea, is now available on every Royal Caribbean ship. With six times faster onboard WiFi speed than you’ll find on any other cruise ships in the world, the internet connectivity is unlike anything you’re ever experienced on a cruise ship," the cruise line shared on its website. In reality, the internet may count as passable on the newer ships, and on the older ships, it's more an idea than an actual service. Even on the newest ships, service can be spotty on days sea days and slow at the best of times. Royal Caribbean has a plan to solve this problem by installing SpaceX Starlink internet on all of its ships. The cruise line has been testing that service on Freedom of the Seas and got permission from the U.S. government (which previously banned Starlink on moving vehicles/vessels) to install it fleetwide. The company has not, however, communicated when that would actually happen.
  21. Princess does not have any reservation system for attending any show in any venue on the ship.
  22. If really outside the allowed connection time, then the airline should have been willing to rebook something with a proper connecting time at no additional charge, even if it meant a different itinerary. Whether or not the Minimum Connecting Times are realistic is a different question. For DL-DL connections at MSP: D-D: 30 minutes D-I: 35 minutes
  23. Any cabin available from Princess should be available to be booked by any TA
