  1. Absolutely!! it was sad when we did Hawai'i in January we were the first ship to dock after the pause & when we left LA they still didn't have the agreements in place so we weren't positive that they would let us off the ship there...they did, but we had decided we wanted to go even if we just went around in circles
  2. thank you for all your contributions & support...your sister will love having the memories in a permanent format...I have done books on our Alaska & Panama Canal trips was waiting to do Hawai'i together with the Hawai'i, Tahiti & Samoa that was cancelled so now I guess I will wait until after the next one (or two)...if you wait for sales you can get a photo book made with whatever pictures & text you wish at a really good price
  3. the most honest answer is it depends, I believe the official time that Princess promises standard cabins is 1:30 but we have often had them before...I don't know about Club Class...there used to be a place where you could leave them until the rooms are open... we always go to lunch in the MDR on embarkation day & the rooms have been ready by the time we are done, although on our sailings since the restart they have been ready before lunch (however, 2 were less than half full & the 3rd was a return to service sailing
  4. I am sorry to inform you that the self-appointed entirely unofficial roving synopsis editor has rejected this summary of the aforementioned trip report. It should immediately be replaced with the following: Join Cheapo Dad as he takes you along on a fun-filled recounting of his family's adventures on the Majestic Princess in Alaska. Liberally illustrated with delightful photos & accompanied by a varied video soundtrack, this report will delight & inform you! On this thorough report you will tour the ship (complete with floor plans), salivate over delicious food & beverages, learn what Princess excels at & what she doesn't. At each port you will explore interesting sights (again with extensive photo illustration & accompaning maps & diagrams) while learning how to have a great trip without breaking the bank. Presented with humor & welcoming audience participation, Cheapo Dad's Trip Report on the Majestic Princess is a don't miss experience. Very seriously, I want to say thank you for all the time, detail, photos, humor, wisdom & joy you have put into sharing your trip, with all of us.
  5. you have 1 device & your cabin mate has 1 device? if so then you would have 4 & they would still have 1 (just did this on the Sapphire)
  6. I know they were trialing this on some ships (I think Ruby & Grand?) before the pause...but have not seen it since the restart. Has anyone else or did it fade away? My personal experience is that both service & quality of beef (& the whole meal) have varied more from ship to ship than from MDR to specialty venue.
  7. a few pix of the bears enjoying the cruise & Ruby went out on adventures of her own while the boys stayed home
  8. I couldn't find this when I did the San Jose del Cabo photos, but for some reason I really enjoyed watching them march the giant flag into the municipal building 2022-09-26 18.32.30.mp4
  9. just some assorted photos of the ocean because it makes me happy to watch 1951978148_2022-10-0115_08_32.mp4
  10. Wrap up It has been 2 weeks since we returned home from our cruise, so it is definitely time to finish this live & focus on dog training & other real-life things. Thank you to everyone who followed along & contributed to what turned out to be a long thread. I have discovered that doing a live, especially if I write the posts in my word processer first is a great way to have a memory of the details of my cruise, so thank you for indulging me. Looking back over this thread to see if there is anything I missed, I see so many typos & grammar errors that I did not catch as I struggled with the WIFI, so sorry about that!! I guess I need to hire a proofreader. I am going through my photos & will post a few more before closing with some last thoughts. 11. lots of new things in the IC on the Sapphire but missed the "normal" sandwiches like tuna & chicken salad haven't had a Princess PB cookie since the Grand in January 😥
  12. yes, here I was feeling badly that I didn't have a photo to share & you were ready to fill that need!!
  13. I don't know about the cosmetics as we only went in that store (because we are both allergic to perfumes) to try & get a charge reversed (that we didn't make not having been in the store) & to get my sister a free charm...there was a wide stock of liquor, I know they had watches that had been in storage buecause they said the prices were lower, they didn't have much port or ships merchandise so the stock was a mixed bag overall
  14. I think our experience was between the two of you, some issues, some strange dishes but also some excellent dishes & service...I am glad you had great dining room experiences
  15. thank you for sharing this...I hope not all the new menus are strange things like ceasar salad with chickpeas & the strange thing they have made the love boat dream into, but it will be nice to have some different menu choices when we sail again in March...I had heard that they had to hire & train many new chefs/cooks & we also saw the constant training in the MDR...I was very impressed by how often we saw (everywhere) Mario the head of Restaurant Operations following up with everyone
  16. was just rereading this thread as I wrap up this trip & saw your comment again...you will be ______ (fill in the blank: surprised, horrified, amazed, or...) to see the sandwich in the International Cafe next time you sail that is a clice of bread covered with slices of beets...
  17. like many things Princess, it depends... I can get it at half off when logged into the Medallion app but others cannot In Jan when I had to pay full price I could only get non-refundable OBC credit in Sept I decided to wait until onboard even though it was the 1/2 off in the app because I had too much OBC to spend & wanted to use that...once onboard on the first day in the app I was able to purchase with OBC at 1/2 off & at the pre-sailing price will any of this be true for your cruise or my next cruise? WHO KNOWS
